Nobody wears masks in the town I live in, while all nearby cities have mask laws on the books as we have one of the highest rates of COVID per capita on earth [somewhere between 1-50 and 1-100 people have it or have had it]. I walked out of the local Subway sandwich shop when going for takeaway earlier as even the sandwich makers were maskless. If there's two things I can't abide on a sandwich, it's raw white onion and COVID-19!

I wear a mask despite my asthma. The rules/compliance around masks is a dog's breakfast.

The government has an advertising campaign where a girl with severe asthma proudly declares that she wears a mask and it doesn't interfere with her breathing. So if she can do it then the Karen's have no right to say they can't wear a mask because they can't breath. All good? well....no....

This argument falls flat on its face because i) people with even mild asthma can opt to get a doctors certificate which means they don't have to wear a mask for precisely the reason that breathing is impaired and we also know that ii) the government allows joggers and cyclists to not wear a mask for that exact reason.

I wear a bloody mask but when I am walking up a hill I roll it down below my nose so that I can at least breath through my nose. I have tried every type of mask and they all have that problem.

Another one for the mask myth page I started

Just walk around in a joggers outfit and if somebody asks you pretend you are jogging

The masks are so difficult, especially when you are breathing heavily, but they can save your life!
When the maskless jogger runs past you, neither of you knows if she (he) has or is incubating Covid.
Same with the bicyclist.
Same with the exempted individuals.
If you are not wearing a mask, preferably a N95, you have inhaled anything alive in their respiratory system.
You do not need to inhale 1,000 or 100 or 10 of the Covid viruses.
Just one.
Please be safe, please stay 6 feet apart.
PLEASE wear a mask

I am more likely to get the virus from others in the family due to circumstances then the rare few times I am in a shop. (I can't go in shops if there are queues etc so I avoid most shops anyway).

I don't think I have seen more than 1 in a 100 people wear a N95 mask, I certainly don't bother.

My neighbor across the street, knowing that I work in a hospital, asked if I could get him a mask.
I explained (long-winded or not, people need to know) when we come to work, every one of us must show I.D, then we are given one envelope for our shift.
There is 1 mask and a sticker with today’s date.
Tomorrow, another mask and the day’s date.
NO boxes of masks accessible in the facility.
Anywhere.
Seriously.
I told him this and he asked me AGAIN to get him just 1 mask.
‘The only masks any of us can get are the ONE we are given for a shift.’
Don’t think he believed me.
But it is that serious.

How do people breathe when wearing a mask? I either don't breathe and I start to fall on the floor, or if I try to force myself to breathe I end up breathing fast and shallow and I still end up on the floor!

I hear you.
It is difficult.
You are describing a panic reaction to the sensation of wearing a mask. I know panic attacks; I’ve been in the E.R. a few times with them.
Please find a way to protect yourself..we care about you. :(

I don't actually know what is happening to me at the moment.

I am unable to do simple tasks. I am wondering if I might be going through some sort of breakdown, or if I am being poisioned. It could be some sort of spiritual attack. I can deal with it if it is.

Well. Today I managed to do something. I repaired two little motor bogies which will be used in model locomotives when I am a bit more able to make my body work better. My memory is effected and so is my balance and my eyesight and motor control.

So I am taking things easy.

This. It took me months to get used to heavy activity whilst wearing a mask, but as the locals won't wear them, the hospital mom works at let her obtain a bunch of N95's for me to wear when doing shopping, errands, etc. As my seasonal allergies here [which usually run 8-9 months in a given year, not to mention the omnipresent smog], once I got used to wearing one my breathing has improved dramatically. I picked up a bunch of decorative masks in my [US] football team colours and logos, I plan to wear them from now on whenever possible, even after the pandemic has subsided locally. By the time allergy season is over, they will also be great for keeping my nose warm in the cold weather outdoors, when it's a lot easier for me to work and exercise outside. I am very happy that at least for now, I won't stand out in a crowd, any more than I already do, simply for wearing a mask.

I can totally respect and understand issues with asthma and oversensitivity. I was blessed enough for many of my oversensitivity issues to lessen as I got older. I used to not be able to wear polyester and had to cut the tags out of all of my clothes because they drove me nuts, but I've mellowed or become less sensitive over the years to such issues. If someone is literally unable to wear a mask for genuine health reasons, avoidance of others is the best medicine until a vaccine is readily available, but sadly [as cyberdad pointed out], certain individuals will use the real issues others must cope with to selfishly pursue their own personal agendas. It's frightening how many people around here genuinely believe that the pandemic is a government mandated false flag psychological operation set up to revoke freedoms from americans [these same people usually don't even know what the "patriot act" is, that's irony]. What freedoms they feel they are losing right now, I can't even imagine.... They're exercising their right to get sick and spread the virus to others without fear or favor without any local repercussions, that's for sure.

Good reading!
The last half of your last paragraph should be bronzed and displayed publicly or embroidered and hung up in EVERYONE’S living room!
