It is so marvellous to see you coming back to yourself.
I know you are not out of the woods yet but it is still wonderful.
Hope is still there.
I have noticed a slight improvement in myself.
It's new therapist day tomorrow -
I'm glad you're doing at least a little better - even a slight improvement can make a big difference, and proves that there is hope for things to get better. Good luck with your new therapist, I really hope things go well.

I'm glad you're home again. Will you be driving, or flying, to Chicago?
Bundle up----it's Arctic Air City in many places. Single digits for a high in at least some parts of the Chicago area.
I hope you get that computer!
We're driving. The car thermometer said it was 11°F when we were leaving, and I'm sure it will be even colder in Chicago. I have an uncle in Chicago who's really good with computers, so he's going to look at mine and see what he can do.

This is great news.
Hopefully he can restore your computer and reunite you two again.
I would be a bit lost without mine now.

I figured you meant Fahrenheit. My phone says it's -2 now

That weather sounds super cold! I never been in weather that cold and I don't want to find out! I remember in school waiting for the bus my skin would crack and I would have cuts on my hands and arms, that was only in 20 degree Fahrenheit weather!

It is good to hear from you again; you did not post on here for a few days. How was your Christmas? I hope you have a fun trip to Chicago. The weather is extremely cold in the Midwest during this time of year, and I have never been in temperatures that low before! Is it snowing where you are now, and do you need to use snow tyres or snow chains on your car? Are you taking Interstate 55 to Chicago? Sometimes, I hear on the news about roads being closed in snowy weather.
I have never been to Chicago before, although I would like to go there some day. I used to have a pen pal friend from Chicago, but I have not heard from her in over five years. I have also seen a lot of movies which take place in Chicago, and a lot of 1980s movies took place in Chicago.
I really hope this trip is successful for you & helps your mood & your depression. Sometimes, when I have felt really depressed, a trip really helped me & made me feel better. I was able to get away from home temporarily & focus on having fun, instead of being sad & depressed. I also really like road trips because I have an interest in roads & highways, and I also like to see what there is to see on the drive. I have also always liked staying in hotels & motels. The only thing I do not like about road trips is having to use public washrooms at the service stations & restaurants along the way, so I do not use them at all.
Hopefully, your uncle can repair your computer, and you can use Wrong Planet more often. I hope you have a fun & safe trip, and I will hear from you again when you get home. Have a happy new year as well!
300 big hugs.

Sorry about not posting. I've had a very busy holiday season, and have also been very low on energy for some reason (I thought it was because of my cold at first, but I think I'm over that now, and I'm still tired all the time
) My Christmas was pretty good, and the trip to Chicago went all right. We didn't go to the Shedd because it was really cold and we'd have to wait outside, but I was delighted that Merlin did well and didn't seem to stress the cats out too much, and it was also much calmer than I'd expected since we didn't go out and do much because of the cold. I think we did take Interstate 55. We stopped in Colombia, Missouri on the way so my parents could meet my brother's girlfriend. It did snow some, but there were no road closures, and it's never been bad enough that we need to get snow tires or chains put on the car. We did have car trouble, the day before we were going to leave, and had to stay an extra day to get that checked out. I think it was the head gasket that's the issue, and it was going to take a week and a lot of money to fix, but the mechanic said it would be OK to drive it home as long as we kept an eye on the fluid that was leaking, so we drove home the day before yesterday and my mom took the car to a mechanic here today to get it fixed. The trip did help my mood a little, I think, but returning home and having nothing else to keep me busy brought my mood back down almost immediately. My uncle told us that there's a way to get the little plastic piece that fell out of the charging port on my laptop back in, using acetone to sort of melt it a little, I think, but we hadn't brought the piece, so we're going to try that sometime soon. Hopefully now that the holidays are over I'll have more time to be on WP, even if it's just on my phone.

I'm glad you had fun on your trip! I'm sorry your mood dropped so suddenly. I was getting a little worried about you(I'm a worrywart, which is something I seriously need to work on.)
So what did you all do since you couldn't go out much?

I just didn't have a lot of time or energy over the holidays, is all - that's why I wasn't posting. We saw a sort of hip-hop version of A Christmas Carol, which everyone, including me, quite enjoyed. Everyone else saw the new Star Wars movie, but I'm not that into Star Wars, so I elected to stay back with Merlin and enjoy some alone time. There was also a funeral for one of my dad's relatives who I'd never met, for which I also stayed back with Merlin because I'd feel like I was intruding if I went to the funeral of someone I didn't know. Other than that, we just hung out and played games.

I have gone through what you are feeling right now. The guilt can be overwhelming. Just keep talking, it's a healing process. I am glad you like the song, that song was designed to not just be heard but to be felt. I hope it gives you frisson, some people do not get to experience that. I hope you are one of the lucky ones that do get to enjoy that sensation.

I'm not sure. My depression seems worse today, but I don't know why. Nothing's happened that I feel particularly upset about or anything. Maybe it's just not having much of anything to distract me from the depression that's making me feel it more.
