Oh well, I'd rather end up banned than stay quiet. I can't feel welcome in a community that tolerates that s**t and I'm sure it's cost us members in the past even if no one ever made a thread to mourn their departures.

I don't believe anyone active here on WP is a white supremacist. I'm not saying there never have been. I believe the greater bulk of our membership feels all should be treated equally irrespective of race, religion, sex etc.

There was in the past a fringe that believed WP had a left wing agenda and left bcoz of that. Now suddenly the opposite has become true - with no evidence to back it up.

We won't tolerate racism, the promotion of violence or finger pointing of individuals. take a chill pill. I come from a country where race was a big issue in the past and I came to understand just how terrible it was for those born with a different colour. It wasn't so difficult to adapt as soon as I realized the truth.

I did actually make a thread that it seems quite a few people mistook for being about one person with the username IsobellaLinton, when it was in fact a thread about improving things for every member of the Wrong Planet website forum, in respect of those from the past, those here now in the present, and those yet to come in the future.

And here the rant begins ~ IsobellaLinton no less herself posted on my thread stating that she wanted it closed and she got it closed by envirozentinel without a moments thought about consulting me or gaining my consent.

So feeling really annoyed and verily sarcastic ~ I reported envirozentinel's post as being spam, as the message only had the purpose of serving others interests, and I provided the following information:

To be fair your thread was one of two.

Obviously I do not need to agree to that which I have already stated ~ it is extremely important to be going green after all.

Apparently it’s ok to start threads using peoples names without permission but not ok for said person to ask for them to be locked without permission.

Also mods Routinely lock threads without contacting the thread creator.

That does sound frustrating, Deep Thought.

Including Isabella’s name in the title of your post was always likely to shape people’s perceptions of your post.

Rightly or wrongly, Isabella read your thread and thought that some of the more pointed posts were aimed in her direction.

If you want to start a thread about making WrongPlanet better that doesn’t appear to revolve around one user then please go ahead. But I think it’s worth using the previous thread as a guide for how it is likely to turn out. Do you think you’ll get new ideas or will it rehash the original?

Do you have suggestions about how we could get new ideas or how to facilitate an on topic discussion further Mr Walrus?

Deepthought started the thread, but there were many on topic contributors, many of whom could have just as easily started that thread themselves, perhaps without a members name... there are commonalities in the concerns... these will resurface at inopportune times like in the cyclical pattern that they have, or could be addressed in an ongoing and measured manner.

I prefer the latter, its less of an emotional runaway derailed train experience for the membership and more of a considered controlled preventive action... Some certainty and agency that's much needed on an ASD support site.

Everybody talks about "What's Wrong With WrongPlanet?", but no one ever does anything about it.

Idk how to say that without sounding incredibly pretentious or centrist.

A Polish colleague of mine so desperately wants to go to Poland for 2 weeks the minute they allow planes to fly there, which is starting from the beginning of next month I think. Her closest relatives live in the UK with her.
But if she is going for two weeks, it will mean that she'll have to have four weeks off work altogether because after being abroad you have to isolate yourself for two weeks apparently. But this is going to be difficult, because it's going to be hard to get cover for her for four weeks, and I wanted some days off this summer (I haven't even had any holiday days off yet this year). I wanted just one holiday day on my birthday back in April but the boss wouldn't even let me have that off because there would be nobody to cover for me, even though there's the same amount of workers then as there is now. It's easy to swap people's days around so that people's holiday days can be covered. But having to do this for four weeks is going to be much harder than having to do it just for a day.

It's just annoyed me. This woman is always going to Poland for long amounts of time (sometimes a month), and she books her flights before booking her holiday days from work, because she knows that will make the boss let her have exactly when she wants off without considering other people. If I book flights and hotels, I look it up first to see when there are a lot of flights and hotel rooms available, and then I ask the boss for that particular week or two weeks (in advance), and as soon as he signs it to say it's been approved, then I book the flights and hotels. But this woman gets very angry and upset if she doesn't get her own way. But the boss always lets her get her own way.
She's even complaining because someone else has booked their holiday days during the time she was planning on going to Poland, even though she hasn't even asked the boss yet. But it's a first come first serve basis, which is the fairest way to do it.

My relationship is over. His inability to respect my decision not to see him during quarantine because he was not transparent about where here goes and who he is with, and calling me "paranoid" because I am isolating during the rapid increase of Corona, together with my high risk status, renders him too immature and selfish to put my life in his hands. I am devastated but it will get easier. Now I can grow older gracefully. I will miss sex so much but I am already an "old lady." Hope I don't shrivel up and lose my vitality now. I will have to learn to crochet lol.
