Big sigh. Another suicide thread.

Where people are lectured about the 'political incorrectness' by the OP for telling the OP don't do it, get help, call 911 or a suicide hotline.

When you are clinically depressed you are not thinking clearly about your life. Therefore you might think suicide is the reasonable answer to all your problems.

Yes it is your 'right' to kill yourself if you so choose and you won't be around to deal with the havoc it creates in all the people's lives that you leave behind. So technically the OP is right, but I still don't agree.

Maybe WP should start a suicide forum? I am amazed at how many people post here on this idea, statistically I don't know how many per month but it seems like a lot to me...May as well acknowledge it and start a forum for it. Though probably it would not be good for WP's public image as in getting buzz that, 'oh this is the place to post for how to commit suicide'...just saying.

My mother was an untreated clinically depressed parent throughout my childhood as I have already posted on another thread about suicide. She constantly talked about committing suicide when she was upset, which was often.

She actually did get to pull the plug on herself, when she was dying from a terminal illness, she went off her anti depressant, and naturally what followed after that was no more will to live. She refused transfusions, and died. And it was not a pleasant death either, I was at her bedside when she breathed her last. Morphine from the hospice nurse, but she did not seem at peace at all.

She also did not bother to explain to her daughters her decision. Probably figured we would say please don't do it Mom. She was 80 years old, so yes it was her call and the circumstances were dignity and quality of life and I guess she just wasn't having it anymore. However I consider it very telling that first she went off her anti depressant.....

So yes, I have big issues with people who like to discuss how and when they are going to commit suicide.

Life is sacred. Any of us could be gone tomorrow at the drop of a hat. You never know.

I don't envy how the OP is feeling, which is mighty bad, if suicide seems like a solution. I will repeat, get a new doctor, get your meds changed, life is a gift and sometimes it seems like a pretty crappy gift but it is what it is.

If you are going to post on WP about suicide, you must expect some people, hopefully the majority of the people, will tell you please get help, don't do it, change up your meds, get a new doctor and hang on. But at the end of the day, yes it is your choice.

I hope you change your mind.

I want to f*****g die but I haven't got the guts, no matter how angry I am. I can't cope with this f*****g snow any more, can't cope with walking on the ice and having these f*****g c***s giggling at me each time my foot slips. I'm scared I'm going to f*****g turn around and punch their f*****g heads in so much that they will f*****g suffer for the rest of their f*****g pathetic lives, but I know I will be the one put in prison so no I can't do it. The poor dears can just laugh their f*****g heads off at me because I'm that funny, the c***s haven't got anything f*****g better to laugh at so they choose a stupid f*****g ret*d who's foot slips a teeny bit on the ice. I f*****g hate being f*****g laughed at, I f*****g hate attention being drawn to me in public the f*****g snow makes my anxieties a whole lot worse I can't cope with living in f*****g Britain any more with all these f*****g Siberian winds every winter, causing this same s**t for me. I get in these f*****g rages and I upset my family, and now they f*****g want to throw me out because they hate my f*****g outbursts. Well I f*****g hate the outbursts too, and I admit it, I am a c**t, I am the biggest f*****g c**t in the whole world so I deserve to f*****g die so I can leave my family to get on with their lives and not have me f*****g screaming round their feet. I don't want to move out of my home because I am a f*****g target for f*****g c***s that bully me, young f*****g girls always f*****g laugh at me because I give off these f*****g vibes what I can't stop, no matter how much I f*****g conform to their pathetic standards.

Why the f**k do I have to f*****g be born with this f*****g c**t called Autism I f*****g HATE IT I f*****g HATE IT I f*****g HATE IT I WANT TO f*****g DIE!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! I want to f*****g kill other people for being NTs because I want to f*****g be a NT I'm pissed off with having everyone else around me for being NT and not having to put up with the f*****g s**t I have to put up with. I was happy all night until this f*****g snow arrived again it's going to go on for weeks and weeks and it just starts to thaw and then more of it comes down so it's all back to f*****g ice again and this f*****g country is too mean to sort it out like other countries do, and nobody is helpful in this f*****g country, they just point and laugh at you like f*****g 6-year-olds. I've now f*****g upset my dad, he frightened me to f*****g death (I am bawling my eyes out now as I am writing this) I am f*****g scared of him, he roared at the top of his voice at me, my mum is crying, my brother is laughing at me. But it's all right for them, they're not f*****g targets like I am, if they had to put up with the f*****g s**t I got to put up with other people then they would be f*****g joining me in screaming and shouting and kicking.
Now I don't know what my f*****g neighbours think, it's f*****g late at night and I'm f*****g screaming and swearing and they have a child in bed and they're probably thinking ''oh there goes that f*****g insane c**t next door again''. I am f*****g fed up with this f*****g insane behaviour but I don't know how to f*****g stop myself, the f*****g snow makes me so f*****g anxious I just wish I was f*****g dead and I bet everyone else does too.

Yeah also if you need help reaching the proper mood, maybe it just isn't the time to be thinking about it at all.

Joe90, sounds like you're in a bit of a state again, mate. I know you're feeling angry with yourself and frightened but suicide is not the answer. I'm sure your family dont want you to kill yourself, they love you all the time, they just get angry because you're angry, and its natural to get all angry when somebody else is extremely angry. I know you feel guilty that you made your family angry, and I take it wasn't expected until the snow came down heavily, but hey its going to be warmer next week, I doubt the snow will come back again after that, Essex only get one lot of snow a year, you are quite lucky really. And you know Britain, the temperature doesnt stay the same, usually is rises up and down especially when springtime comes because its a change of season; we could get some snow then it could be gone the next day and then be thundering. Its actually quite interesting to see the weather change like the wind (change like the wind, get it?? )

Anyway, please dont kill yourself. I know somebody who once tried to commit suicide but it didn't quite work out and instead she ended up in hospital in pain, and she wished she had just dealt with her problems better rather than trying to kill herself. Killing yourself just makes problems worse for people around you. I know you wont live to see it, but it is still awful for your family who love you. I mean how would you feel if one of your close relatives decided to go kill themselves, and you had to cope with their loss? It would be awful for you, so same goes with your family. And you cant kill yourself over a bit of snow, worse things happen in the world than a foot of snow. Think of the earthquakes in Japan. Lots of people lost their homes and their families. You're not going to lose your home and your families from a few inches of snow. I know road accidents can increase, but as long as people be careful and avoid going out unless they have to, then there is less risk. Earthquakes are much more likely to destroy lives. So just think of how lucky you really are. It'd stop snowing soon, there isnt meant to be much, and its supposed to thaw again tomorrow, only this time there isnt much fresh snow to thaw because its only a small covering.

I dont think people will spend all day laughing at you if you slip. People are too worried about themselves slipping, and besides, they dont laugh at you personally, they just laugh at the situation. Its like if somebody fell out of bed, you wouldn't point and laugh at the actual person you would just laugh at the fact that they have fallen out of bed, and they'l laugh at whoever fell out of bed, not just at one particular person just because it's.....that particular person.

Nature doesn't have a soul and it doesn't have a mind. Its part of why we (humans) are as f'd up as we are.

An honest answer - its not a mood. You'd need to be completely dispassionate about it, for a very long time, know exactly what you want, and know that it is exactly what you want, to be able to go about something like that peacefully or with internal acceptance. I entertained similar thoughts around the beginning of last year when I had a very thick wall of "My life is over" hitting me.

I disagree somewhat. You need to be able to get the process going. It seems like sort of an adrenaline rush. For example, I know I can be dead within 2 minutes. I've thought through it. It requires an impulse to get it started and keep it going.
The steps are:
1) Send a text to my sister to come get my dogs and avoid the garage.
2) Unlock gun safe.
3) pick a gun, insert a magazine (toss up between .223 and 12 ga)
4) aim at head and pull trigger

However, to execute this properly, I'd need to get the motivation to text my sister and then go through with it quickly before anyone could intervene.

That's resolve. A cold detachment. There certainly isn't much of an adrenaline rush, if any at all.

One thing I've learned over the years is that if someone is determined to die, they won't listen to anything anyone has to say on the matter. If there's even just a small seed of doubt, then something will get through.

As for the delusional comments regarding suicide... there's an element of that in many cases. People *think* nobody cares, or that they are this huge source of pain for anyone that gets close to them that they believe the world is better off without. They can't see reality for what it is.

That's true, and at the same time though it gets tricky when, for example, Will Smith in Seven Pounds, is carrying a sorrow of a variety where it doesn't matter how much money he can make, doesn't matter if he can fall in love again, and it doesn't matter even whether he can give a lot to the world simply by being a good engineer. It depends on the person and I could relate to him easily in the sense that in a lot of ways I felt like I had that same Bushido type ethic driven into me. Its not to say that the person on the outside isn't seeing things accurately, but at the same time the person on the outside may have a difficult time seeing their internal gearing or what that particular person is up against with themselves (and for anyone who'd say "Oh, but that's easy! They're them, they could stop beating on themselves any time they wanted to if they knew better", I wouldn't see that being you but some, that kind of philosophy is a definite sign of 'haven't been there'; ie. unless someone's taking being a goth or emo way too seriously no one likes feeling like crap or sabotaging their life for the sheer thrill of it and out of the blue with nothing to compel them).

I've heard a few people say things like "they like being miserable". I don't understand this, even when someone likes it, it's usually because it's comfortable. They've never really known any other way, or have forgotten it. It's an illusion, and can feed the delusions if they are there for that specific person.

Too often, I see people treating those with clinical depression as if they are all the same. We forget the person underneath the disease. You can't reach out to them effectively if you don't know who they are and what that means.

I'm sorry about my last post. It's just that I got so het up last night about the snow, I absolutely loathe the snow and I can't seem to deal with it. I read on several different weathers that there was going to be rain or sleet only here in the East, but it suddenly came down as heavy snow and it was all too much for me, especially because I wasn't prepared and so I went ape instead. I just didn't know what else to do. Then I had got all my family all mad, and my dad was in bed because he had to get up really early for work the next day, and so he flew down the stairs and shouted at me so loudly that it frightened me, and then that set my brother off too. All the while my mum stayed calm, but I felt sorry for her because she had just got in from a late shift and didn't need me screaming and yelling. Then it made me feel so guilty that I decided to insult myself.

I guess, but why should ethics matter at that point... do what you feel is right for you. It's your death.

Ethics matter even after we're gone. Good and evil continue without us. I think this is a very selfish perspective.

Ethics do not matter to the Dead, only to the Living. Same for morality and the law. As for being selfish, suicide is the most selfish action one can undertake.

Who do they owe so much to?

Themselves.

Doing harm to yourself doesn't mean it's okay to harm others.

That makes no sense. Do we call self-harmers selfish?
