:-)

I'm going to leave my chromosomes in peace tonight, I think. They've caused enough trouble for one day...

"Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana." - George Carlin, really, because I actually heard him saying it :-)

Esmeralda is a person with a stark genius for finding the right cat picture for any situation.

She has an efflorescent-type of intelligence. Sort of the Renaissance Lady type.

She's also very sensitive.

I hope she never thinks of leaving us.

Oh jeez. No, guys, you're being waaaay too kind.

I am a real PITA at times -

- and have just been proving it by being all didactic about moths and natural product chemistry on a couple other threads.

(ooo, looka da booful booful fuzzfuzz. Wanna pet that booful booful fuzzfuzz right on its fuzzy little leggys and fuzzfuzz its booful antennas, yes I do, fuzzy fuzzy boop boop. Yes, God help me, I talk that way to bugs. At least, to bugs that look like that.)

(The irony does get to me: how is it possible for an Aspie to be too didactic on a web site that is specifically a refuge for Aspies? Yet somehow I manage it. Sheesh.)

if you think you're a pita, don't get me started on "correct volume" or "stereo imaging."

Stan Freberg on Audiophiles...

But seriously, anyone with a copy of "The Portsmouth Sinfonia Plays the Popular Classics" ... can't be a PITA all the time!

This is for IstominFan... looks like the brown tabby boy I loved for 17 years. He was *just* that regal.

Edit in: oh squee, and I'm much too old to squee.

Ezra, I could hug you half to death. I have to go do some work (wash some siding while that side of house is shaded) and now I have a really good reward to come back to. This is fantastic (no, wait, that's a different Pratchett novel).

Thank you :-) cuz now I'm motivated to go get that thing done...

They're absolutely lovely, Kura. Very spare - clean, I mean, not overcomplicated, you can really fall into them. The harp in the Princess Mononoke theme makes me think of Alice Coltrane, and that yearning violin theme is just beautiful. There's a koto in that one too, isn't there? Has to be. The Name of Life piece is something I like to listen to at twilight - not sunset, the blue time after - that's what it sounds like.

When I listened to "Where Wishes Come True" I was back in Narita sitting on the hillside under cherry trees, 21 years ago, a time when I was content and very hopeful. That's where I saw the nature videos - our hotel had them in the guests' breakfast room - this music reminded me so much of the soundtracks to those (and those soundtracks followed me out into the garden. I was there in early spring, yes, there were cherry blossoms.)

Thank you. I should have said something much, much sooner. Hugs. Just lovely. I have them all bookmarked now. Even without having seen any of the animes, the depth of feeling in this music is just overwhelming. Thank you again.

(edit in: I haven't read the fanfic yet    because I'm engrossed in Yannis Varoufakis' real-life horror story about the Greek financial crash... I have to get that back to the library. They let me renew it, but it's an inter-library loan and the other library will need it back. They are next up, after I finish this. It's a grim book, I'll want an escape after.)

I'm glad you liked it!

I will confess I haven't actually seen Princess Mononoke yet, but it's on my shelf and waiting!
Spirited Away is one of my favourite movies EVER. It's one of those movies where you notice something different every time. It also contains one of my major anime crushes, Haku. I highly recommend it. I even have the art book.
The Place Where Wishes Come True [2nd version] plays at a very emotional moment near the end of Clannad After Story, and that moment does take place in a flower field!
