Dear Lord,

Thanks for answering the prayers of the people of Walker, Montgomery, Grimes, Waller, and Bastrop counties. You gave them the rain they needed for you to quash the wildfires in those places. And continue to enrich their lives during this time. Amen.

Tim

I've just had a slight argument with a friend who was concerned about the way in which I'm dealing with my depression, I'm actually sparking with fury at some of the things she ended up saying, and it feels utterly fantastic in comparison to the emptiness that stops me getting out of bed with increasing frequency these days

not that I'd advocate forgetting to renew your AD prescription before it runs out and refusing to call it an emergency (because it's not, I'd be lying if I told them it was) in order to get a sooner doctors appointment for more as a positive response to depression :P

today i campained in the student elections for the first time. i am actually running for a spot in the student representative council but not for real. i mean i have no chance of winning and am doing it just to support the people i am with. it was fun after i got over the original urge to vomit on people... it felt satisfying walking people up to the line and having them vote for us and arguing with the right wingers who try to destroy your vote if it looks serious(i feel sorry for the voters. they are caught in the middle sometimes and look confused). it was also good that a couple of people came up to you without you having to attack them with fliers and recite your spiel to get them to vote. they were like "i think i've seen you at the library. yeah i'll vote for you." because i'm with the anti racism club, we do stuff in front of the library and we are all in the elections and i guess people recognise us a little. it's good to know we are making a difference. the only bad thing that happened in relation to that is that a women walks up to me and asks if im mireilles daughter. and i'm like f!@# she recognises me. she was my dads aunts grandkid. i managed to convince her she had me mistaken for somebody else. this worrys me because i'm trying to hide this stuff from my parents and this could get me in deep trouble. next family gathering is going to be awkward.

i just came back from the occupy sydney thing where we occupied martin place. sometimes people are jerks and they get you down but other times they are the most amazing force. going to martin place occupation and just watching the people cooperate and help each other and pitch in with food, funds, water, play music for each other and start doing the dabke (arabic dance) give speeches, impromptu poetry readings and the whole crowd randomly singing gloria gaynors i will survive and that random marching band, humans surprise me sometimes and impress me and i love that they can do that. it was so beautiful. the organisation i was with was awesome by themselves too. we had a fairly successful workshop on why capitalism sucks, we talked, one of our comrades sang some awesome political songs that he himself wrote (he was quite good- they were funny), some of us cracked out guitars and sang from little things big things grow, and when my phone ran out of credit and my dad called a comrade helped me cover up where i really was(not the movies) and we had chocolate together and i gotta say i know i'm biased but no one knows how to set up a camp and make banners better than socialists. ours was a lively camp. i wish i were still there with them. thank you americans for starting it with wall street and thank you arab spring for inspiring that.

Things to rave about: (1) Coffee, (2) Soft ice cream, (3) Early Autumn weather in New England- This time of year is the only time with mild weather and the leaves turning is beautiful, (4) God- I go to church most weeks, (5) My kids- both of them, (6) Shopping for used clothing and books, (7) Labor Unions- I'm a union steward. I believe that no-one who works hard should be poor (8) Classical music (9) Oldies music (10) Classic Rock (10) Women- can't get enough of them. If I was a girl, I'd be a lesbian.

Oh don't be so sure about that statement, I've got a pretty good idea what you mean :D

glad it worked out.

And even if I'm wrong about my first thought, I've got another idea also.

My cousin's sons, 6 and 2 yo. They're amazing kids. Just they don't know they both have a bit of autism, neither my cousin nor his wife, hehe.

My day have been sh***y until about now. I'm installing Skyrim on my computer and reading my new shiny book by Rudy Simone "Aspergirls". I feel like I found home :)
