Which makes me happy. I intend to respond to it soon. It's very thought provoking.

What? You that thread was thought...oh, wait!

I wasn’t trying to post an adult comment. Just something random.
During the last US presidential election, I posted a question about whether Ivanka Trump is hotter than Chelsea Clinton. I was really just trying to communicate that I was sick of the election. Besides it's no worse than to ask whether Mark Wahlberg is hotter than Channing Tatum. All these people are celebrities after all.

And somebody locked my thread.

No, it is a train-wreck from which the collateral damage doesn't stop flowing.

Similar things have happened here to me as well. People get suspicious of others, see things in posts that are not there, see tones in posts that are not there, think a post is written about them, etc.

I honestly don't know if it's the autism that makes you to be misunderstood or if it's their own autism making them misunderstand here. This forum is full of gaslighting.

Misunderstandings always suck and it never helps anyone who has anxiety. Just imagine trying to overcome social anxiety and then someone misunderstands you, then you are back to square one again and it can take you months again before you try again.

I'm glad I started this thread because quite a few people have chimed in that they have had a similar experience here. This validates my own feelings, and I hope those who have experienced this sort of thing also feel validated.

I'm not mad at the moderators, but I think it should be recognized that autistic moderators will sometimes be making social misjudgments, and they should be aware of how it may feel to be silenced and shut down based on a faulty impression.

I know being a mod is a hard job and I would never want to do it. Maybe Alex can change how he chooses them and manages the community.

On a thread which is now locked, I complimented jimmy_m for being a very nice person (emphasis in the original). It was not jimmy's thread, but I think that's beside the point. My complimentary post was deleted.

Thanks BeaArthur. I took the original comment as a compliment. I take people at their word. So generally I don't get sarcasm. It flies right over me.

Changing subjects for a moment. There is one thing about this site that I find a little humorous. On the upper right corner are two hit boxes. One is called "View Posts Since Last Visit" and the other is called "View Your Posts". These are fairly important hit boxes. They let you view the most recent posts on WrongPlanet and they also let you monitor posts that you made comments on, to determine if you need to reply.

What I find humorous is that when you hit "View Your Post" it brings up a link called "search_id=egosearch". It is as if the originator of the software equated checking on your previous comments equated to stroking your ego. It really isn't. Rather it is a way of participating in the back and forth of a conversation.

Hi jimmy.

I generally subscribe to notifications on a thread I have participated in, to know if I have to reply to something. If nothing much is going on after a few days, I unsubscribe.

That egosearch code was amusing. :)

Apparently according to a former mod's pubic declaration, I get reported for being "snarky troll" all the time. I think most of what I post that gets interpreted that way isn't intentional on my part. Usually it's just me trying to get a point across.

It was declared in a thread. Along with other details only staff should be aware of.

I'm checking and not seeing any. Nor is spellcheck picking up on any other than our usernames and "umm".

It’s the type of declaration you made. You’re missing an “L” mid-word.

Misunderstanding happen on both sides. People report others, those others report people. Now it’s. Forum of reporting. I’ve been reported enough that I just report anyone who violates rules. Some people purposely break the rules and don’t care. Others might do so on accident, rules are also enforced differently depending on whose reported.
Still it sucks that’s what this forum has become and it sucks for the mods,

Mean some of the people here complaining are the same ones who report me for anything they disagree with and could be interpreted as a violation.
Leading users to try to use lawyer talk. Heck if I won the lottery I’d probably hire a Lawyer to reword all my posts.

Oh crap. I feel like I've made a pubic spectacle of myself.
