Raleigh, the painting is gorgeous. Absolutely worth finishing! I hope you feel better. i don't know how i could have gotten through some of the worst of my depression without meds. If you need something, you need something. There's no shame in that--we put casts on broken legs so they heal. But i don't know you well enough to really advise you to take or not take meds for it.
You have to know, too; you know your body and mind...i am not trying to talk you into something you don't want.
i balked at taking meds for years but after taking them and beginning to recover from an approx 10 month depression I wondered why i hadn't done it sooner. It took a long time to get back to functional. For a while, i thought i would never be the same. I still have some things that have not come back completely, 3 yrs later. But i am pretty good and have learned to work around the things that are not so good.
I think you should keep painting, it is really beautiful.
