The "experts" aren't telling us crap about how people with mental illness can get through this.

Same here. But i always feel like that, since my life is usually the way coronavirus is making it for people not used to being shut in.

I don't think we'll learn anything in the long term. As soon as this crisis is over we will be racing to get back to exactly the same place we were in before it began. Humility will never replace human arrogance. We will never learn the lessons nature tries to teach us.

We'll keep repeating that over and over until we reach the catastrophic crisis that will result in the total collapse of human civilisation. Or maybe this crisis will turn out to be the catastrophic one.

(By "we" I mean the human race in general rather than any specific individuals)

I woke up early this morning coughing and nasal congestion... I'm praying it's not THE VIRUS but it's got my anxiety through the roof... If it was any other time I would just consider this a mild cold.... :(

I don't know if I should tell anyone or wait it out isolated... 8O

Do you have any other symptoms?

Have you got a thermometer there to take your temperature with?

Better self isolate if you can. In my country, we are instructed to phone a healthcare specialist but not leave until called.
If you experience serious difficulty breathing, call ER.

Are businesses politically aligned?

Everyone is so yess business are. Apple is very liberal and they shut down, Nike too
Hobby lobby is conservative and still open.

Seems rather like their target client groups are politically aligned.

Anyway, a crisis is a time for important decisions. Could you make do without your job?

There won't be a total collapse of humanity but there may be a collapse of current civilization centers.
Some societes will choose more effective ways of dealing with such crises than other societes. If the central societes don't learn from them, there will be a considerable power balance shift.
That's how evolution works on the level of societes. Evolution does not promote the strongest. It promotes the best adapted. Humans have capacity to cooperate and adapt.

It is interesting that just like climate change the word "deniers" is being used. Capitalism is being denounced. Socialism is being promoted. And lots of fear mongering of course.

The thermometer says my temp is normal... I also got headache/runny nose a bit. I called my insurances 24 hour nurse line and she said this sounded mild and to treat it at home.

Maybe capitalism - despite being the most efficient for economies during peace and prosperity - has its weak spots and crises requiring massive cooperation expose them?

I stop here because it's not PPR. We can start another thread there.

Exactly^^^^ :D

Society needs more unity and mutual guarantee.

What's interesting is that in China they isolated infected people at gun point. In other societies people are willing to make personal sacrifices for the sake of the vulnerable. Perhaps in China also, just that the government controlled the whole thing.

To answer the OP's question; no I am not worried about the virus itself. I did go though a period where my generalized anxiety disorder got the best of me and I was feeling dread, not eating much and having diarrhea.

But that passed and I started confronting it by looking at the statistics. The more I look and the more time has gone by, the less worried I am about covid-19 itself.

I think you can trust her. Self isolate and stay safe!
