Well I could tell that my NT wife was feeling the stress from the constant coronavirus coverage on the news and that fact that we were in elderly lockdown for the past week, so I decided she needs a break.

I pulled out my zoom-zoom car and dusted it off and we went for a road trip. We went all the way up to Indy and dropped by my daughters. Of course we practiced social distancing. No hugging, kissing or coming in close contact. Just a 6 foot separation. I think she was able to recharge her batteries a little and it did her good.

We stopped by the grocery stores on the way back. People began wearing mask, not everyone but about 20% had them on. I even saw some wearing N95s, I had a couple old N95 mask, maybe 10 years old. So I wore mine in Krogers, she stayed in the car. In the next store Sam's Club I put my mask on and told her, "You are actually going to trust me in Sam's Club!". She quickly put her N95 on and followed me into the store.

Jo Ann Fabrics put a call out for volunteer seamstresses. They would provide the fabric and elastic but they needed some seamstresses to put them together as face mask, so they could be donated to local hospitals and nursing homes. So I think she will be so busy for the rest of this pandemic, she will not even have time to think about the pandemic.

Remote schooling my children is weird, too. Making them work ("No, it's not a holiday to play Minecraft all day, do your schoolwork first"), helping and explaining, resolving conflicts between a gifted ADHD and a slightly spec-eded Aspie, keeping the house quiet enough so my husband can work and managing my own sanity in all this... crazy. At least I don't have professional work to do myself, so I can be a kind of... full time emergency family unit manager.

I'm only about 18 hours into quarantine, but aside from it being weird because it's unprecedented, I don't think this is so bad.

It's giving me time to work on skills that I wanted to, since I don't have to work from home during these two weeks.

Ooooookay. I know I am lonely but why have all the rats North of Tel Aviv decided to share my kitchen and break my isolation? Sorry guys I don't share your love of rodents. Ugggggggghhhhhhh. Caught 4 so far....... .. One remembers the Black Plague.
What will kill me is the bloody disinfectant. One woman here went to light the gas when she had alcohol gel on her hands and poof! Went up in flames.

I agree. Living in quarantine is awful having ADHD and not being able to go outside or anything. But, I have projects and hobbies, so I’m not going crazy. Stay sane!

I'm sorry I shouldn't be laughing but I am! Now you got company!

But seriously speaking, one rat could be a harmless coincidence, the thing just got lost or something, but if there are four, there must be either a nest nearby or something attracting them to your location. From what I understood, your country (or at least your area) is under a complete lock down, but maybe you could try to contact some pest control? Surely four rats is enough of a reason for them to get a move on; now is a really bad time for a rat problem after all.

...Or does any of your neighbors have pet rats? Maybe you're dealing with little runaways; that's not impossible, either.

They are coming from the drains and the municipality has now put poison down. My neighbours have them too. I have a feeling there is a nest behind my washing machine, which I cannot access, and I will have to catch them all myself. I smell a rat!

My wife would absolutely hit the roof!

She reacts with “eeek!” even with little mice.

Lol I'm actually quite brave  So far at least.....I have to drown them and say a prayer. Hope they decide to upgrade, my home is quite modest. Worried about them carrying Corona more than anything.

Think I'll get drunk then I won't think about them.

My wife is afraid of rats and mice. She absolutely hates and fears them. When she was a child she heard stories of rats that attacked and killed young infants while they slept in their small crib on the floor during the night. These were true stories. Anyways it is my job to take care of the problem. I do not fear them. They are much smaller than me and they tend to fear me. I generally don't see rats where it live. All I have to contend with are mice. For me it is like a game. I use several small mouse traps and use peanut butter as the bait. I set the mouse traps up like a maze. It takes more than one mouse trap because mice are very careful. They will set off one mouse trap without getting caught. But the shock of the first mouse trap going off triggers them to jump and it is the second trap that generally gets them.

One time I went off for a week on a business trip. Before I left, I had been experimenting with sticky glue mousetraps. I had one set up and sure enough it caught a small mouse. But I wasn’t home to dispose of it. So she took a pair of long pliers and ever so gingerly took the trap outside. She came across our cat along the way and reasoned it would be good to feed the mouse to the cat. The only problem was that when the cat took the mouse, the cat became stuck on the mousetrap too. The mouse was squeaking, the cat was crying. It was sheer chaos for several hours.

Although I do not have a problem with rats. Some of my neighbors who keep horses do. They use do-it-yourself (DIY) rat traps to take care of the problem. Generally you need a large 5 gallon bucket and a few other supplies. But there traps work like a charm. So if you are locked away at home under quarantine, I might suggest a DIY project. There are many YouTube videos available. Here are a few:

I doubt they carry Corona. It is said that bats gave it to pangolins, who gave it to people.

It is carried in human waste. In the link I posted from our health ministry it says so. If rats are coming from sewage then it is a problem.

City rats carry all sorts of diseases. I agree with you wholeheartedly.

What day of the week is this? You know when you are in quarantine, you seem to lose track of the day of the week.
