Thanks for the support everyone,

I've been trying to file for unemployment online, but the website is down. I went to the unemployment office, but they directed me to the website.

Christ, our country is a sh_tshow.

The rules for filing unemployment are looser than they used to be.

I would give it a try.

I’d have to lie on the form which then might cause me to lose my ssdi.
So now I have to get up early and call them and prob be on hold all day and talk to no one given everyone’s out of work and probably calling.

You didn’t actually quit the job, as far as I can tell.

Tell the truth. Tell them your circumstances with your mother. You might still be eligible for unemployment.

It’s not definite. But it’s possible.

Came across this article that indicates it’ll last longer than what I at least thought. My sadness and anxiety has hit a new low.

I think my mind has started to experience what it would be like to be aware that it’s either about to be the end of me or the world.

Coronavirus makes all other health illnesses potentially deadly because the healthcare capacity will be all sucked up treating coronavirus patients. If you need healthcare for any reason at a hospital for the next year you are likely f****d.

The "flattening the curve" baloney propaganda graph they show on tv and in social media is wildly inaccurate. They show the capacity of the healthcare system at halfway through the peak of COVID19 case peak load when in reality the healthcare capacity line is near the bottom of the graph as many healthcare systems in developed western nations operate near capacity on a good day without a pandemic going on.

I get really f*****g fed up with these reassuring lies pushed by politicians and health authorities and experts. Reassuring lies only cause apathy, indifference and inaction among the public who eat that s**t up which is the last thing we need.

Once the supply chains for groceries and food processors start to be compromised I really think that martial law is a real possibility. A great depression on the other hand is a foregone conclusion.

Yes, perhaps a decade ago my partner went to the hospital on a stretcher with the help of the local fire department. Took six hours to get a bed in intensive care. And it was covered by insurance. I don't think there was anything special that day to suck up capacity.

Reminds me of the time I had to lay in bed in one of the doctor's offices (unoccupied at that moment) since all the rooms were full... before that I was in the hallway. Lots of people end up having to be in the hallway often, even under normal circumstances.

...

Honestly, if there's someone else present to take care of the patient, maybe the chances of survival are higher at home as long as one doesn't have breathing difficulties. Imagine patients spread out in places that the staff forgets and just get left there, getting no help even if their condition rapidly worsens.

Apparently you need to file taxes even if you won’t pay anything or get a return.

The House has to pass the Stimulus. It’s not law yet.

Yes. Almost every adult has to file a tax return.
