...For the terminolgy , I think " group home " might be the American equivalent...
I have mixed feelings about , even temporarily , being in a place such as that - Frankly , I think things like that tend not to be (In the U.S.A.) able to go into very " temporarily " , it's pretty , if not LITERALLY permenant , once you're in such a place , it's pretty hard to get away/leave the place ~ Especially for someone such as me , who has no adult family anywhere who cares about him :( , and whose only income , really , is SSDI)...I just don't know , briefly :( - All other Yank posters here ~ Does " group home " seem the accurate US eqiv. to what Cher is mentioning ? Gaz ~ BTW , isn't " hostel " the more Brit-lingo phrase ?

uote="cherryblossom"]Me and my friend wrote about this in your other thread: We live in Finland and that there are places here for disabled people that are similar to dormitories. Here one needs to contact the social services in order to get there. Do you have a social worker? In those places we have in Finland there are staff around that takes care of the people that lives there. Could you live in that kind of place? Like we told they are only for disabled people. It is difficult to explain in english what kind of "places" they are but here are two pictures of it:

So do you have those kind of "places" in America for disabled people? How would you call them?[/quote]

...Well , so it goes , I've done it already ~ And , with the already-existing court things...........I really did mention Alex as the " get-me-into-UCSC " guy but maybe I didn't spell it out enough .

Oh yeah...that's true...Alex.

You spelled it out perfectly well. I thought "Alix" was somebody different. Product of an inflexible mind, perhaps.

Hostels are budget hotels for travellers.

...I think " Alix " is his company but " Alex " his name , I may have conflated that myself .
That's the meaning (Usually as " youth hostel " and fairly rare in the US as compared to I understand them to be that way .) primarily8 , I) think , but7 I thi0nk I've seen the meaning I've cited - what the finns discussed here - as another meani0ng .
(It takes a lot of time for me to correct slight mis-ty8pings and my8 time is REALLY li0mited , so can I skip correcting them now ? Please ?)
Likewise , I) was going to talk about " what I might do " re: the Monday court thing , and the T&uesday app't - Let me just say that I've had goi0ng to St7anford hospit7al - another county , however - suggested t7o- me .
However , especially if I try to do major things , I) COULD U(SE SOME EXTRA MONEY , to get cleaning up & clothes , wrapping some things up , bus fare , my deposits into my ATM , etc. done ~ In a loan to be repaid .

It sounds weird that you would never be allowed to move out of there. So we're probably talking about different things. Part of the "places" we're talking about offers only short time "care". Even if you lived there permanently in Finland you certainly would be allowed to move out of there if you wanted to. Here they would probably even help you with finding an apartment. If you had the same kind of "places" at least you would have a place where to live. For example my friend knows someone that lives in that kind of "place" and that has "only Asperger's". We can tell you more if needed.

Do you mean that you have been going to a hospital?

...Go ahead and tell me more , I have not been going ~ recently ~ to a hospital here , in Santa Cruz County/nearby , as the ones nearby8 have shown they will not help me :( .
I) may try to go to- another hospital , further away , but it would be money for transportation , not to mentio-n cleaning up and getting rid of my filthy clothes  , getting around once I was there - And I haven't decided where I should go ! !! !! !! !! !! _ and probably being not able , at least for a considerable while , to come back here to SC , so I would have to do things in the new place once there - And , I really need more money if I am to do it .
