When have I ever said that? Why are you bearing false witness against me?

for someone who isn't afraid to call people bigots, you're remarkably thinskinned :(

you won't stop pushing me and pushing me. you fit the definition. and I was pushed too far.
I didn't push you at all, except insofar as dismantling your arguments. If you're unable to tell the difference between refutation of your arguments and personal attacks, perhaps PPR isn't a good place for you.

the pusher never sees it as pushing. just as bullies never see it as bulling, rapist never see it as rape, etc.
I asked you to stop you didn't,you kept pushing and pushing. ppr isn't solely a debate area it is also the only place to share religious and gun hobbies interests. maybe you should learn to operate the topics. those of use who are religious want to discuss it with each other, why can't you just let us? go make a atheist only thread and discuss with other atheist about how great it is and wrong Christians are. We Christians do not want our beliefs refutated, so doing so after saying we don't becomes attacks. DON'T TELL OTHER PEOPLE THEIR BELIEFS ARE WRONG that is an attack. do you like others saying yours are wrong? bet now you talk about how Christians saying yours are wrong are attacks but do the same to Christians. wtf

sharing your beliefs and saying other's beliefs are wrong are too different things. I came here to get away from you, so please stop posting here in my have thread or I'll report you. have is not for debating.

Not really. It seems this thread has been completely derailed.

I have no doubt that you're a decent guy, sly279. I could say the same thing about most of the people in this thread, actually. Some topics bring out the worst in otherwise decent folk. That is why people do not discuss sex, politics or religion at most places of employment.

How would you define yourself outside of your opinions on religion, evolution and guns?

hard to define anyone outside of their beliefs, hobbies and personality. as that is what makes a person who they are.
think this is why dating sites and compatiblity with others is based on those things. mean what else is there besides those other then looks?

Personality means a lot more to me than hobbies and beliefs. It can take a person a lot further than those other two factors combined.

I activity bond. so you can't go and do a personality. personality is important fro being compatible but if you have nothing else in common then it won't work be it friendship or relationship. hobbies are something you can do together and bond over. beliefs you can share together and again bond through.

mean would you be friends with someone with a similar personalty but no similar interest and completely different beliefs as you?

The only thing I have in common with most of my friends is that we are all recovering alcoholics. We have very little in common outside of that, yet we take delight in our differences and enjoy each other's companionship nonetheless.

It might be atypical, but it works for me.

sounds more like an acquaintance. like if I only talk to a guy at a gun range and we never talk other wise and have nothing else in common, hes not really a friend just someone i know. friends usually have more then one thing in common. most my friends are into guns, videogames and prepping. we have 3 things or more in common. so we can hang out a lot and not get bored.

If you want to use The Haven to express your angst and troubles, then have at it.

But if instead you want to use The Haven to hide behind and accuse others of things they have not said or done, then maybe the rest of us should just leave you alone and let you rant.

I tried to explain the "Whys" of your dilemma so that you might understand, but you seemed to see attempts at giving understanding as "taking sides" against you in a personal way.

Good luck with that; I'm outta here.

you mean like the thread you're referencing with this topic, titled "Atheism and autism"?

I never told you your beliefs were wrong, where is this coming from?

Nah, these are actually guys that I would trust with my life, and they trust me with theirs. Our interests and opinions may differ, but we dig deeper than that. Our personalities and our empathy for each other goes far beyond anything else. We have aethiests and Christians, gun owners and gun control supporters, sitting together like brothers for we care enough to know about what each other has lived through.

It is possible, and stranger things have happened.

Tony Attwood, Ph.D., describes a specific kind of bullying of autistic children as "...to torment the child with Asperger's syndrome (ensuring that a teacher does not detect the provocation) and enjoy the benefits of the child's reaction. [...] When the child with Asperger's syndrome retalliates with anger to this provocation, perhaps causing damage or injury, the covert 'operative' appears to be the innocent victim, and receives compensation from the supervising adult." I see this kind of bullying frequently here. Taunting increases daily and when the targeted member retalliates with anger to the provocations, the instigator acts as the innocent victim.

your comparison doesn't account for sly being the one to lash out first. also, I think that it's pretty rude for you to be calling sly an infant.

you said you 'saw it frequently here' after describing kids being bullied. was this not the parallel you were going for?

people see things as they want to. I've never met a bully who thought they were bullying. they be like it was just a joke lol. but it wasn't. its only funny to them as the bully.

I'd never go and try to refute Islam with a muslim , they don't want their belief disproved. i bet most atheist wouldn't because they fear they'd be attacked or beheaded. Christians are an easier target due to most of us being non violent.

i came here because I was upset and felt attacked not to accuse anyone or I'd listed names.

My attempted parallel was the behavior not the relative age of its particpants.

AspieUtah called nobody an "infant."

Everybody's grasping for brownie points in a debate which just shouldn't occur here in the Haven.

This reminds me of when I was in school and I was bullied. I kept on answering the bully when I should have just went my own merry way. I suffered because I kept answering the bully, thereby giving him more ammunition.

The only way a bully sustains itself as a life force is when the bullied keep on feeding the bully.

This is a totally useless debate which will resolve nothing. The bully will keep on being fed. The bullied will keep feeding the bully.

Ah ok. Though I would point out that Sly got emotionally involved and started viewing everything as an attack before I started replying to him.

Character assassination shouldn't happen here either. Noone bullied sly, he started calling people bigots for discussing belief in a thread about atheism.

Yeah, I'm outta here, as well.
