I have an anxiety/panic disorder and I'm always going to overthink things and worry about the worst. Sometimes it's a blessing, as it can help with problem-solving, but in other ways it makes life unenjoyable sometimes. It's easy for people to throw blunt cliches at me like "just don't think like that" or "get over it" or whatever, but that won't change the way I feel.
I've even had to unfollow the Essex news page on Facebook because every day there's someone missing or someone stabbed or whatever, and it was making me scared to go outside the door. I also get worried when I hear a helicopter hovering around because I think there's a psycho with a knife or gun running around.
