I feel discouraged...
...I just wish I knew how to do the things normal people know how to do, like take a selfie and put it up! Just that, for instance

...Yesterday (Friday) I did leave to go downtown, to make my end attempt (I'd first tried Wedbesda to open an account at the Credit Union of Santa Cruz as RR had suggested, but, there was paperwork I'd have to do first before I could, involving a trip to somewhere else altogether, and then bringing that paperwork to the CU, only then could I open an account
I can't do that until next week at the earliest. A number of the things I went away from here to do (or wanted to do) ARE important things!
Do some of you just want me to
leave things undone? That's how I lost those mineral royalties, you will remember
.
Do you who lecture me about how I Must Do Everything Myself think that some social worker here will push pixels and make everything for me
?

I'm glad you're feeling well enough to go out (even if you're technically not supposed to!) I've withheld judgment on that issue, because ethically I shouldn't be encouraging you to break hospital rules, or risk being thrown out.
But I agree it's a complicated issue, and I see pros and cons to either choice:
Going out:
+ take care of errands and such
+ psychologically nice to get a break
+ you seem to have done it many times before, with no problem
+ if they really wanted to stop you, they would
+ I tend to think they're just covering themselves legally, so they can't get sued
+ My guess is no one's job is actually in danger, since legally they have warned you
- slight to moderate(?) risk of being thrown out
- doesn't make a good impression on your social worker
- gets you branded as a rule-breaker, uncooperative patient
- hurts your chances of being recommended for a better situation
Not going out:
+ the safe, legal, and ethical choice
+ makes a good impression on your social worker
+ increases your chances of being recommended for a better situation
+ a public guardian could be arranged to handle your finances and basic needs
- would have to give up phone, internet, other fun things
- would have to make do with TV for entertainment
- we would miss hearing from you on here!
I'm on the fence on this issue, personally. It's for you to decide, and I will respect your decision, either way.
...Brief point: I don't have a TV!

Sorry, I don't know where I got that impression - it's hard to keep track!
What entertainment options are available, to people in your situation? It seems it would be to the staff's benefit to keep the patients occupied and happy, and there would be something for people to do?
I hear you though, it doesn't sound like the most fun situation. ![]()
...First, more on the TV: Actually, I do have a hospital-style personal TV by my bed - but it is not online to receive programming, it was here and that way the first day I was here, it is that way.now! Simply plastic & glass, not receiving any TV programming whatsoever. More on thus later.

...Now I'm going to talk about " needs " that have pushed me to go out.
Starting off, I'd have to, to get that Credit Union account, take two buses to get to the Homeless Services Center here where I get my mail and get paperwork from the center certifying that I do that then bring that paper back to the CU and present it to them to then be able to open the CU account. I'd have to get started lairly early to get to the closes-early mail part of the HSC; too. I haven't checked my mail for a while there; either, through I likely have nothing of consequece.

Re: Homeless Services Center
This is the first time you've mentioned you get your mail there. I get my mail from the Ballard Food Bank. They not only hold my mail for me but packages as well. Can HSC receive packages for you, as in your brother's pictures?

...Answering RR: I don't know. And, sticking literally to " receive ", I don't know what the size and weight of the things of my brother are. I have asked the lawyer that and received no answer. I am tending to presume that everything was boxed together when it was removed from his placs - and the stuff includes the photos/memoribilia AND the CDs , etc., AND some toys/stuff AND the clothes, in descending order of how much interest I have in if - however, to repeat...I have written the lawyer and received no reply regarding how much space the stuff takes up. More to come.

...So, I do not know what the weight or mass of the items of my brother are
. I have e' D the lawyer a couple times recently, no response...remember, the phone function of this phone hasn't been working
...I won't write again til' after Christmas Day...I get worry that he might demand I get the things sent NOW or they'll be thrown away
, or that they would be
, as Goldfish was gleefully anticipating.
PERHAPS the package could be sent to the HSC but where would it go from there? I couldn't leave it there, I know if no storage facilities there...So take it to somewhere else? Where? I've got nowhere lined up in SC to take it
. And how would I even get it there?
I think I can imagine that, no matter the stuff's weight and mass, it is considerably more than someone who is CHF-crippled
and walks - slowly
- with a crutch could hump onto the HSC bus
! Get a taxi? With no working cell phone, or card, to "modern "- style arrange payment with? How would. I arrange that? And would a taxi go to the well-known HSC - which has a jail-style locked gate around it - and then gang around and wait, to take a big package to,,,again, I have nowhere now lined up,
BTW, now, I am experiencing some pushback at the rehab over my going out. And I was planning to stay in and not go out over this long weekend, too
.

Simply put, the reason you're getting pushback over going out is because people who need medical rehab don't treat the facility like a motel to eat and sleep and spend the day running errands.
TV: There is always a common area in rehab facilities for socializing and receiving visitors and that is where you'll find the TV.
Maybe you should just have the photos and memorabilia shipped to you and ask that the clothes and toys be given to others at the home where your brother lived. With your recent weight gain the clothes may be too small for you. The cost of shipping them would probably outweigh any money you might make selling them. And maybe some of the residents might like a toy to remember your brother by. He was there a long time wasn’t he?
...Maybe I didn't spell this out sufficiently, but I believe that my brother's things are all cleared out of his room - It's been more than four months, after all.- and all packed together in one container, I imagine that that's what happened. Now, remember, I haven't even received info from the lawyer about the general weight and mass of the stuff. I REALLY DON'T THINK that they would willingly " open up the box of stuff and take the clothes out and dispose of them " (And, no, I don't particularly want his clothes.)!
Jjusf as I do not think that they would open up the box, take the pictures out, and scan and put them online for me in an office in NYS either
!
