Thank god it's now mostly all fallen out and what's left has faded to a light brown. lol
I've always envied beautiful people; it must give them a massive boost to self confidence.

Also gives a massive amount of creepy followers who gawk at them and idolize them.

You think looks matter the most? There are people who are decent-looking and still have death wishes (like me). I've had people tell me that I'm too good looking to be single and guess what? No girlfriend and may never have a GF. My loneliness is the reason I am dying to get brain cancer.

I don't know how to make a case for myself being ugly, I'm exactly what I think of as hideous and I've had plenty of people agree to that. One of my friends who is vulgar and crass but who loves me has made the joke repeatedly that I'm the only ugly chick he would bang.(we say much worse things than that when around one another, it's just how we get on) I don't think a friend has any reason to lie to me about me looking homely.

I don't even know what plastic surgery could possibly fix the combination of flaws that make my reflection unbearable. I'm completely freaked out to post that, all of two or three people on WP know what I look like.

if thats what someone hideous looks like then either i have the biggest case of beer goggles ever (im sober), or i need to move to where ever you live that someone as pretty as you is hideous. More likely than not the whole joking you and your friend do is done as a joke, i doubt that person trully means you are ugly. Defeating humor is just something some people are known for.

This is crazy. I lost my head once over a guy who thought he looked like a moose. He thought he was hideous, but I would have given up on everything that was dear to me if I could have been with him. Heck I would even had given my life if there was a way to be with him even if only for an hour.

Appearance DOES NOT matter - if someone loves you they will love you even if you have two sets of arms and legs and really look like a moose.

I slept for a few hours. I think on average I get three or four hours of sleep each night.

It really is just a fantasy to imagine my own death, but it seems like such a sweet prospect. Everything just fading out, and then nothing and not even experiencing the nothing. It's not as if I'm imagining something better or different.

I'm embarassed I made this thread.

In my experience there's a low correlation between how good-looking someone says they are and how good-looking others find them. Usually this is with people saying they're ugly, but it also sometimes happens that person thinks they're good looking and I think they're ugly. (I'm willing to be there's research to back this up, but I haven't looked.)

meems, you certainly look above-average to me (I like your hair!) and others in this thread seem to agree. Of course it's possible that everyone, including me, is just saying so to make you feel better, but that seems unlikely given that we aspies tend to value the truth so highly. I know at least that I'm being truthful. (If I agreed that you were ugly I would have simply avoided replying.) So, whatever the problem is, I don't think it's your looks. It sounds like there is a problem, though, and I hope you talk to a good psychologist about it, who can help you to understand what's going on and get through it.

My psychiatrist already has his hands full, I can't pile this on. I have no idea why this feels like such a huge problem, it's not like I have a lack of real issues to cope with. This shouldn't be such a huge issue but I can't seem to get beyond it lately.

That's it??? No wonder you're thinking erratically - your brain is malfunctioning from severe sleep deprivation! Judgement gets poorer, emotions get out of control.... you need a good crash day where you can just stay in bed all day if necessary. Sleep, lady! SLEEP! :)

Some people make ugly work for them - take Clint Howard, Phyllis Diller or Marty Feldman, for instance. Courtney Love, Lyle Lovett, Steven Tyler, Iggy Pop, Donatella Versace, Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne, Tory Spelling??? How about Margaret Thatcher, Dianne Feinstein or Henry Kissinger. Lots of ugly politicians. I could go on all day.

Personally, I'm not impressed by beautiful people unless they have something of substance to them, but since attraction is initially based on visual presentation, I can see your point.

Whatever. If you're ugly, you don't have to deal with people just liking you for something that doesn't matter. Don't let yourself get hung up on it. That will stunt your success more than simply being ugly.

A guy who hit on me all night on Saturday at my friend's concert got my number from a mutual friend and called me to explain that he was drunk and he hoped I didn't take it seriously and basically called me hideous. I didn't need to know that. Now I can't sleep and I have a dental appointment in six hours. I didn't sleep all weekend. I'm gonna fall asleep as soon as they gas me. :(

ugh. Lack of sleep is making me uglier looking to myself. I almost made a picture of my face my avatar here and then I just felt sick thinking about seeing my face if I look back over my posts.

You need to hang out with nicer people. Your concert guy is a looser jerk. How rude!

They might not be particularly sexually attracted to you if you're spectacularly ugly though, or I'd imagine the likelihood would be less so, I'd imagine. That said, that could go for anyone I guess.

Why would you put your picture on the internet? Especially if you think you're ugly. People get a hold of a picture of someone and they'll do horrible, horrible things with it. Not only that, if you get away from those people. You've give them a tool to track you down and pile on more grief. Putting your picture on the internet is probably the second dumbest thing a person can do short of jumping out of an airplane @ 20,000 ft w/o a parachute.

Not sure why this needed a thread of its own. It just seems like a big attention seeking extravaganza opposed to discussing appearances in general. Like anything else, physical attraction is subjective. You may seem ugly to others or even to yourself, but there will always be people that will at least find you some what attractive. Plus, it is the person you are that counts, not how easy you are on the eyes.

Take it you're not a fan of facebook then? Sounds like you are pretty paranoid, or you have went through this kind of experience yourself. Hopefully its not the latter.
