Serious coronavirus thread. No deniers
She has no idea that my sis has been tested and doesn't have it. And there is little risk and we are taking all precautions. My sis is just babysitying my younger and this lady had the audacity to talk to us in thid way.
People become jerks with this imagining they know the other person's likelihood of carrying the virus and in reality with kids you have to leave home sometimes.
She was an Indian so it might have been that motivating her behaviour. This isn't the first time Indians (Hindus) are randomly rude to us. If we were white she would not have behaved that way. But things like this show you what is in people's secret hearts.
Yeah spot on there. Exactly my experience with most of the Indian community.
I hope you are joking. I don't like to think it's actually true but just particular to my experience. Once an Indian lady began screaming at my mom at the airport stating that her X rays Or MRI (i dont know what it was exactly my mom was carrying) didnt look real and what was her REAL reason (she was accusing my mom of lying for her reason to come to london for Brain tumour checkup).
her co-worker finally came over to let us through against that lady's wishes-- she wanted to hold us back to be questioned.
Crazy. My mom was so calm and polite and nice, too

My mother doesn't have internet or even a smart phone. She's never even sent a text, or used a computer in her life.
She lives alone in her 80s.
I'm not sure how we will do Easter.

Also means I can’t get unemployment at all now.
If you go to work, take all the extra precautions you can there and upon returning home. I outlined a bunch of the recommended best practices about disinfecting your clothes/self/items brought into the home a few posts ago. I sincerely hope you read them and do your part to keep from accidentally bringing this thing home.

The reason this is happening is because the human race is a big fat worthless bunch of parasites and the world is purging itself.
Humans have no reason to exist. We are worthless.
I only have two choices: Get the virus and die, or wait for everyone else to die first. Or kill myself and get it over with faster. What's the point of reaching death the slow and painful way when you can get there fast?
Also means I can’t get unemployment at all now.

I can’t take any precautions at work, my work is conservative, most think this is fake or no worse then cold or flue. It’s go one like nothing is different.
I’ll probably just lose my job with no unemployment

But you Can take precautions at work. Wash your hands with soap & water for 20 seconds at every opportunity. Avoid touching your face/mouth/nose/eyes.
Avoid touching anything you don’t have to, especially things like hand rails and door handles that everyone else touches. Practice proper social distancing as much as possible. Etc.
Just because your work culture is dismissive of science and facts doesn’t mean that there’s nothing you can personally do there as a precaution to avoid getting sick.
You Can do some things at work. And you have 100% control over what you do at home - like stripping down and washing the clothes you wore to work in hot water and soap Right Away and showering up like you’re scrubbing in for surgery.

I have to interact with loads of customers with less then 2’ apart, touching things they just touched over and over and over. I only get one 10 min break.
Retail isn’t able to operate with social distancing

You can still keep your hands off your face. You can still avoid touching things as much as possible. Use a shoulder to open a sliding door, for example. Then strip when you come home. Wash all your work clothes, take a shower and especially wash your hands when you can.
It is about minimizing exposure, not eliminating it.

Retail isn’t able to operate with social distancing
It’s operating here with social distancing, so why not there?
Some stores are online order and pickup at the front of the store only.
Many stores are limited to 50 people inside Max and people are told to stay 6 feet apart.
My friend walked to a video game store he had put a deposit on Animal Crossing at to pick up the game the day it was released. He’s worried about corona. I told him if there’s a lineup, turn around and walk home and go again some other time. He told me after that he got there before the true crowds And sent me a pic of his feet placed inside a masking tape square on the floor and someone else’ feet in another square up ahead of him - people being kept distanced apart while in the lineup to pay.
I haven’t been to any stores at all since all of this started but I have seen the pics of lineups and crowds at Costco panic buying. Covidiots.
Anyways, retail is not some super special industry where people have to hold hands like grocery shopping is a religious ceremony. It is entirely possible for people to keep a safe and respectful distance from others. It’s being done here in many retail stores and can be done anywhere.

Yep, all of this. Could also wear disposable gloves. A mask if it’s available etc. Alcohol hand gel sanitizer in your pocket to disinfect between washroom breaks.

Sly I took this picture about two weeks ago in a pharmacy. That was when the rules were a little softer and people could be one meter apart. I'm sure your employer could limit the number of people in any section and also put signs like this on the floor at 2 m apart.
That being said I still don't understand for the life of me why a gun store needs to be open. (Ever).

Cause they think it’s fake or overblown and don’t care.
No one is social distancing here, no one is following the tapped out lines to distance, they think it’s fake and we should have everything open as normal, who cares if old or disabled people die.
It is about minimizing exposure, not eliminating it.

The people who wore gloves are mocked and mad fun if behind their backs. They’re now outcasts. I’d rather quit then deal with that.

All stores have those here but people don’t use them, police won’t enforce the rules, so there’s no trouble for those who aren’t doing social distancing, which is most everyone.
Nothing short of martial law and national guard on the streets will make people take this seriously here.
Stores are packed here and peiple don’t care. I try to stay away but people will just go right up to you and shop. I felt trapped in a food aisle. Everyone looked weird at me for wearing gloves. One girl and her family who knows my sister made fun of us.
I dont know how people on Portland are doing since it’s hit there, but here people think it’s a joke and stupid.
