Our dad built a thing we called the 'Tractor' out of an old lawnmower. I guess it was a child sized tractor. It was powered by petrol and we took it in turns to drive it. Dad took us out to an abandoned airfield to have drives on the 'tractor. There was a little trailer on the back to put the baby. Being dad, and fairly careless about health and safety, the exhaust pipe ran right alongside where our little legs went and being the drive meant we ended up with with terrible blisters on our right legs. We didn't care. We would drive until the pain was too great and then hand over to the next brother.

Blissful times.

My brother and I built snow forts! We used to put old carpets, toys and transistor radios inside. We would freeze the tops of the snow with water overnight, to make it really durable. I was really into forts!!

My sister and I did that too! We each built a fort on opposite sides of the yard, and have snowball wars.

Haha typical! My dad told me it’s ok to let my toddler son play with my brother’s lighters because ‘he isn’t strong enough to turn it on.’
No but what is he does? Or the fluid leaks? Etc? Lol

I dressed up my cat in a small shirt once.
It was very loose.
She got out of it a few times, I think.

I spent most of my childhood on our cabin cruiser boat. I had my own bedroom on the boat, and I still remember the smell of the carpet and pillows. We liked going to one particular island where there was a slide and swings to play with. We could run around in our life vests and feed bread to the ducks. One time we moored overnight at an island with wild horses and rams. We built a campfire and watched firecrackers across the water. I miss our boats so much.

That sounds like an adventure I'd like to go on too.
I've wanted to have a cabin to live in. It's one of my dreams. And, a boat. But, I have no idea how to use one.

My other memory is corking, with a bobbin and nails. That thing where you make long tube of knitting. I would wind and stitch mine into little mats for my doll house. I used to like corking in my play fort or in the garden in my tent. (That sounds really naughty doesn't it?) 8O

My mum was this amazing TA at my school. She's on the cusp between being aspie and NT and she never had friends at school.

So she used to gather all the kids together and have us do songs like 'oranges and lemons', 'the farmer's in the den', 'okie cokey'. Things where the aspie kid wouldn't have to socialise immensely but would get some socialisation and which at about 5/6 years old wouldn't seem 'weird' for the NT kid.

She wasn't my TA she was the TA of a kid I knew with Down's syndrome.

That’s smart

Tug of war games at school
n with siblings n cousins

V fun memories

Making perfume fr my grandmother with my girl cousins. Naively we decided to crush various flowers n mix in water to make it.. it was not too pleasant but she was nice.

She literally did the biggest honour fr that naive creation
which is that she put it in the empty perfume bottle of her daughter (my aunt) who had died of brain cancer

I used to try to make perfume too!
I put sprigs of flowers and juniper in a bottle with water and a dash of almond oil.

RIP blooie's auntie.

I tried unsuccessfully to get my granddaughter into this on my visit last week. I call it french knitting. She was completely uninterested. What? How can she be related to me? It is the gateway drug of knitting!

She's clearly an imposter. Alert the authorities.

Wow Isabella I wonder whether other ASd people (females especially) are interested in that?

I still make my own perfume on occasion but with essential oils. Osmanthus is very good to use btw I think you would enjoy the scent. I think Chinese people also drink it in tea. They and English ppl traditionally have v interesting teas. So I also like teas from Chinese n British companies.

Memory- making A castle with a working drawbridge for Grade 4 project: making ancient Egyptian artifacts fr project too.. maybe others here enjoyed that too
