I could have answered what prevents suicide - my cat. I can't abandon her.
But to ask me what I love about life? Sorry, nothing at all. It's been that way for years and I'm still here, not going anywhere.

Nothing? Did you forget about your cat already? Or did you mean you don't even love your cat and only hang around out of duty to her? :(

See? This is the kind of conversation that makes me want to kick the bucket.

I'm sorry. That was not the intent. Very sorry.

I thought it would be a reminder that your cat is a great part of your life. Turns out I'm just a doofus.

Fear of death and hope that I can still have a happy life. But I know what it feels like to question "what's the point of continuing to live?" That's what brings me back from the edge though.

Thanks & sorry again. I hoped I would cheer you up, but trying not to say stupid things might be a better goal for me.

What about an interesting hobby, a pet (dog, cat, etc.), money or something?
Imagination is free and even tiny things can make a difference.

No pets

No hobbies. At least, nothing great enough to continue living, :skull: for

Hobbies $$$

Nobody to do hobbies with

There is nothing that I am good at or enjoy

Several exception

I did make a decision not to die until the end of my life.

I remember someone saying "Suicide? I won't do that again!"

What I do not understand, is why so many claim, the reason why they don't commit suicide is friends and family and pets

Friends and family and pets drop dead

Everyone is going to drop dead sooner or later

Someone told me that he would be "sad" "if you does".

What the flying f**k?

Everyone is going to drop dead

Question:. Him or me first

Unless my death makes the headlines (most don't) he won't hear about it

"Sad" is just an emotion

He has friends family, job and other stupid forms of BS

He will get over it

Not unless he is trying to imply, that he is so f*****g awesome, that he has a moral right, to never feel "sad" again

f**k that ass hole

Nothing lasts forever, this is true. I've lost dear family members and a dear cat who kept me going. Then I had to find other things to keep me going. The idea of giving up is seductive at times, but there's no "try before you buy" option and the purchase will eventually be forced anyway. Eternity can wait. No mind will hold memories of us forever, but it doesn't make comments like "I'd miss you/be sad if you were gone" meaningless. We'll lose out if we insist on permanence.

Update: The last hurdle has been cleared, thanks for giving me something interesting to read.

As much as your friends appreciate the repayments, they'll appreciate having you around even more. Your absence would be painfully noticed and continually gnaw at those you left behind. It's worth finding a reason to enjoy your life, no matter how small, but sometimes duty to the well-being of those closest to us is good enough in the meantime.

My daughter still needs me, but it's a real struggle for me at times to keep going, I think this must be the worst time in history to be autistic.

I suppose the need to know that I've tried everything I could to treat my chronic illnesses(they are reason I am suicidal) before I finally kill myself. Eventually I will run out of treatment options, my illnesses will become untreatable, I won't be able to eat or sleep, life will be pure torture and at that point rather than drag it out, I will just hang myself. Every treatment eventually stops working, my illnesses adapt and get worse over time and there are only so many treatments to try before its a lost cause. I've pretty much accepted that I won't live much longer. As much as I would prefer to have a life, a part of me will be glad that after 14 years of this s**t it will finally be over. If one day I stop posting here, it will be because I'm dead.
