Money doesn't lead one to happiness. It frequently leads one to apathy.
I'd just like to second this one.
I have the money to do whatever I want (within the realm of sanity) and I dont need a job.
It's.... honestly not as great as it sounds. To be specific, it does NOT prevent depression and bad moods. It's not going to just give you happiness. But it will give you apathy and boredom. So much of both. And a total lack of any real sense of accomplishment.
If you're depressed, simply getting your hands on money, even big money, isnt going to solve the problem. What IS going to help though is getting up and DOING something. Doesnt matter what... just something. The worst thing you can do is to sit around and think about it alot. When your mind is focused on the cause of your sadness, that inevitably just makes you feel worse. However, working towards some sort of solution or goal can make you feel better. And you'll have the extreme satisfaction and feeling of accomplishment when you complete a goal... and who knows what else it might lead to? Any goal that you complete could lead you to unexpected opportunities, things that could improve your life and lead to something great.
Also, since vacations are mentioned, going on a trip isnt a bad idea. Sometimes, just getting away from an overly familiar place for awhile can be the excitement you need to get back on track.
