I’ve been cooking even more meals than usual - although I usually cook my own meals or have a home cooked meal prepared by someone else. Made a giant batch of gluten free pineapple bacon pancakes last week and took some out of the freezer and popped them in the toaster for breakfast today.

Heard on the news that Canadians are cooking at home more now than any time since WW2. Good! They’ll be healthier and wealthier for it.

Mailed off my 2018 taxes a few weeks ago and just finished filling out my 2019 taxes to mail or drop off soon. Slowly catching up on all my long overdue procrastinated paperwork. Looking forward to having a clean slate and clear mind. 8)

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I read that this March was the first one since 2002 without any school shootings in the USA. If it's true, then I'd say the pandemic must've had something to do with it.

My dad was preparing to fill out some online forms that would have taken him most of the day. The last time he did it at a government office at a computer terminal, with some assistance, and it took him over 3 hours. He had been procrastinating doing it because he knew it would take him ~all day to do on his iPhone 6+ - big for a phone screen, but much smaller and more difficult to type on than a pc. Especially for a guy that never uses computers ever.

Anyways, I picked up hid phone and asked him for info and finished it in 15 minutes so he could do whatever he wanted for the rest of the day. 8)

That was great. The other issue is that you understand the jargon and assumptions that creep into these Apps.

Nah, that wasn’t a factor - but something similar was.

It was a gov’t unemployment insurance application to see if he still qualifies for any $ even though he’s drawing a few different pensions. He Should, since he’s still been working full time up until C-19.

Anyways, it wasn’t app jargon. Besides typing and navigating speed, it’s simply that I’ve filled these same applications out a couple times this year for temporary layoffs so I already know what all the blah blah blah disclaimers and agreements say so I can just skip reading them all, scroll passed and click yes/next/submit etc without wasting time reading all the blah blah blah. He would have read every word to make sure he was selecting the correct truthful answers and knowing what he was agreeing to.

I spend more quality time with my family.

I've caught up with all kind of small things around the house that I never had time for.

We've been cooking more and experimenting with various recipes and techniques - great fun, relaxing and we enjoyed new delicious things.

Since normally I do a lot of walking and play tennis, I started a new exercise routine at home that I'm enjoying a lot.

I get more time to read and do other things I like.

Part of the time I've been more relaxed, less stressed and got a sense of achievement out of some hobbies I don't normally have a lot of time for.

I've been experimenting with some... supplements that are legal here

My pollen allergy will start soon, but I've seen a study claiming high pollen counts can inhibit flu-like epidemics so I'll take a more positive approach to a month of sneezing and swollen eyes :P

In some European countries, the demand for sex toys and other related things went through the roof. It depends on perspective I guess, but it's probably not a bad thing to relieve stress and improve one's mood

Nice Bender, you and Karamazov could start a restaurant together

In my building every time someone goes shopping/ on an errand, they post it on our residents Whatsapp group and ask if anyone needs something. It is really thoughtful.

Yeah, same here, I've been shopping once a week for vulnerable people in the area and others do it too. Also placed online orders for the tech-illiterate and people donated excess items.

All four of us cook and like it so by now we reserve "slots" for using the kitchen

Oh, I forgot: I'm teaching the cat tricks

That's really wonderful. Many of my peers are so afraid of Zoom and online shopping that they are really distressed. Fortunately I am a little more tech- friendly, though only marginally. What tricks are you teaching the cat?

Yeah, Mrs K and I are having to negotiate timings of our activities and chores to not end up in each other’s way with mutual frustration to boot!

If a cat does the same trick three times in a row, do we call that a Cat Trick?

We’ve been preparing reheatable meals for a friend who’s a key worker and currently on six twelve hour shifts a week, and Mrs K was doing grocery shopping for several elderly couples in the gap between lockdown starting and age focused charities getting their help in that regard up and running.

He already answers to his name and sits on command - now I'm using his love for cheese to teach him how to catch things in mid-air, you know, like dogs do

*In my defence, I pulled my back and have to take it easy for a couple of days and I'm bored*

^ sounds like a most enjoyable pastime

My mum used to take little kittens out in the garden to do you-know-what on leads she made from fabric off-cuts, which looked most amusing :D

How did you pull your back?

Last time I did mine I was trying to uproot a mature laurel with only hand-tools, not my best laid plan.
