If you have lost toes due to glucose toxicity because of diabetes, then your eye problems are almost certainly related to this, and you can go blind because of it. You are at present in a hospital, so please ask a doctor about monitoring supplies and getting insulin if you need it.

GF, who said how glad he'd be if the things from my brother were 100% destroyed, now wants to paint himself as a great angel with this idiotic idea that a complete outsider can call upon the lawyer and tell him to " Mmmmmmkay? Just open those sealed boxes up and go through them and take out this, and this, too "? To an 80something?? lawyer? " He must have them all right there in his office and I'm sure he'll be happy to go through them and fish things out and repackage them and send those"! And he's going to listen to some guy from Canada telling him to do this. And he keeps insisting what a great idea this is and how much he cares about me.
It's a stupid idea and besides I don't trust him. Let him go become an accountant somewhere.

Perhaps you have a processing disorder that causes you to misinterpret the printed page. You seem not to understand any of the posts that are written to you, instead you accuse people of having bad intentions toward you. The suggestion by me that your eye problems are because of your blood sugar is completely ignored and you say that a doctor told you there are "cornea" problems due to "aging." It's almost like when people talk to you you have no idea what they're telling you and you instead choose to guess what it might be toward the negative.

So what are you going to do when your money card needs to be used again, leave the hospital?

...I didn' t say that diabetes was not a factor, I simply added some more Information to the discussion of the issue. Briefly, I was able to make a trip to a hospital park ground ATM yesterday and use it, thank you, so that's not a problem now .

I know I would feel relieved if I were in your situation.

Maybe tomorrow you can use your phone to call the lawyer's office and get the info you need about your brother's stuff.

The lawyer's office won't be able to act on any request by me without ASS-P's authorization, but I could make the call to negotiate something that works for both parties. I don't know if I'd be speaking to the lawyer or some staffer, but with agreed upon terms I could call and speak to someone and find out what's possible.

No, I don't expect them to have the box on their desk. But I could call and say "Look, you're tired of dealing with this file and the individual involved, so how about some info on the quantity of stuff & shipping." and if I find out there's a bunch of crap, I could (with ASS-P's permission) say "You want this file closed, ASS-P's in ill health and would like a what family memento photos he can get his hands on. How about grabbing those things & sticking them in an envelope and then just donate/dispose of the rest of the stuff?" and see what their response is. If they say it's all in one box & ASS-P can sort and throw things out himself, they just need an address to send it to ASS-P - then that'd be valuable information ASS-P could use for a decision, too. There's a lot of value that could come of a phone call - even if it's to find out that they won't even discuss it with someone other than ASS-P, then at least he'd know that and would know he has no choice but to make a phone call himself in order to deal with it.

You're a grumpy a**hole most of the time, but you're still a sick dying man & so if a few minute phone call could unite you with some family photos I'd make the call.

Or, since you claim to be perfectly capable of making a phone call yourself, make the call and find out the info & what your options are instead of waiting endlessly for an email response.

Also, I never said I'd be glad if your brothers stuff were 100% destroyed. Ever. I said you should consider the option of just torching the whole lot and letting go of attachment to material items you claim you're incapable of receiving or storing, as getting rid of stuff is very liberating vs. dwelling on it. That was my whole point. If you cannot have the stuff, sometimes a permanent solution is better than keeping your mind all worked up about wanting the stuff. I'm still someone who has a LOT of stuff to donate/throw out/burn or whatever, myself. I just know that when I've finally broken connection to material stuff that doesn't serve me or my life that it's been very positive.

As for accounting, it's not my career objective. It's a reference to the movie "The Accountant," where Ben Affleck's character donates millions of dollars to autism treatment & research. IF I ever make millions of dollars in this life, that's what I'd spend it on.

I do re all him saying something among the like of " Maybe the lawyer's gotten sick of waiting and destroyed your. stuff " perhaps with implied or more gladness about it, however, I'm not going to dig through all of these posts right now, so ! !! !!
