I do re all him saying something among the like of " Maybe the lawyer's gotten sick of waiting and destroyed your. stuff " perhaps with implied or more gladness about it, however, I'm not going to dig through all of these posts right now, so
Nope.
Here's my very first post in this thread, back on page 18 with the part that matters bolded:
EzraS:
ASS-P has been publicly warned in the locked thread not to request help beyond what is reasonable on these forums.
I get your position, truly, I really do. However, here's the thing: ASS-P's prognosis, in my non-medical opinion, is that he is going to f*****g die. Sure, everyone is, eventually.. but I mean sooner rather than later. It's unlikely that with his diet/exercise & limited abilities to follow medical instructions that his health is going to improve. With diabetes complications, amputations healing (likely poorly), congestive heart failure & fluid retention etc I will be surprised if he sees his 60th birthday in ~24 or so months. I'll be impressed if he sees another Christmas & New Years at the rate he's going. Yes, people with CHF can live for years with the right medication, diet, exercise, possibly surgeries etc. ASS-P is unlikely to do much of any of the things he should do for his health, and thus my non-medical opinion of his not-so-long term prognosis is that he is going to f*****g die.
Then there's the fact that he's been f****d 8 ways from Sunday in this life, too. Institutionalized, popped a bunch of meds to keep him under control that probably scrambled his brains & guts like eggs. EzraS, you & I and most others are fortunate enough not to have been dealt a hand that resulted in any of this hot mess of an existence ASS-P has to endure. I say endure because there's not a whole f**k of a lot to enjoy about it. I guarantee ASS-P doesn't particularly like being the way he is & not a single one of us would want to trade places with him.
He will never go to college. He will never work. The dude's gonna die & he wants to see his brothers photos. I get that, too.
I'm sure you're right, ASS-P, if you contacted the lawyer by phone and communicated with them the way you do here they won't do you any favours. However, if I get them on the phone chances are MUCH more likely that I can get them to do what you want. If it's hammered out clear as day what I'm attempting to achieve, I'll make the calls and ask the questions.
I'm thinking I will:
Ask how big of box there is. Ask if they'd be willing to open it, remove any photos/small flat things etc and stick them in a large envelope and have them mailed directly to you. I can tell them they can donate the rest. Then at least you'll have those photos and any other small items that can be shipped with them. They'd be small enough to keep in a drawer or in your backpack. IF they say they will only ship the whole box as is, just get it shipped to where you are, open it up, keep the small things you want & donate the rest to people around you or discard the clothes etc if they're not useful to anyone. Maybe they will pay for the postage just to be done with it and not have to communicate with you anymore. IF any one of us can persuade them to do so it's me. Give me all the detailed info: your name, brothers name, lawyers name and contact info, address where things can be shipped to You - whether one envelope or a box you have to deal with once it arrives, and I will do what I do: Try. If I can make something happen in one phone call, fantastic. If they ask questions and require further info, I can get back to you here on the forums and get and relay it.
ASS-P, you may think I'm a complete as*hole. But, I'm not. I'm not exceptionally wealthy - but I am compared to how I used to be, and I certainly am compared to you, and with that monetary wealth I make small charitable donations here and there to causes I care about due to friends & family who are affected by certain things. Muscular dystrophy, diabetes, cancer, heart/stroke, deaf youth sports, women's centre for sexual violence, firefighters fund/burn unit, my friends' party space that someone torched, gofundme campaigns for locals dealing with horrific health situations, youth homeless shelter (MY favourite - 7% of the general population are LGBT, but 40% of homeless youth aged 16-25) etc. Hell, I gave my dying father (cancer, not sure how long he has left - could be 5-10years, could be 1 never know) $5000.00 for his birthday in November to kickstart his motorcycle fund since it's the ONE thing in life he wants to do before he dies; ride a motorcycle. I earn an income (below average at present) & I will save and invest my money and eventually will become very wealthy over the long run, but ONLY so that I can give more than I do. My signature says "Aspiring Accountant," not because I have any intent of becoming a professional bean counter.. but because if I could make millions of dollars (never know! gimme 30 or 40 years and see), like Ben Affleck's character in The Accountant, I'd spend it on Autism research. I'm decades from having a fighting chance of attempting to achieve that goal & I have many other massive goals to work on in life that will cost HUGE sums of time & money, but in the present here & now moment if you let me I will give you some of my time to make these phone calls and see what, if anything, can be done about getting your brothers photos and small things to you. Obviously I'll need your cooperation w/ some details and information and so on, but I will do it. Not because I particularly like you (or dislike you) but because I truly feel bad for you & as much as I'm not a medical doctor and thus don't have a professional medical opinion, I don't believe you're going to live a lot longer and it's certainly within my capability to help you out with attaining at least one of your last wishes; to have those family photos.
As for the movie, "The Accountant," if you get an opportunity to watch it I think you'd really enjoy it. The lead character is an HFA accountant for mafia & criminal cartels the world over, and goes on his ultimate revenge killing spree of those criminals who've wronged him by killing people close to him. It's extremely well done & IMO Ben Affleck does an incredible job of portraying a very high functioning ASD character. There's more to the movie, it's plot, and it's homage to autistic people, but I'm not going to outright spoil it - just watch it if you can, it's an excellent film.

...The GF comment where he likely chuckled with anticipation at the thought of my stuff being burned by the lawyer/Bruh's person was a brief reference, in passing, I recall.
I wish he would just go the f**k away from here and all the people who love him so can start a Goldfish21 Admiration Thread
I will be sure to stay away from it
.
I will mention that I have accomplished/nearly done more than may come across here, with my complaining and moaning and defending myself against people's attacks and people perhaps talking about how wonderful they feel the people who berate me are
.
For example, I nearly did pull off getting the credit union account. I could have done the two different trips it would have taken to get that letterhead and bring it to the union, had I been able to go out normally
, and if I had been in better shape st that time.
I really am missing/have not done a number of various kinds of " important things ", the way things were falling apart in San Francisco when I left - I was reminded how I left San Francisco fleeing the possibility of Hot Team taking control of my money from me
:arrow - and I really did arrive with ultra-little clothes, one of the reasons for my going out. And, I still have many many tmportant things to do, which I do need the ability to go out to facilitate, realistically. no one much is going to do it for me, not in a " don't go out " caring place. And, yes, there's other things I want to do
! I am still imagining that " recovery shelter " (Recuperative Care Center) that I mentioned as coming down here for a possibility, for something immediate/now-viable, though I guess it would be shelter-style barracks/mass-style sleeping and, though I assume you could go out during the day, I assume there's be an effective curfew or real of 5 PLush when the last bus stops there and it's sorta run-down Army base/jail-looking (Maybe I'm stretching there,) and I tend to think there's no Wi-Fi there at all.
I really am, on the us side, heavily recovered now
. However. itremains to be seen how that translates to getting around in the day-to-day world
. Will I be somewhere I cal leave my things and go out? I gave to think of this
.

You are the only one who's talked about me laughing at the thought of your brothers stuff being burnt.
In reality, I suggested that if you can't obtain/possess/store the stuff, torch it, cleanse your mind of having to think about it even existing - it's liberating.
Your only job, still, is to heal. Don't go doing things that will set back your healing or get you kicked out of where you are.

This thread is getting into back and forth conflict, and however good intentions may be, we don't want that in The Haven. Please back off each other and leave it be, it seems neither of you are likely to agree nor change your minds, so just agree to disagree and leave this episode of conflict there.

Oh my f*****g God dude!
No one wants or desires to see your stuff burned. No one is laughing with glee about seeing your stuff burned. What GF was telling you is that you may have to be practical and chunk some of your stuff whether you burn it, trash it, give it away or what not. GF, as do I, wants you to be happy and healthy. There's no conspiracy here. No one is laughing behind your back as far as I know. In fact, the moderators have bent over backwards for you here.
@ASS-P - Where are you now? Still in the hospital, transitional housing, or a shelter?

...The above got cut off. I xpn'ydon't believe I put auofatipm marks around " laughing " of " chuckling " I don't believe I said that those were the literal words used.
I believe he - " humorously ", perhaps it will be said - said ligbtly/rubbing his hands together, so to speak - " perhaps it's happened "-type words. As a side remark. Whatever the actual, literal, words were.
I write this still in the hospital, RR. I am, as viable/what is perhaps best for right now, aiming for that RCC place for immediately outta here. I do look to to try and stay in SC -at least for now, especially with the thought of taking already made medical contacts further. I presume ''ll be getting-around healthier when I get out of here tan I was in early wo1i before I went in
I don't know how healthy/strong I'd be for being full-D homeless now
. I don't have a car, or a driver's licence anymore, and haven't for a long time. The womsn in the room next to me - thin wall - was detoxing from booze, looking for a spot in a program, now, to-day, I heard the word " shelter " used for somewhere for her??, I guess she is HL then. This phone is manifesting it's brokenness now
, at least it, presumably??, stayed going enough to
get this off.

So what are you going to do when your money card needs to be used again, leave the hospital?
I think he has mental problems that go way beyond Aspergers.
Looking at some of the posts in this place...People who clearly care about him post excellent self help resource links, and he snarls at them and says they want to control his life. He rambles about cell phones and "mineral royalties" and "getting a few things regularly". That's a strange phrase IMO. What "things" from whom? He claims he is not asking for money or material things.
He reminds me of a homeless man I knew who was pretty much unhelpable because he was in fact a paranoid schizophrenic who refused the proper treatments.

I am assuming that Wrong Planet is the only form of social connection that ASS-P has, and posting about problems is his predominant mode of communication.
I can understand that members (there have been many) who have offered advice and links in good faith over the years, hoping to assist, are exasperated by the rejection of their supportive intentions.
It might be better for everyone to categorise his Haven threads as his venting place. I don't imagine homeless life is at all easy, and I have never walked in those particular shoes. However venting is legitimate activity in the Haven.
ASS-P I am one of people who once answered a question of yours, years ago, about homeless support organisations. Your response was instantly dismissive and ungracious. So I decided at that point not to locate resources for you again. I assume that was the most satisfactory outcome for both parties.
Vent all you like (within the rules) and let us know what kind of emotional support you need. That's all that members can really offer at this stage. We know your story, we know your frustrations, we are sorry that you are unwell. At this point, suggestions from us are useless, and we can't change things for you, nor can members offer one to one support in person in your life.
It has reached the stage where members seem exhausted about your appeals for direct help. Share your journey with us instead, as it unfolds from here, by all means. We already know the back story, and the unhappiness in your past. Do what you can to find even moments of happiness and equanimity - a beautiful sunset, a kind doctor, a seat in the sun in a beautiful park, feeding birds scraps, or listening to an outdoor concert playing music you like. I know it is hard to focus on the good things, though for your sake, and mental well-being - this is an important feature to include in your life.
Many of us have survived truly terrible things. You are not alone in that. We have our sorrows and painful memories too. We can't solve yours, no matter how we might try.
She might have already been homeless or perhaps the cops had to take her from wherever she was living and she can't go back there. That would also render her homeless. If she cannot get in or doesn't want a recovery program after detox, then yes she would go to a shelter.

This is a pretty fair summary. He's a really rough communicating person who's brain, IMO, doesn't function well enough to allow him to make proper medical/financial/housing decisions for himself. ie I highly doubt he intended to self sabotage his healing by gorging on McDonald's, but he's impulsive, so he did.
He rants about others trying to take control of his income, too, and when I read that I tend to think "perhaps that would be the very best thing for him," as then he'd always have money for essentials like a few groceries etc vs. being able to impulsively spend it on some momentary whim or another.
I'm.. less nice to him, but I'm not a total a-hole. I just speak my mind. Others are very nice to him and he's still gruff with them. That's just ASS-P. Even when he's being a bit of a jerk to everyone offering their advice, people still do it because they'd still prefer to hear his updates that he is in fact healing, has shelter, clothing etc. No one here truly wishes him any harm. He's an interesting character and I hope my guesstimate of his remaining lifespan is wrong and he lives many more years, and hopefully happier than he has been once he gets his various health issues truly under control.
But yeah, your assessment is pretty spot on.. he's difficult to help, but still, people offer their advice in hopes that it may benefit him and he can feel a little better. It's a bit of a weird phenomenon, really, as I'm sure many people (more so NT's) would just tell him off once and that's that.. but here we are following his saga because it's a form of helpful interactive entertainment we'd rather partake in than watch Netflix or whatever.

Ok, what does he spend his money on? I read somewhere that he has SSDI. He is not paying rent, and the homeless usually have access to resources where they can get free meals at church pantries and etc. They also usually have free clothing for people like him.

While B19's entire post is valuable, I truncated the bit that stood out to me.
A few mins ago as I was writing my post above I thought about the University campus here where I've gone ~100+ days in the last year, more than 250 days in the last few years (because that's where the most beautiful beach we have here is - that's where I go, to the beach) & how if ASS-P were here, that's where I'd suggest he go spend some time just to absorb the ambiance & energy of such a stunningly beautiful place of higher learning. Especially since if life were different, ASS-P would be a college student right now. That place, that campus, is so magnetic for me I just love it.. driving towards it calms me, just being there energizes me. Day or night. I've never attended a class there, but someday. Anyways, if ASS-P were here I'd tell him to go there, especially in the Summer. Heck, there's a regular bunch of homeless folks at the beach that socialize with everyone else in the community there.
Google maps may be an option to explore the campus I'm talking about right from your phone, ASS-P. Look up UBC in Vancouver, BC, Canada & scroll around. It's a campus of ~40,000 people built in a nice little part of the Great Bear Rainforest (Pacific Spirit Park) right on the Pacific Ocean.
*shrug* If you can't get out, at least you could take a virtual tour of spaces like that. Just a thought.
When you CAN get out, though, man-o-man if I were you I'd be sitting under a tree somewhere on a local college campus in the sunshine reading a book. Even w/o registering for classes & working towards a formal college education, once you're healthy enough to do so, there's nothing stopping you from at least being able to be physically present in that environment and soaking up everything positive you can from the vibe around you.
And if it's too far of a trek for your health, start with local parks that are within reach.. bit by bit build yourself up until you are able to venture to ever better peace bringing locales. And then, maybe once you've immersed yourself in that world & breathed the air there long enough you'll feel up to taking a class - you never know. And if not, at least you'll have had the pleasure of simply being on campus and feeling that beautiful vibe.

I have no idea, I'd only be guessing. I have no idea what his income is nor expenses. Maybe it goes on fast food/convenience food. I have no idea if he drinks or uses any substances. But I have a feeling that like many aspies, if his phone/tech is destroyed he'll replace it before spending money on food/medicine/clothing, so that could be a thing, replacing phones and tablets etc. Again, though, I'm only speculating based on his posts. Maybe he spends most of it on insulin for all I know.
It would be very interesting to know, though. But that would be up to ASS-P to share. I kind of wish he would, though, so we could have a better understanding of what his income & expenses are, what his budget is or could be for things he needs and wants. I'm not an accountant & never will be, but I have taken accounting classes in business school. Most of us could probably analyze his finances with ease and determine if he truly has no resources to pay for things he needs or if he's inadvertently being wasteful with what money he does have & could better utilize it. For those reasons I think it would be really quite cool if ASS-P did disclose his income/expenses and we could have a quick look and see if there are obvious areas for improvement.. but all of that would be for moot if he wasn't interested in learning & improving.
I kind of think most people who spend money on things that make them unhealthier know damned well that if they didn't do that & spent it on things that made them healthier instead that they'd be better off for it - but due to their impulsive nature they're simply incapable of properly handling their finances no matter how hard they may try. In fact, I know this. I lived it. When my symptoms were strong, despite my business school education, I made massive financial mistakes and ended up $110,000.00 in debt & bankrupt. ~6 years later, now, I've seen my accounts shoot up to more than that in the black on the best days for my investments. I've gotten my symptoms under control well enough to make much smarter financial moves. Soooo, even if we were to successfully collaborate on a budget to help ASS-P out with, I don't believe he'd be able to execute it as planned w/o someone else actually being in control of his money for him - which he's refused at any attempts by outside organizations that help people like him with things like that. I think it'd all be wishful thinking and the only value to the exercise would be for us to understand how truly destitute ASS-P really is, or isn't, depending on what the numbers tell us and what he spends his money on.
