Narcissism is a scourge in America...and an epidemic. Only way to counter narcissism is completely destroying her psyche and then helping her rebuild herself as a better person...which would be very stressful but seems like your personality type would work well for. My mentor did it to me and I am a strong bastard for a 17 year old. Just remember to make her own up to it and clean up her own mess.

You could also deny her "help" when she obviously doesn't need it and counter her lies. If she is doing this often it would explain why you feel so devalued. You could also try to force her to hear out your insecurities, unless you fear that she is manipulative. She would need empathy strengthening.

As for the shedding you when you were no longer under her parenthood, that is insidious and f*****g pathetic. And I thought parenting was supposed to have extremely strong ties of love....hell, my mother has borderline personality disorder and hasn't done that.
