I have a lot less anxiety so far since I've been not taking my medication. I still feel super depressed, but it's like a different type and not as bad to deal with. I hope this lasts.

Less anxiety is a win dude. Different type of depression? Sounds weird. Did you taper off the Wellbutrin? I read that Strattera can stay in your system for 3 months (not sure how long it still affects you though)

Instead of feeling miserable and angry a lot of the time I just feel really apathetic and unmotivated, which isn't great but is way less intense and easier to deal with. I also just straight up stopped taking them on Thursday. I didn't really sleep for like 3 days but now I can sleep again and I just feel super tired. I think I'm just as productive as before though which is good. I'm sure things will still be leveling out and leaving my system for at least a couple weeks, especially since I took Strattera for 6 years and Wellbutrin for almost 1 straight year.

It still sounds sucky but an improvement imo. I think with Wellbutrin withdrawal, you can get insomnia and other symptoms. It's worth bearing in my mind that your current symptoms could be just be withdrawal and might improve. You will have a levelling out period. Never a good idea to stop some meds due to withdrawal and unwanted side effects but I'm guilty of it myself so that's all I'll say on the matter. It all sounds promising, though.

Glad you're feeling a little better with regard to your anxiety, FF. My MR has been on Wellbutrin for about a month and it's totally messed him up with anxiety. I hope they'll get him off it. I hope you can find a way to deal with the depression. Have you ever tried Omega 3 supplements? I know that sounds new age and hoaky but they seriously make a difference for me, even more than my ADHD meds. They do something for brain circuitry and attention / mood.

I was going to taper, but I wouldn't just man up and tell my doctor why I wanted off of it, because it made me have such bad anxiety when I had to interact with anyone for any reason. I also thought I was just exaggerating s**t this whole time, so now that just after a few days my anxiety is lessening I'm honestly super mad @ myself. I just spent a whole year with crippling anxiety for no reason. lmao

I also take Omega 3/fish oil supplements. I take stuff like that + folic acid and magnesium, because I don't eat enough but I also have noticed it helps my memory and other stuff.

Apparently I'm an a**hole for being an alcoholic and expressing my disappointment that a thread was created under the guise of supporting alcoholics, is now just in fact a thread encouraging drinking and casually chatting about alcohol. Didn't even say that it shouldn't exist, just that I was disappointed with it.

I agree with you. If people want to chitchat about alcohol, I think they should do it somewhere else - like in a different thread.

It's bothered me the whole time, but I didn't say anything because I knew I'd just get someone from the thread trying to explain to me why I should be fine with it and trying to shut me up. I honestly think it's just super f*****g trashy and triggering as f**k to anyone who would want to post there for actual support. Like I said, I would have just made another thread, but knowing this site the same people are 100% going to casually post triggering s**t on it, and I'll get told off and told I'm "bitching" if I say that's inappropriate.

The OP even says “let's all help each other beat the booze.” It’s really weird for people to post like that in an “Alcoholics Support Group.”

I already didn't really feel comfortable in it anyways after I got judged by a non-alcoholic for, y'know, being a alcoholic, so I guess I'm not surprised it turned into that. Couldn't have gotten more toxic anyways. lmao

If you don't like it just ignore it. No one's forcing you to read/post on it.

I chose to report it because I recognized that it could be harmful for members who are struggling with alcoholism/recovery/etc.
