An interesting mix of everyday comfort, bravery and acceptance. Im not sure if I’m happy or sad after reading it. But poetry often does that, doesn’t it?

A comfortable life can be as oppressive as that of a bunch of chickens on a farm. ;)

Your poem has a delicate balance of logic and emotion.

Serene and wise

:|

In "dear Marcus", it is a book about a man that got shot when he was 13 and wheelchair. He forgave the shooter

:D  :x

If grudge holding was a skill, I would have a job

Without effort or awareness, I hold plenty of grudges for a long time.

A former medication instructor had the nerve to tell me that "we would rather not have you doing yoga. It's distracting."

That sounded like, we would rather not have you continue living. It's distracting. (Grudge)

Everything is grounding, neither or distracting. You can't guarantee just the first two. In 27 years, more than two people found it distracting that I continued living. So what? He acted like I had to commit suicide to satisfy them. Otherwise, "you don't care about anyone except yourself!"

Can't forgive

Can't forget

Can't move on

Cant get over it, repress, suppress

I'm glad people like my poems :D

Who knows? Maybe they are prophetic? ;)

"need" is a strong word

Some people do not forgive. And they are old.

Well I really do "need" to forgive. I'm tired of the pain and anger eating me up on the inside. That could be the reasons why I attempted to kill myself before...

ya, locking that s**t up helps in moving on. to a degree. giving forgiveness that was not asked for doesnt do as much as it could, sadly. (having one of such occasions right now, ya)

The problem is that I know from personal experience that most people never ask for forgiveness because when they hurt somebody they never believe that what they did was wrong. It's very hard work getting somebody to admit that they were an a**hole and wronged you.

Even when people actually feel guilt it's like they do everything but apologize. :?

Yeah you're right, victims often become victimizers.

What Twizty is referring to is something one does for oneself. What others do is irrelevant. Of course others will not acknowledge their responsibility. That is a given.

You can make your life better. Way more important than holding grudges.
