Serious coronavirus thread. No deniers
I have a bronchitis-like feeling in my lungs. No weakness or fever for quite a while now.
Were you tested? I'm just curious.

You still feel like bronchitis? I thought your cough symptoms ended a few weeks ago?
I hope you get your test result soon.

Vaccine researchers and developers have been Crystal clear that that’s simply how long the process takes. They’re not stretching it out because they feel like it. They’re being realistic about how long it takes to first figure out a vaccine and then conduct trials and safety studies to ensure its efficacy and fitness for use on humans. You waning it Right Now won’t change that.
You remind me of unrealistic clients wanting my work to be done in a single day. Um, no. It’s not my fault you don’t understand that this is typically a 4 day process & longer the larger the job. I don’t care if you planned on painting your walls tomorrow; it’s physically impossible for me to do my work and have the material in each stage of the process dry and be ready for the next step in a single day. (Except for a small patch) Adjust your expectations to align with the constraints of the physical reality we are all bound by - including Time.
I’m not any more interested in hanging out in their building longer than I have to than these researchers are in finding a workable vaccine. It simply takes the time it takes and that’s that.

So sorry for offending you. I'm just desperate for an end to this horrible living nightmare, plus I'm suffering with severe depression and other mental health issues because of this, so I'm sorry if my posts sound too arrogant lately. Among the other emotions I am feeling, I am also feeling anger because I think that this virus might have been deliberate. But again I'm rather dumb so hopefully I am wrong, but the point is I am just not feeling myself lately, and I'm more terrified of losing my loved ones than I am about myself. I just wish vaccines took a few months, not years. Just please don't jump down my throat, as I did not criticise medical scientists.

I’m not offended. Maybe a bit irked by your anxiety and wanting a fix Now unrealistically, hence my comparison explanation.
I get that you’re not okay right now and that’s just fine. These are stressful times. And likewise, I would survive - my father may die. So my concern is for him.
Aside, Joe90, the last month or so I’ve felt I sort of owe you an apology for dismissing your early Coronavirus anxiety as being a bit “chicken little.” (In my thoughts, I never posted that.) Turns out that you were in fact justified in worrying about this.
BUT, you’ve gotta do whatever you do to calm your nerves. Worry and stress will literally deplete your body’s ability to respond to any infection. It’s much healthier to find balance, reduce stress and cortisol levels, and know that your immune system is strong and robust. Healthy diet, vitamins/supplements, exercise, water and rest should all help with that aim.

Well I am trying to do things that distract my mind from it all and that's all I can do at the moment. But with the news only reporting the bad stuff, like how many more people have died from it in the last 24 hours, how many young and healthy people have died, what it's like to be in hospital, how easily the virus is passed on, and how the economy is going to collapse after all this, it's hard not to feel stressed and panicky, and I bet I'm not the only one that feels this anxious about it all.
I am an overthinker, so my mind produces thoughts that are so distressing. Each morning I wake up and don't want to face another day. I am happier when I'm asleep.

We only just got TV (before it would only connect to devices) and the news channel literally can make a person go crazy with worry.
I had to turn it off. Many things they report in the most attention-getting way possible, and with this they're really enjoying trying to make news out of anything with the word Coronavirus in it even if it is BANAL arguments --
just to paint everything in that tone of panic, like 'twitter users said XYZ'.. shut up...if you have to quote twitter you're overstressing the point! You're a news outlet...
My grandmother actually got severe depression, diagnosed, from having the news on all day in her room.
Though she lives with her son and his kids, my mom actually had to fly in and help her. She was clinically depressed.

That’s why I put my phone down and red a book or turn off the news and watch a movie.. or go do anything else offline. Exercise, cook, whatever - anything but just consume more stress inducing news. Yesterday I walked over 16km to deliver Easter goodies for kids & adults at 4 different households. (Abiding by proper social distancing guidelines.) Smarties and chocolate bunnies for the kids and pregnant mama, liqueur and beers for the adults. Pick a thing, any thing, that ISN’T news/forums/facebook and go spend some time doing one each day. Even if your thing is to just soak in a hot bath of Epsom salts while listening to music and sipping a glass of wine. It’s healthy to turn the news off more often than you have it on. Nothing changes so dramatically in a news day that it’s
going to alter your daily life and routine isolated at home. You Could just go newsless for a day or two or more.

I agree. I limit watching news to 20 minutes a day at max (prefered less), otherwise we get cazy and being crazy in closed space is very hard to manage.
If you're not watching a movie or playing a video games, turn all the screens off. Find any activity that is here and now. How about knitting?
I quite xp-ed my Sudoku solving in the last few days.

It's not always easy to avoid the TV completely. If I had my way I wouldn't even have an TV aerial (just a TV used for watching DVDs or playing videogames on). But my boyfriend likes to have the TV on all day, and he doesn't like to miss the news, and I can't stop him. Yes I know I can leave the room each time the news comes on, but it's not always possible, especially that both of us use the living-room most of the time and the news usually comes on when I'm eating dinner.
