ASS-P's response to " amputation " post .
..." drop someone " ???????

If you are mental they might have seperate housing. I'm sure you don't want to be on suicide watch.
Yet if you have to drop someone, they'll might put you in cell style housing with only one other roommate instead of dorm style with tons.
You have options there and get well fed.
At least it is a free room and board and roof over your head, food to eat, and access to doctors. If you have to go, make the best of it.
If you are opting for trail your jail stay will be longer than if you take a plea deal.

No, don't hurt anyone unless you want to get locked up a longtime..
We have a lot of homeless around here and some of them sometimes will get locked up on trespassing charges. If you don't have any priors i'm sure they won't hold you. You'd have to figure out what to do. If you break windows, remember it's considered a "violent" crime and you don't want that.
...At this point the court date is week-after-next , it's ( IIRC all ) with the same judge who had heard the original case , who apparently has a " hanging judge " repuation , and who rejected the first attempt to get a rehearing .
( If there's anything people need explained here , ask meand I'll explain later - I'm at an expensive Kinko's . ) In my 2nd attempt I emphasized how " I kept violating the stay-away-from-downtown order " and " I have numerous camping tickets " .
Now , when I came back up here from SJ after the summons for the later hearing followed me there after I left SC after the Jan 23d hearing/plea/release , any other reasons aside , it would be seen as following the " what your mama/Conventional Wisdom told you to do " wisdom - " Obey all court summons , you ceratinly don't want that on your record/to bounce back on you " - No ???
- As well as what the judeb had instructed me to do on the 23d . Should I have , if not dramatically rode a bus to somewhere else , ignored it and stayed in SJ ?
I posted about the scsheriffcom page , which links to the description/location of the two men's jails , and ecatly how to visit , send letters-stuff.........
I suppose I am in a situation where I am likely to do some time , if I do want to get rid of the probation/order , especially . Just the initial 20 days County that the I-wasn't-fully informed ( On stuff regarding my full legal options - I say - ,, either . ) . I daresay I'm prettty much stuck in the situation now , anyway :roll !
My bad foot might prevent me from this , anyway , but what sort of work would , especiall ynon-violent " old drunk/homeless/drugs " category falling into ( I have no drugs or booze prolem , but , let's fae it , I would certainly be seen as close to that , anyhow - Especially if I , bravado-ishly , have a PBR before going into court the morning of my hearing !
Hee hee hee . ) county cons , do ??????? Some sorta " swabbing/mopping the floor/trimmimg the walk " stuff , like I was in the Navy or something ? That's okay . ( I always - sorta - wanted to be in the Navy . )
Maybe I'll say more , but I want to get this up now...........
ASS-P, are you by any chance a Veteran? Have you ever been in the military?
I've lived in SC. Now i live in FL.
Also lived in NY (which is horrible if you are homeless)
However if i were you, i'd move to Florida.
My neighbor here helps homeless Vets and also other homeless people.
Without giving away where i am (Space Coast) Brevard County FL there is a lot of help for the homeless here.
There are abandoned trailers in the woods you could even squat in.
Don't pick ones near others though. There was a family squatting down the road a month ago, then someone snitched them out.
It was sad, it's a bad economy and the owners don't come check on the run down trailers anyway. Best to pick one abandoned around woods.
Google Satelitte map/aerial zoom an area if you have to.
Also in this county, there are a lot of homeless. Sometimes the cops lock them up (usually winter when colder) for trespassing. The get a warm bed and food at county.
Trust me, Florida especially Northern Brevard County (below Orlando) is a lot better for the homeless. There are a lot of events that go on that homeless folks can receive help.
If you have to do time, see if you can do it in Florida. They have work programs at the jail here.
Another thing is once a year my neighbor's group does a stand down National Veterans Homeless Support in which if you are a veteran you can get free health care (doctors volunteer on site), you have access to lawyers (to get rid of pesky tickets and such), you can get clothing and all sorts of helpful camping/military supplies.
For homeless that aren't veterans you can still get a lot and you surely won't leave empty handed.
My gf and i and her mother and mom's bf volunteered for this last year. There is so much, they have VA folks there, also dentists, dermatologists, the list goes on.
They also can get you information on things you might request about benefits, doctors, legal advice (they have the lawyers).
This NVHS is my neighbor's life, he goes out daily even early morning to make rounds to check on homeless and look for more in areas even remote to make sure everyone is okay and has what they need.
That is why i say come to Florida, it's very good in this county to the homeless.
...If you're not homeless now , have you been so in Brevard ?

The system in US seems to stink. (Only the rich seem to get away with anything they do!)
Here in South Africa they won't arrest you simply for being homeless and sleeping on the street: there is much poverty here but the police have better things to do than go after people sleeping / camping in the street or storefronts or parks.
Are there any suitable support systems such as shelters that can take you in, maybe you shou,d leave both SC and SJ and "take to the road" until you can find a town, city or village where there are not laws against "hoboing" if I may use that term? Couldn't you maybe manage to get hired as a live-in caretaker, animal handler, farm manager, etc? Which would at least give you a place of your own? I had a situation like this about eight years ago...
It's all a crazy mixed -up society but I sincerely hope you can rise above your current situation and be able to move ahead again.
...Well , thank you - Continuing , coastal Northern/Central California can be colder - and rainier ! - than I think a lot of outsiders realize , thinking of " swinging parties at the beach/cruising with the radio on " , which is more based on the movies/TV/records image of SOUTHERN California - People up this was at least occasionally get a bug up their arse to the effect of " It really should be two seperate states " and I often see folks wearing shirts legend'ed " Norcal " - for " Northern California " - perhaps with the California state bear symbol on it as well !
" Hoboings "'s okay - If anything , I sometimes feel a touch guilty that I shou9ld e" earn my keep as a homeless person/be a more romantic HL person " by...Riding the rails like Woody Guthrie/Boxcar Willie ? Hee hee hee . Yeah right .
There's some old American folklore about " the difference between hobos , bums , and tramps " somewhere...
As a HL person I rend to stay in one place , not walk around all night like other , especially backpack-bearing , homeless/" travelers ", types one sees here.
I tend to point to my Aspie-ness as one reason for that -
Uummmm , that aside , " hitting the road " - especially?? if you mean " doing so without any destination in mind when you leave " is EXPENSIVE , and , my Aspie-generally-like shyness and my not having any portable technology to communicate/try and link with people who I might could stay with/hook up/at least , say , " get a meal " from ( I better stop before I go into more " old hobo folklore " about cartoons graffitied on fences about nice farmers' wives and the like ! !! !!
he he he he he ) , um , would sure make meeting up with people hard
...........

I think Jim Reeves was quite big here years ago, my mom used to love his songs.
I do know that as you get nearer the Oregon border Ca. is rainier and colder than the south. I'm sure California is just as diverse as S Africa and it has about the same population as us as well.
Hitting the road does indeed look cool when seen in the movies but probably is more difficult in real life! (movies where even kids do it with kick-ass success abound). Easier for dogs I guess -they don't need dollars to go about!
Anyhow I hope things start looking up for you - at least the spring is there now and warmer weather hopefully...
You sound an interesting character; wish I could meet up and say hi in person...
...While I am re-reading this I will boot this back up , so's that people might be ready to " speak " with me...The thing is , while in downtown SC to-day , in the area I'm banned " from --- Suddenly , a cop was pretty in-my-face , for I guess the first ' real " time ever , about my violating the stay-away order , and furthermore , threatened to , if he arrested me , throw out all my posessions - blanket , books , bags it's in...When I pointed out that that would not be legal and that , furthermore , being without blankets , etc. could expose me to injury , even death , he said that he didn't care , that , if I wanted to kill myself it was not his fault , or similar language , reference made to " me being out in the cold " or similar --- His partner backed him up on these threats - The threats of throwing out my possessions and the possible death resulting from it , I mean . - saying " You should listen to him " .
So , the stay-away order - which I do feel is unconstitutional/illegal , banishing someone eessentially , from a town for repeated camping tickets , which is what it is ! !! !! !! !! ( Have I made that clear enough in my earlier posts ? - isnow being waved at me .
I had already been trying to contact my Public Defender for the upcoming (this next Tuesday , the 16th) , case...But , though I left her a message on her business phone 2 nights back asking her to contact me at my E-mail address (I pointed out to her that I do not have a phone .) , she has yet to contact me back , I was writing her this morning before taking the Post Office break that the cop's threat came at the end of ! !! !! !! !!
As of the last time I looked she had STILL not sent me a reply
! !! !! !! !!
Perhaps I should leave and go back to San Jose?? However , anything else aside , I do NOT have the 5 dollars the direct bus there would take ![]()
..The April 7th post where I refer to stolen sheets , BTW , refer to what was stolen THEN .
What I have now , and what the SCPD cop...#144 was his number on his uniform , at 2:00/2:30 PM PST this afternoon was when he stopped me and made the threats approximately...was threatening were more recent replacements .
What was taken referred to on the 7th , if it was taken by the police , mMAY be recoverable from the police property room at the SCPD police station , I recovers something from there before , now with this extra development to-day I am more worried than I was before ![]()
