I only really found it relaxed me and slowed me down. I never got high from it, just relaxed.
Once I smoked a heaps and it kind of stopped my brain from working.

All the pot heads I knew, get paranoid and unmotivated and they get depressed.

I think I am naturally stoned anyway :drunken:

All it did for me was relax me.

why it works for me:

usually I come home, get on internet, turn on mindless TV, medicate myself with food go to sleep

But if I have a couple tokes, I do dishes, sweep and scrub kitchen floor, scrub out bathroom, launder towels, put clean towels in clean bathroom, launder sheets, change bed, vacuum house, cook dinner, write up grocery list and press and fold my work clothes for next week, eat dinner, brush cat and go to bed after taking a hot shower.

I get a little goofy a coulple of days later, like sibilation, but it's a tradeoff to get the work done.

i am still experimenting with pot smoked it now for more than 20 years, 15 on a regular basis.
there are all sorts of different types that will give you a different affect. i have only just recently
discoverd aspy, i think that with my smoking before i discoverd aspy, i was trying to find some sort of relief from my
unknown symptoms and was trying to get deeper into my head and discover what was wrong with me 8O
smoking pot can give me anziety, paranoia, racing thoughts, lazy, reclusive, anti social an so on, some pot will increase my aspy
some will give me relief, for some reason i keep on smoking it, apart from all the odd or bad side affects it allso gives me
a brake from the norm, takes pain away controlls my anger helps me relax, focus and shuts out reality for a while.
some times its allmost like torture but once i get through the torture the good side affects start.
personaly i am not sure if its a good thing or bad thing, but some pot in the uk is not that good its to strong and grown for
profit and not pleasure, the only thing most growers are concerned about is profit, so every thing they use from the seed to
the nutrients will be as cheap as they can get,
if ur not having any general problems with life or in pain and you are inteligent, then maybe give it a miss or wait till ur over 20 ish

but if you do decide to dable be warned it can soon become an every day habbit, and being an aspy it can increase ur symptoms,
but caus ur stoned you wont notice. 8O

I tried it in Europe in 2000. I didn't notice any effects at first, so I had a little more. The effect was delayed by about 15 minutes at least. Too much! I felt anxious at first because I wasn't sure if the effect was still ramping up, or if it had leveled off. I didn't hallucinate or anything like that, but colors appeared more colorful and brighter. My heart rate went up to 120 or 140 and stayed there, but after a while I learned to relax even with that, and I didn't get a headache or sick or anything like that. The feeling of being too stoned was like having my visual frame rate slowed down to 1 frame every 2-3 seconds. My ability to process visual information was severely impaired. Images would persist for a second or two after closing my eyes or looking away. I was still feeling it a little bit for much of the next day.

I would not become a regular user of this stuff unless it was legalized and then I would prefer to eat it than smoke it. The problem with the stuff being illegal is that you have to be "street smart" in order to regularly deal in clandestine transactions, and you can't really trust anybody. Even the cops are just part of a system of abuse to which you put yourself at risk when you deal in illegal goods. Property confiscation, paying bribes to keep yourself out of jail, exorbitant fines and imprisonment, etc. are all part of the racket. Cops, judges, politicians and lawyers make entire careers off of unreasonable laws.

But of course all of this is necessary to keep people morally sound and protect them from themselves and all the subversive thoughts and things they might otherwise be free to experience!

It doesn't even make sense to me why it's illegal, while smoking and alcohol are legal :? They all can kill, and alcohol impairs your judgement too!

There are therapeutic effects; depending on the individual and any concurrent conditions, the pros may outweigh the cons. Having been through a gauntlet of pharmaceuticals over the years in various attempts to treat aspects of my problems, the fear and frustration of being a human chemistry set is something I can understand. Given the choice between another poorly tested medication that is going to cause heart palpitations, tremors, mania or worse - OR - smoking an unprocessed plant whose effects, at least in my past experience, were overwhelmingly positive - reduced anxiety; alleviation of systemic pain; reduced hyper-focus, self consciousness, and over-sensitivity; and a slight deadening of the 'noise' of social interaction... I can understand why one would make the decision to smoke marijuana instead or in conjunction. I've experienced all of those side effects and more as I've tried to get help, and it's miserable. That doesn't make getting high a wise decision... just that I can thoroughly understand the point of view. If it's something you are going to choose to do, please do so responsibly - protect others, protect yourself, and use moderation.

The laws are dumb and totally immoral. Pot was made illegal due to corporate greed and racism.

Anyway, I can get along without it, but I just don't see the point. Going without it is like having a black and white TV, it's alright for a short time, but color is better.

come to Oregon. We have decriminalized medical marijuana. It is a committment to get a medical card, but then it is not illegal to use.

Here's what it did for me:

Caused me to have a panic attack
Caused me to put a knife to my stomach
Caused me to nearly stop breathing
Caused me to cross a street without looking and nearly get blasted by asians speeding in their honda
Made my body temperature rise to 107
Constant shaking

Oh, for 4 hours.

Yeah, of COURSE marijuana is a completely harmless drug and it makes you feel GREAT!

That sounds miserable, and your points are valid. That experience is another example, and you're well to have come through it. Please do not consider me an advocate, as any individuals' reactions to a given substance will vary and consuming mind-altering drugs of any sort is a dangerous and inherently risky behavior. My point was more that I experience worse effects from the medications that are attempted to treat my problems than I did from smoking pot as a kid - and only that I can understand the viewpoint of someone who would choose to pursue that route if it worked for them. I would comment that although some of what you went through falls well into the realm of common side effects, I have not seen high fevers listed as a potential issue with marijuana... and limited examples in looking into trembling. That could be a matter of intense bad reaction, alone or in conjunction with existing issues; it may also indicate the presence of another substance. Either way, that is something that no person should ever experience...

I get the same reaction if I consume beverage alcohol, but it doesn't stop after 4 hours.
if you have adverse reactions to marijuana, perhaps you shouldn't consume it.

just a suggestion,
