If people want to go then I'm not going to get all emotional and upset. It's a waste of time. People have their own problems and conflicts in life, you know? Some can't get a job, some can't do the things they have to do, others are being tormented by someone and some find it difficult bringing up children and even doing day-to-day chores. We're different people and we must all find a way in life. It's hard - bloody hard, I know - but screaming for people to come back looks kinda sad.

Don't you even try to pull that BS. If people don't understand, that does not mean they do not want to understand. I had to deal with this kind of thing in my past, of having everyone I trusted turn their backs on me, and when I asked why, when I asked what I had done wrong, they said if I didn't know, that was part of the problem.

Where do you think you are? Utopia where everyone understands everyone else perfectly? Point me in that direction, because that's not where I'm at. I'm sorry it has come to this, and it isn't that I don't give a s**t about how others feel. I do. Every single time I come to this subforum, I tend to get upset because I see others suffering, and often there's nothing I can do about it. I hate suffering, be it my own or someone else's. If you are suffering, fine, let people in. Don't act like nobody gives a s**t, and accuse them of such, and attack others because you haven't received the amount of support you want.

I've posted in the 1-10 thread numerous times. I rarely get a response. Did I go off and rant about that? Do you think it is fair that it seems like only seven or eight female members get all the support? I'm not saying that they aren't deserving of support, but why isn't anyone else?

I've probably ranted enough. Maybe I shouldn't have even posted this, but I felt like I needed to.

and sometimes you just feel like you need a break from WP.

WP will still be here when you feel like coming back. It will be the same, some members you like, some you don't. But don't let the views of just one person (who you don't like anyway) affect your decisions.

It's hard at times to know what to say. It doesn't mean that we don't care; it just means that we don't know what to say...

Personally, I'm always a little cautious when posting support simply because I don't want to be taken the wrong way or seem like I'm stalking.

I've seen what you're talking about. There are certain people who seem to attract tons of sympathy, whether they really deserve it or not. Of the main members who get this, I can think of two or three who I truly believe need/deserve that amount of support. (Does this make me evil? Possibly. Does this make me judgmental? Yes.) We're very lopsided in that aspect. While support is not a bad thing, it shouldn't exclude others.

Personally, I see two reasons for a leaving thread: either a, you're actually leaving and want people to know, or b, you want people to talk you out of it. I apperciate people who post for the first reason, because I can look at those posts and know what happened - ie, they have not comitted suicide or died or become seriously ill, ect - and I don't have to check through dozens of posts to find out what happened. Those who post for the latter reason tend to annoy me, since it's a waste of board space and serves no purpose. Especially when they've posted multiple threads in the past for the exact same reason. If you're undecided about leaving, give it a few days without posting and/or visiting, then make a decision. If you still want to leave, then make a topic about it. Don't tell everyone you're leaving and then post in other topics. It undermines my respect for that member after the first few attempts.

And if you really think you want to leave, then change your mind, tell everyone, and stop the discussion. If you can't do that, at least edit your orginal post so people won't keep responding with things like, "Please don't leave" or "come back soon," ect. Most people will understand.

The orginal post strikes me as hypocritical, and that aggravates me. A lot. I've been supporting, I've talked to Graelwyn when she's been down, and I've never been critical. I haven't judged her. Others have done the same. We do not deserve her scorn.

Hey, we've been getting gloomy weather a few times in the last few weeks on the Gold Coast...

And if you do emigrate, dear Kosmonaut, you'll be whingeing about the heat in no time. Australia is very hot, especially in summertime.

Fair enough, Rainsong. I accept your opinions. But I don't like it. Some of the harsh words in this thread are part of the reason I do not like it here so much as I did. I do not see why I should have to thicken my skin wherever I go, but whatever. I can just ignore those of you I find abrasive and harsh. By the way, I don't call adding me to msn then ignoring me when I spoke to you especially supportive. Not in the least. Sorry, but I think that was sh**y.

I am still around. I still look. I made one post. I am here, but not to the degree I was. I prefer to watch now more than interract. Also, posting this thread did not mean people had to respond. People could have chosen to ignore it and did so. Anyway, I wish this locked now as I do not wish more hurtful responses to something that, leaving thread or not, was posted in the haven. Have I ever reaponded to any threads in the way some of you have responded to this one? No. IF I feel I have someting to say to someone that might make them feel worse, I learn to keep my mouth shut and not type it.
