It's because peoples' main interest is themselves, and they like it if you ask them questions about them every now and then.

I don't know but it wouldn't be you. You come across as pretty normal on here. Sometimes threads just don't get replies.

Maybe instead of wanting a specific reply, you can focus your topics on venting things to help you form your own replies/answers. Think about the topic as you post it and let all those thoughts help you solve your own problem.

I dunno, maybe you need to make your posts more clickbaity. :P

On a more serious note, I tend to respond to posts that interest me, though I also tend to avoid posting if what I'm responding to is likely to incite a negative reaction. I don't like creating drama or controversy. As far as how I reply to your posts, I pretty much just see you as another member of WP.

That's what I do too. I don't use this forum like I do Facebook. I use this forum as a discussion place or a place I can feel confident to share my thoughts anonymously and see other people's thoughts and feelings on things. Sometimes I don't always even look at the username, I just respond if the thread interests me. If the thread doesn't, and I see that the thread has other replies, I tend to skip it, but I don't go around trying to avoid posting in certain people's threads just because that certain member didn't respond to my posts in another thread.

Facebook, however, is different. I use that more as a personal interaction thing. I scroll through the newsfeed because other people's lives interest me; their work, their kids, etc. But that's probably because I know those people offline too. But here, it is slightly more about me, rather than social chitchat. Just don't take it personally if I don't respond to every post. I only took it personally because I thought it was a little too coincidental to have 0 replies to a few threads I had created.

Like I said before, there is a certain member here who rarely contributes to other threads, just makes new threads about his disfunctional life update, and always gets sympathy every time, not that he doesn't deserve it, but if that was me, I'm sure people would still get fed up.

It's as though people see my username and think "uh, not Joe90 again". I created a thread in the social skills and making friends thread about 2 weeks ago and still no replies, and also one in the Haven (I think), and in the GAD my posts have been killing threads that were currently popular.

I didn't think group thinking was so common among Aspies.
And no, I'm not trying to guilt people into replying to my threads, in fact I actually feel guilty writing this thread, but it's a bit strange how my threads and posts have suddenly become invisible.

i wouldn't put it down to "group thinking". that term makes it sound like there's a conspiracy out against you.

i can only speak for myself, but that is not how i think of you at all, when i see you here. you were one of the first members i recognized on here when i joined almost 3 years ago, and so i think it's cool you stuck around when quite a few others haven't. i like seeing you around.

sometimes, people make threads and posts about things that have already been brought up and discussed thoroughly, and they do not want to expend energy making replies that say the same thing they have already said. that's one reason some posts do not get replies that i've seen, and it doesn't just go for this site.

i'm not saying this is what you do, but that might play a part, dunno. i don't really study your posts, but i can say you are not confrontational from what i see, and i like that. some others here are far less of a pleasure to talk to.

people like to talk about themselves, and what interests them. the most popular threads allow others to go on and on about that, openly. maybe take note?

then again, threads just don't get replies at all, maybe it just comes down to plain ol' bad luck, that your thread happened to be made at just the time when everybody else was already wrapped up in another discussion...so yours sank further down the forum, maybe down to the bottom of the page where it was even less liely to get replies...like some vicious cycle. :P

I'm not very good at giving advice either. I can offer emotional support, but giving actual advice is not a strength of mine.

I came very close to ending my life after Trump was elected. I have been in a bad place ever since.

I am sinking into this hole too. I'm not sure I can cope with a world where Donald Trump is president of the United States. My faith in humanity has taken a blow and also my perception of the U.S. as a leader in the world. I'm not sure which country will fill the breach, probably not Canada. Maybe Britain.

It's only for four years. He can also be impeached and he's already gotten in trouble with the law over his Muslim ban.

I just hope the backlash from his Presidency doesn't result in an even more extreme Democrat taking office, thus continuing the cycle and killing any hope of progress.

I'd like to add that this is an autism thing. I talk about myself too much as well. <-- Exhibit A

Pray that he doesn't get impeached because if he does, you'll have President Pence, who is ten times worse than Trump.

I don't think Trump is "in trouble with the law" because of his proposed refugee ban. Some judges just disagree as to whether the Executive Orders are legal. They are not saying that TRUMP is doing anything criminal.

Let me emphasize..I can't stand Trump!

Pence is a conservative--but he is much less a "loose cannon" than Trump. I would actually feel safer with Pence, even though his ideas are sort of screwy.

Hey Joe....I think you're getting a good amount of responses now.
