I totally agree with this. I like to explore and discuss *everything*... many people just don't seem to understand that and think I'm a negative person who just likes to argue because I propose alternate views :?

I agree with M I also love a good discussion/some would call it argument. As a rule I don't do small talk but I do love a good discussion. One question I have is how this is ever construed as rude? Has anyone noticed that you are only ever considered rude if another person has different ideas to you. What a crock! If you happen to have an agreement you all of a sudden turn from being rude to being a sensible worthwhile person.................what ego's people must have.

I like to go deep into things, not just skim over the surface, and by doing this I have unearthed some very one eyed people in my life. Those are people who just can't be bothered to think past what they already think they know. Or are so tied up in defending their own opinion for some emotional reason that they are threatened by someone that is an open and honest inquirer.

I always listen to people and consider their ideas, unless I get a wiff of someone with a very ugly agenda. I hear people out because you never know what you are going to learn from that encounter. I don't think you need to take everything as gosple but I always consider it. Then they get some of my opinions on the same stuff. Thats if I think it's worth it. Sometimes I just know if I open my mouth I will be there all day, so I don't even start. LOL

I have noticed that people tend to be more polarized in their beliefs, whatever they are.

QTF. I have experienced this many times on other forums as well. Its rediculous the kind of conclusions people jump to and then for some reason when you try to clarify or explain your position, it makes them angry and/or feel even more justified in their irrational assumptions. I do not understand this at all.

I would expect that their ego can not handle being incorrect.

Hi Aimless,

Sorry, do you not understand what I am trying to say? I realise you are possibly not from Australia so may not understand the expressions I used? Or perhaps I was not literal enough? I don't actually mean finding people with only 1 eye in the earth. It's an expression a one eyed person is someone like we are discussing, who sees things very narrowly and cannot take another opinion into account. Unearthed in this context means find

Or are you using humor? If so a big raspberry (not literally)to you!! !!LOL

Hi Southwestforrest and Tim Tex,

If you were refering to my comments I would prefer "PUPPIES" thanks all the same LOL

OK  I thought you were referring to male anatomy. I'm not familiar with the term but I didn't take offense, I thought you were making a joke and I was just going along. That's why with the emoticons I pretended confusion, shock, laughter and then a no no (in jest). With no body language available it's a wonder there isn't more misunderstandings online. :)

I support involuntary sterilization of those of undesirable DNA a.k.a. eugenics. As to that little dilemna of yours, if we did have eugenics, we could have a future where people like that didn't exist :D

I have to agree with SG on this.

Tell them to go back to England or even better Sweden where they can censor themselves....

It is totally irritating when you say something and people freak out because they think you said something you didn't even say.

When you write a forum post, most who read it will never reply. Write it for them, not for those who just need to say something in response.
