Try not to worry, the people making shopping so difficult are more concerned about getting booze. Things are getting back to normal and the supermarket shelves are filling up again with food, veg and loo roll.

It definitely sounds like a panic attack or possibly a meltdown. You'll be OK, and you'll feel better when it peaks and fades. You have a lot of emotion to purge. I had one Saturday and threw a plate at the wall. It wasn't my finest moment, but it got the job done in terms of releasing my rage about some personal situations. Boyfriend can't cope with your panic attacks? Then remind him you can't cope with him smoking, not working, and criticising you. When the panic attack wears off, I hope the situation will open a new line of communication for you two. Have you tried reaching out to your GP by phone? Remind her (him?) (your doctor) that you are autistic and you need medical advice for your mental health at this time. Perhaps they can increase your Zoloft or another temporary measure if counselling isn't available. Prescriptions can be delivered. This is a mental health crisis for you and you aren't alone. Many people are cracking under the stress right now, especially autistic people with their routines disrupted. Again, I urge you to talk to your parents as well. If you can't move there, perhaps you could stay just for a few days.

Please keep writing. This is The Haven and we're all here for you.

Oh, PS. Congrats on signing up for online shopping!! That was a major victory for you!! Now you know how. Baby steps. Deep breaths! Those slots will open soon enough, so don't be discouraged!

First off, have you done whatever self-calming stim works best for you?
Also, if you can sit still somewhere you feel safe and focus on breathing slowly in and out.

Samaritans phone number:
116 123

Women’s Aid phone number:
0808 2000 247
(It’s mainly for domestic abuse, but its 24/7 and they’re there to help)

Oh. He can’t cope?

With what, emotionally supporting the woman who keeps him fed and housed?

Diddums.

(Yes, That was angry sarcasm)

I’m off work this afternoon: if you want I can do a web search for bedsits/studio flats within walking distance of the bus depot...
It is Maidstone isn’t it?

(Your choice entirely, I agree with Issy, and am trying to think of a way to get you to a better temporary living situation without abandoning your job)

Please don’t scream out the window that you hate everyone. People should be spreading peace and love right now. I’m not sure how to get you to calm down though. Does your grocery store sell herbal tea? :flower:  :star:

Sold out.

I literally have never had the guts to do that in my life. But I done it because I was so frustrated with everyone emptying the shelves in the supermarkets and filling in all the slots for online deliveries. The town where I live is very big and overpopulated, so there's just not enough services to go round.

I don't really have a stim. The only 'stim' that does calm me is to speak to someone about how I feel. That's why I tried phoning whichever helpline I could think of on the spot but got nowhere.

That was what I was going to do but couldn't remember the name. So thanks for posting that, I will give that a go....unless about a million other people are doing the same thing.

I guessed. You do have a point, but most people I have met can't cope with my panic attacks.

No you don't need to do that. My boyfriend isn't physically abusive. Maybe he was worried because he's never seen me this bad before? He's never heard me once shout or scream like I did. He's forgiven me and said he has 4 cigarettes left and will quit after that, but let's hope he copes with that.

Thank you for supporting me in this thread though. Another 'stim' of mine is writing threads on here to express my concerns.
I've been extremely breathless today. I had to pick my boyfriend's prescription up from the pharmacy today, and I was still all shaky and breathless, and yes I got odd looks. I suppose everyone thought I had coronavirus, but I haven't. It's just panic.

^ okey dokey then.

Just make sure that he has nicotine patches to take the edge off the craving, and something to fiddle with: he’ll have oral fixation as well as nicotine withdrawal, and will need to do a recovering addict stim to cope with that.

I think he needs to learn to respect your emotional reality more: hopefully you can work through to that together.

It’s good to know that posting here and having our responses helps you. :D

That's right. I wasn't able to get what I wanted but I joined Prime and it arrived after 2 days.

They also have a service called Amazon Pantry, you need to make an order of £20

It could tide you over and keep you from having to venture out too often and you will be able to track your package.

But how do I know not everyone else is doing the same thing? In Essex there are literally way too many people and every possible service is just overbooked or overfull, there's no other option. It's awful.

Remember, these companies are busy hiring tens of thousands of delivery drivers.

Give it a try Joe, you will probably feel better once you place an order and know that it's on its way.

Please try Amazon, Joe. Order some things that aren't urgent on your list, in case they do take a while (things you will double up on, or don't need as often). You'd be surprised how quickly they might arrive. Amazon is doing very well staffing their deliveries. A lot of people deliver part-time for them using their own car like couriers or Uber drivers.

It's worth a try, to keep building your confidence.

Well I thought they were hiring lots of extra workers but every time I get online to order shopping there are still no slots available, which then sends me into panic mode. There probably aren't enough delivery vehicles in the world to serve the millions of people in this overpopulated country.

Make an account with all of them.
Then you can use whichever one currently has a slot available each time you need to order food & c.

I'm so sorry you're having so much trouble with groceries and stuff, Joe! :( I hope things get better for you. I understand how frustrating it is- I live in a busy, overpopulated city and am having the same problems.

How much food do you have? I am facing delays with my shopping, too and am worried things may still be out of stock and that I won't get them because of that. I'm trying to work out what I have in and what meals I can make with things that I need to use first (fresh veg and such), and then planning other meals with other stuff that lasts longer.

In my area there have been a lot of charity organisations that are doing emergency packs of food, there may be some in your area- I saw the information on Facebook for my area, but if you know of any local charities and soup kitchen type places try to see if they have a Facebook page or website. You could also try those local groups on Facebook.

There is also a number Sainsbury's now have on their website if you feel you (or your boyfriend) should be put on the vulnerable list and that should give priority access to home delivery. But it's been busy all day- I hope it's less busy tomorrow.

Hoping things calm down and get better!
