1960. I was born in 1961. I had the hippie ethos as a kid.

I knew what a hippie was. I understood about hippies on a basic level.

Probably not practical for ASS-P until he gets a secure place to live.

AP, KraftieKortie gave an explanation for you as to why you don’t have a laptop. With the estate money, and money you’ve not been spending from your usual monthly cheque you should be able to afford a 200.00 Chromebook. Exra told you all about them once. Youve been in the motel or medical care for months now, not on the street. They don’t weigh much so if you end up on the street you can easily carry it in your back pack. You’ll need to start using a pack again if you are homeless.

. Im older than you both and there was nothing hippie like about my childhood. Long hair and bellbottom jeans in my teens, but no expectations of something for nothing.

. No, in the post I quoted it was when he was still living with his mother.

AP, what college did you study at before? What did you study? Are you still interested in the same subjects?

Hippie isn't "something for nothing." It's much more than that. It's a "free love" ethos (maybe too free at times). It's about losing your inhibitions. It was a rebellion against the "middle class" values which were prominent at that time.

Hippies frequently just "helped out."

My parents were white-bread conservatives. My father wore a suit in the house, though he loosened up in the 1970s.

I never expected "something for nothing." I knew hippies who didn't expect that, either. I grew up having trouble even asking for a slice of pizza.

They might have had long hair, wore beads, did Buddhist things, whatever. But many I knew weren't freeloaders. They were into folk songs, and sitting around the campfire.

Since this is the Haven, I'm going to request that we all stop talking about ASS-P as if he isn't even here. Ultimately, this is his thread to rant/complain/whine in, and, if that's all he wants to do, then let's let him be.

As for the rest of the issues brought up in this discussion, yes, the mods are going to start cracking down on people spamming the forum with the same topic over and over again, and we're not going to continue to be as lenient with people who want to cuss-out other users and then blame their circumstances for their poor behavior.

Beyond that, let's stop bickering. Thanks.

[/MOD]

I believe the reason why this occurs repeatedly so much in the OP's threads and nowhere else, is that when people address the OP directly he often bites their heads off and rips them a new rear end. As a result people feel safer talking about him rather than to him.

If the OP interacted with users in civil practical way, people would be talking to him, instead of about him.

I have seen in a few instances where the OP has interacted with others in a perfectly ordinary manner. So I know that he is capable of doing so when he chooses to.

So the OP is to blame for this happening so much.

...Basically, I don't think I'm capable bodily of being Johnny Appleseed homeless anymore. It seems that I simply cannot wear a backpack anymore - It makes my back hurt too much :( . Furthermore, getting off of ground-level is, for me, something on the level of looking like Lon Chaney Sr. playing a pathetic cripple.
When I was staying at that Sally Army shelter, and carried a big frame backpack around all day - It hurt, at least at times, like f**k :(.
As I mentioned elsewhere, I ventured into buying pot edibles, with this as my excuse - I concentrated more on medical-oriented (getting entered at the pot store as a medically-oriented customer and tending towards pain relief/helping sleep-oriented cannabis incidia stuff more than highness-oriented cannabis sativa) stuff, but bought a considerable bit of munchies - some pot-infused pretzels, some fruit drink comparable to Snapple or Brisk, some gummi candies and lozenges. They're presumably all back at the room - except that the pretzels appeared to have been, presumably accidently, thrown away by the clean-up woman :( .
Except for the refrigerated drink, they were all together in one bag.

Hi ASS-P, I'm having mental health issues and needing to retreat again for a while (in case you wondered why I randomly disappeared) - but wanted to say you are in my thoughts, and I'm wishing you all the best. Take care & be strong.

You have lots of good stuff in your mind, Ashariel.

I wish I had the good stuff you have.

Why do all the geniuses seem to be so perfectionistic?

If ASS-P wanted to say something about me, but not to me (talking about me in the 3rd person), I wouldn't mind. I would think he's trying to figure me out. And he's asking other people to figure me out. It's human nature to want to analyze people.

People do that all the time when they are analyzing people. They talk about the person in the 3rd person. That's just the way it is.

I don't deserve to be "called out."

I just looked at your 10 most recent posts in this thread. Not a single one of them addressed ASS-P directly, and the majority of them spoke about him in the third person.

It's generally considered inconsiderate (or in NT parlance, "rude") to talk about a person who is present, as if they are not even in the room. It sort of treats them as a non-entity, or unable to participate in their own conversation on their own behalf. Even if ASS-P doesn't mind you analyzing him, it's still poor form, and should not be tolerated in a forum like this because others DO mind - it sets a bad example.

Anyway, a mod instructed us about this a few pages back and I feel we should follow those instructions.

ASS-P, how DO you feel about others talking about you in the third person? Do you trust other members to accurately represent you and your interests?

Hey there holier than thou, AssPs posts are not cool and would not be tollerated by anyone else here. You are right in pointing out that he is not college material, and these "uni" threads have been going on for at least TEN YEARS. Do you think that there should be special rules that apply only to this guy, because I dont. I think it is LONG PAST TIME for folks here to CALL HIM OUT, and for the mods to shut down these types of threads of his.

RRs efforts to get these transcripts will not get AssP into any school, because they are not official unless sent by AssPs HS to the college records office. So I dont see where this is going, or why its worth hundreds of posts over years and years.

You are a kind soul KK, but I'm a sarcastic realist.

There was a post today he wrote....which was pretty damn good.

It's in the survey-thread he started about Michael Jackson's dad, and what (the dad) might have "done" to Michael.
