twiz, its okay, i understand stereotypes))) yes, there are beaches, as well as there are glacial fields))) right now, with winter ongoing, it IS snow everywhere around here, but in southmost parts they often get barely any snow throughout a winter. more like cold rains. while deep up the north, they get polar days and nights, and snow never melts there. i am somewhere in between. middle belt, where we get both cold winters and hot summers. there are beaches around here too, but mostly on rivers and lakes, and i dont like it. also having such... wideranged climat... means, that we have to have quite several sets of clothing as a nesessity.

That beach actually looks pretty!
And yeah the southern part of Russia sounds just like where I have lived in terms of winter. In both South Georgia and Florida it seldom snows here and when it does it's a freak occurence and not enough snow to actually do anything with. During the winter it's just dark cloudy skies and a lot of cold rain. But during the summer it gets very muggy and hot.
