I was told nice guys finish last. It feels like I'll have to become an aggressive and anti-intellectual "bad boy" if I want love or I am going to go to my death single.

It wasn't really that. I never inquired about their finances. The discussions were either very uninteresting or too short, sometimes they said things like "White people can't decide we can't eat animals anymore." out of the blue, and I was disappointed how the women my age always had boyfriends or husbands.

might the support and friends (and their friends you might meet through them) be worth putting up with the downside?

I actually sometimes still talk to a couple that used to go to the fellowship. They left because they said some inappropriate things were being told ro the children as well as some domestic violence going on in the services and they tried to take a stand but few stood with them so they felt betrayed.

domestic violence in the services? what are the particulars? what were the children being told? unitarians' first principle is to uphold the dignity and worth of every person. very un-unitarian unitarians. i guess every faith has hypocrites. it's a shame to hear of them ruining a whole fellowship, though.

i'm glad you've kept in touch with some of the members.

I am factoring this into a possible next time when it comes to attending Unitarian services..

Very racist things such as ‘ I wouldn’t expect a third-worlder to understand’, when it comes to my mind regarding my mom’s discouragement of applying to a job two bus trips/~an hour away for a position, I feel apprehensive about.

Now I’m being accused of stealing and so I’ll have to pay their debt from my savings so there goes all 2,000 of my savings

+9 I dont know why either. Maybe because my illnesses are currently under control at the moment but I just feel quite happy. It could be the Ambien I took. Either way I'll take it.

8. Good food, drink, drugs, sex, and relaxation today. Would be a 9 but it's snowed nearly half a foot since Noon and I've gotta go outside and clear my car off and do some driveway shovelling so I have a chance of getting out in the morning. Oh well, first world problems. And would be a 10 if the nearly half a foot of snow wasn't constraining some cute young thing from coming over tonight, too. Ah well, there's always every other day w/o half a foot of snowfall.
