You ever discuss with your the alternatives to colonoscopy, such as ColoGard? You avoid drinking that damn concoction they tell you to mix up to clear your bowels, and instead take a stool sample and send off to a lab for testing. My Medicare Advantage plan provider sends me a kit every year for testing.

I won’t be able to get it, just going have to hope I don’t have cancer. I dont know how I’d get a rid to it and back.

I’d have to take the bus which was unreliable before covid and now super unreliable as they only allow 10ish people on a bus. So any bus being full old cause me to miss appointment and be stuck somewhere

Bus
Taxi
Your sister bought a new corolla you said - get a ride
Uber
Lyft
Walk
Cycle
Hitch hike
Volunteer driver from somewhere - charities, hospital foundations, cancer society, Shriners, etc etc there are many volunteer driver programs that get people to medical appointments.
Horse
Donkey
Rollerblades
Segway
E-bike
Motorcycle
Longboard
Pogo-stick
Razor scooter
Heeleys
Gyrocopter

Better to find a way to get to a cancer screening appointment than to just skip it because bus service isn’t reliable.

The preliminary things you have to do before the colonoscopy are worse than the colonscopy itself, which is no big deal.

I had a colonoscopy about 5 years ago.

The "salts" that you have to drink to void your bowels is the worst of it.

Once you get the first colonoscopy done,
It isn't a big issue.
I was "shiting my pants" the first time, literally.

Lots of people go through it.
I believe there are few problems other than "polyp removal".
But I haven't Googled.

My recommendation:
Panic *after*, if there is a bigger issue.

I had the test done.
Blood was found in my stool.
No other option for me, after that.

The "salts". :eew: :eew: :eew: :eew: :eew:

Is it just epsom salts? I know they’re a laxative when ingested in high doses.

I think someone in the thread mentioned what it is called.
My memory isn't the best.
Someone will probably tell us.

Fleet, that’s what you have to be when it kicks in.
I had one years ago, they knocked me out and I dreamed I was riding b***h on a motorcycle and Oprah was driving.

Did you take Miralax/polyethylene glycol or magnesium citrate? My dad had to use Miralax for a colonoscopy (which I think is more common), but I had to use magnesium citrate for some other digestive treatment and it's something that is an actual "saline laxative", which it seems you guys were talking about. Incredibly sour and works ten times better than Miralax.

You’ve been declared disabled,right?

Have you tried applying for your location’s shared ride (aka paratransit) service?

I hope that you're able to make it to this, but also that there's nothing substantial found. I neglect my health to avoid having to consider these sorts of concerns, there's an inherent bravery to confronting a concern like this.

Would an uber/lyft/whatever else be an option for transportation to your appointment? If you're worried about not affording it, PM me the cost and it'll cease to be a concern.

Tried calling today but the person who makes new appointments wasn’t in so they call me tomorrow. But the waiting automatic message said it’d be 2-3 months out, so September:/
