I haven't heard of frisson before. I looked it up, and it seems similar to ASMR, which I do experience, and did get from the song.

You should rejoice, not everyone gets to enjoy that sensation. Sometimes it radiates throughout my entire body if I open my mind up to the music, it's a very pleasurable experience. It's an experience worth living for, something I fall back to in difficult times.

Hello again. It is nice to hear from you again, and I am happy that you had a good time on your trip to Chicago. I am sorry for the late reply.

I am sorry that you are feeling depressed again. I understand how you feel because I have felt the same way after getting home from a fun trip. My guess for why this happens, and I could be wrong, is because your time away gave you something to make you feel happy about & get excited for, and now that it is all over, you have to go back to your normal life, where all of your problems & obligations are. At least, that has been my personal experience. My late mother also used to have the same reaction to coming home from a fun trip. The memories of these kind of special occasions are hard for me, since they are in the past, and they are reminders of better days.

Has your self-harm habit improved at all? Are your medications helpful for you in any way? Do you have an appointment scheduled with your therapist?

I still hope that things will get better for you, and that you will find a new job & your own place to live. I am confident that it will happen eventually. We just need to get thru these dark days.

300 big dragon hugs.

Yeah, I think that's a large part of the reason my depression's been bad again since coming home. I've always felt down when coming home from a fun trip even when I wasn't depressed. Even though the trip wasn't as much fun as usual since we didn't get to do much because of the cold, it at least provided me with a distraction. I'm also still struggling with remembering what it was like to feel truly happy and hopeful, when I was in the hospital and the horrible images I'd been getting finally went away, and the memory just making me feel worse now.

I hadn't been hurting myself after I got back from the hospital, but I got very frustrated a few days ago because I was in the middle of something on my phone and the battery died even though it was on the charger, and that made me do it again. I found a spot that bleeds a lot every time I poke it, and it's very, very tempting, so now I seem to be back to doing it on a daily basis.

Yep, I'm sure it will happen eventually, but sometimes it's hard to keep believing that when I spend several hours combing the Internet for job postings and most of the ones I click on have at least one major requirement I don't meet and I never hear anything back from the places I do apply to. I've probably applied to over fifty jobs now, and the total number of responses I've ever gotten is three.

Yes, I know what it feels like to have some kind of distraction to your problems. These days, I am also struggling with thinking about the past, when I was not so depressed & I was feeling truly happy. It is never a fun feeling.

I get worried about you when you hurt yourself. I always think there were be one single injury you cause yourself that will be fatal, and I would be very sad if you were gone; I really enjoy writing to you & giving you advice. I understand that it takes time to find the right medication for depression, but this therapist does not seem very good. Have you considered finding a new doctor?

It is not easy to find a job, and you seem to have tried everything possible. Before I got my job, I spent every day just looking for different jobs, and then applying for them, only to be forgotten about & never hearing back from any of them. I even had someone come to my house & try to help me with my job search, but it took a long time. I eventually found my job, and I believe that it will happen to you eventually.

I am still here for you. Big hugs.

Right now, I only hurt myself by sticking pins into myself, and I don't think I could kill myself with a pinprick even to a major artery, especially since my blood clots quickly. I just don't see how I could lose enough blood to be lethal from such a small wound. I'm glad you enjoy communicating with me - it makes me happy that I can bring you some amount of enjoyment.

My mom's going to talk to another psychiatrist that my therapist reccommended probably sometime today or tomorrow, and see about making me an appointment. I had another appointment with the psychiatrist I've been seeing. It was another fifteen-minute appointment, and he prescribed me another medication that's used to treat bipolar disorder, which I don't think I have. He didn't even say a word about thinking I have bipolar - I wouldn't even know if I hadn't looked up the medications he prescribed me. Based on the three visits I had with him, I do think I need to find a different psychiatrist. I don't like basically having medicine thrown at me with little discussion - the appointments have all pretty much been "Hi, how are you doing? Okay, here's a prescription or two, bye." This is my first experience with seeing a psychiatrist, but I really thought they were supposed to spend more time with you than that.

Yep, I'm sure I'll get lucky sooner or later and get hired. Once I have a functioning computer of my own again, I'll go back to job hunting, and if I still can't get hired, I'll probably have to try vocational rehabilitation. I've heard that usually takes quite a long time and that they're not always good at working with people on the autism spectrum, but it's worth a try - I probably will stand a better chance of getting a job with their assistance than I do on my own.

Big dragon hugs back to you :)

I would switch psychiatrist fast, he isn't even telling why he is prescribing the medications to you, if he's going to do that he might as well just take a hand full and shove them down peoples mouths! (If a doctor ever does that please report them!)

I don't know whether or not psychiatrist are suppose to spend more time than that or not I think it might depend on the person. I do know that they are suppose to tell you what a medication does and tell you why you are suppose to take it!

Just because you don't think a pinprick to a major artery can't kill doesn't mean it won't. Have you talked to your therapist about the sudden depression?

Yeah, my mom and I agree that I should switch psychiatrists. We didn't fill the new prescription because we didn't want me to be starting a new medication right when we were going to be traveling, and then my mom and I both looked up the medication, and the only things listed for its uses were treating seizures or bipolar disorder, neither of which I or my mom think I have. I agree that it's a big no-no to prescribe medications without telling people why. I think he said something about it helping my depression, but he didn't say a word about bipolar, which based on the medications he's been prescribing me, he seems to think I have. They scheduled another appointment the last time I saw him, and if we don't get me set up with the other psychiatrist my therapist reccommended before then, I think we're going to keep the appointment, and I'm going to ask about why he prescribed me these medications. If I do get in with the other psychiatrist, we'll get her opinion on the new prescription, and I think the plan is to switch over to her.

I know I could definitely be wrong about a pinprick not being able to kill me, but I don't see how such a volume of blood could come out of such a small wound before it would close up. The only way that makes sense to me is if I ended up getting a deadly infection in the wound - which I suppose is entirely possible. I guess because it's such a small wound, it seems a lot less dangerous than something like cutting myself, but I'm far from an expert on the human body - I could be completely wrong. I did mention to my therapist that my depression has been worse again, but he really just focused on job stuff during my last appointment with him.

Hello Dragons, just come to say hi really. I will say I do find it strange that your therapist was concentrating on job stuff instead of the depression since being depressed would make it much harder to get a job. Hopefully your therapist will see that and concentrate more on the depression.

Hey, in Sims 4 how is the veterinarian job going? Did you get it yet? Got 20 in any combination of dogs/cats living in your house?

I mentioned to my therapist a few months ago that I thought getting a job I could support myself on would really help with the depression - that might be why. But now I realize that the depression has really been interfering with my everyday life, and I think that needs to be addressed first.

I was actually pretty disappointed by the veterinary career, because they make you run the entire clinic if you want any of your Sims to be vets, and I just want to care for the animals without having to deal with everything that comes with runnung a business, like managing finances and employees. The maximum household size is eight, and at least one member has to be a Sim, so I haven't had 20 animals in a house :) I tried two cats and two dogs at first, but I was having trouble keeping their social needs up. It's challenging to give the pets enough love while also having a job and taking care of the Sim's own needs, since it's less convenient to interact with the pets - for example, a Sim can't cuddle with their pet while wayching TV, they have to stop watching TV to give the pet any attention, and then their "fun" need isn't going up. I'm currently playing a family with two Sims, one cat, and one dog, and that's much easier for me to manage.

Hello again. I am sorry that your therapist has not been helpful for you. Do you have an appointment scheduled for your new therapist yet?

It sort of makes sense that major depression is part of the problem with finding a job, since when you are depressed, you lose interest in working & finding a job. Maybe it is good that you are focusing on treating your depression before getting a job.

I have a story I wanted to share with you. Last week, on New Years Eve, I got together with friends, who also have Asperger's syndrome, for a day out at a park, and I saw someone from my past who is now doing very poorly. It was one of my old classmates from elementary & high school, who I had not seen since 2003. I barely recognised her when I first saw her again; she was never attractive back when we went to school together, but she looks terrible today. She is unemployed & addicted to drugs. She has body odour & does not bathe or groom herself. She was wearing old, dirty, ratty clothes. She has scars & burn marks all over her body. Her speech is slurred & incoherent.

Her boyfriend came with us on the outing, and he was living with her, but he uses cannabis & lives somewhere with a lot of roommates. My friend, who I really like, contacted me this weekend, and told me that she could not stay with him any more, and she had no place to go. My friend wanted me to try & help, but said that we could not really co anything for her. Since I had not seen my classmate since 2003, I do not know anything about her, and I do not know if she has any family or relatives. I found out two days ago that she is staying with a friend for now. The only reason why she came with us on New Years Eve was because the boyfriend called the police on her for causing a domestic disturbance; she was destroying everything in his house, and she was very violent & suicidal. He did not trust her to be home alone because of what she might do if she was there by herself.

I could not help but pity her for all of her problems, but in reality, she brought it on herself, and there is nothing I can do to help her.

The moral of my story is that there are some people who are in even worse situations that what you & I are in. I hope nothing like it ever happens to either you or me.

Good luck with your new therapist. 300 big dragon hugs.

I think my therapist will work well with me - if I suggest we not focus on the job thing for right now, I think he'll agree to shift focus away from it. We just need to actually get past the point where he's just trying to understand what's going on with me. I don't have an appointment with the new psychologist yet.

Yep, there are definitely people who have things worse than we do. Sometimes it helps to have a little perspective, so we can be reminded that there are still some positive things in our lives. I also hope nothing like that happens to either of us, and that your old classmate can somehow manage to get her life back together.

I realized today that nowadays, when I have a meltdown, I also have very intense suicidal thoughts. I find this frightening because when I'm having a meltdown is also when I'm most likely to do things impulsively, including self-harm. I'm not sure what I can do about it, though.

What kinds of things trigger a meltdown for you?

You may find a pattern.

Sensory overload, sudden change of plans, my phone shutting off due to low battery when I'm in the middle of something, and making mistakes are all things that are likely to trigger a meltdown for me. That last one is probably the most dangerous because all my negative emotions are directed at myself.

Whenever you have a meltdown, one thing you could do, which may be difficult, but it is still worth attempting, is to restrain yourself whenever you are about to do anything harmful. You could try to think of something helpful which could calm you down. It has helped me before.

Another thought I had, which could be helpful, is to use a social media service. I have heard that there are groups for people who are having problems, and there are also groups for people looking for jobs or their own place to live. I do not have very much experience with them, but it may be something you could look in to.

I can only partially recommend social media services like Face Book & Twitter because I do not really think they are right for every one. I had a Face Book account for 2 years, but I seldom used it, and I permanently deleted it 3 months ago. I did not like it because I am an extremely private person, and I did not want people bothering me or trying to contact me. I also did not find it interesting at all, and I do not understand why people like it so much. I have also heard about people getting addicted to the services, using them all the time. There are also reports of people being stalked on those services. Wrong Planet is the only web site I post any messages on.

I am still here for you on here if you are uncomfortable with those suggestions. 300 big hugs.
