Esme,

That picture of the gray tabby you posted in another thread is absolutely adorable! I love tabby kitties!

It's been quite hot lately. I don't mind, but Boo sleeps a lot.

I suspect Boo feels more content now that you are both reunited.

Are you in the new house now?

No, we won't be moving until the beginning of September. There's not really a lot to pack; a lot of things are in bins already.

I can't remember who wrote this but I managed to grub it up out of memory after several fruitless google searches:
Image
Charlie's legs are brown
& his lips
& eyelashes
Charlie weighs ten
Brown cat pounds
Pupils running north to south
He often lays his brown legs down
In their old
Brown velvet
He likes to lay his brown legs down
& his lips
& eyelashes
Image

^^I did not write this and if I find it I will list the author and correct any misremembers. But I had a brown tabby boy named Michael, and I used to recite this to him, using his name in the poem. He died in 2000. I'll miss him until I do too.

That's very kind, AnonAnon. Some days I do a lot better than others. Hugs to you too.

We went to see the kitties at the animal shelter. There were four stripy ones who looked like our old cat from years gone by, Monkey Pi.

Me, too.

There was a very affectionate young black and white kitty. She just loved attention.

My Emmy is like that now. When I adopted her she'd been through something terrible, I have no idea what, and was afraid of everything. No scars or obvious injuries, she was just afraid of everything. 2 and a half years now and she's incredibly loving, plays and snuggles with Lulu, talks to me all the time. Still hides when I have company, though. And as good as gold when I take her to the vet.

My sister is volunteering with a cat sanctuary this weekend for a few hours. She has been looking to do this for some time and fit it in with her busy work schedule. So she is over the moon with it.

Unfortunately, she lost her eldest kitty last week and it has been a tough week for her. She has 2 other rescue cats plus numerous other animals so is not alone and takes comfort from this.

I have no doubts she will be coming home with another kitty soon. She already has her eye on a few before she has started work there.

Can you imagine working with kitties and not bringing them home. I think she will have to be very disciplined to keep herself contained. She is such a caring person, that I cannot imagine her not taking home at least a few of those needy kitties.

(thanks for the hugs too  )

Hugs to Esme and Temmy.

Is your sister an engineer, too, Temmy?

Awwwww.... I'm sorry for her loss. Glad she'll be immersed in cat love so soon after :-). I know, I can't stand leaving them behind either; the older I get, the more wrenching it is.

Hey Kraftie :-)

Probably won't be around much today. Errands & stuff :-)
