If you view it that way, the right thing for you would be to keep away from this forum.

Especially in the Haven.

I am not addicted to suffering. I wish I was better but I live a life where I don’t fit in because I always fail to meet the expectations others always have for me and they garner ill will for me. My attempts to change my life around always fail and I never see any supposed “options” anywhere.

For the record I do not believe in this as much as just wondering about it.

As I have expressed before, I don't think many people are addicted to suffering but some are definitely stuck in it for various reasons - and, well, I think you are one.

I read somewhere that right to move and live wherever one wishes is among the fundamental freedoms of the US citizens.

A mantra to learn: "your expectations are not my promises". Do what you believe is right.

Well, I live in a place that thinks Trump is a “good Christian man”, urinating on the ground is acceptable male behavior, women generally go for “bad boys” for intimate relationships, and country music is considered the ultimate form of artistic expression.

I know moving out and starting to live alone in an entirely new place is not an easy decision to make but based on what you write on WP, that may be the way out of where you got stuck.

It is the only way.

It would be much easier if my control freak mother didn’t sabotage me on a daily basis and my income didn’t get drained so quickly.

Yes, it likely would be much easier but you as can't change your mother, getting away from her seems the only rational choice.

Are you suggesting it isn't wise to provide insight and advise in The Haven?

If the main outcome would be your frustration - yes.

Who said anything about being frustrated? I posted something that agreed with the idea that Ezra was inviting discussion of. Seeing other people refuse to even consider potentially useful advice doesn't frustrate me, it just makes me thankful that I'm not that person or someone who's invested in helping that person. Other people's learned helplessness is more amusing than frustrating, it's only frustrating if you're invested in the outcome.

Then I misread your post as a complaint. My mistake.

That got a bark of laughter out of me because it is too true at times.

Nope, it existed for one purpose.

She told me she wanted me to get a vasectomy because she thought I would have sex in college, even when it was clear I couldn’t even get a f*****g coffee date. She also told me she didn’t want me to have children. I hope she’s happy because that’s what she caused me to become.
