Only thing, it doesnt matter to the mods, so it certainly shouldnt for you. Is anything posted here really affect you?
Im pretty sure your the only one here who cares if someone conforms to the exact rules of the thread.

No, I care too. The entire scale is meaningless if it has no parameters. When one cannot put a number to one's feelings, one should type out one's feelings verbally, without using a number. Why use a number that you admit doesn't make sense, a number that you admit is "random"?

534 + 756 = 34. Don't be offended -- these numbers are random. :)

Isn't that annoying??

-10/+10 is not his "interpretation of the rules"; it is the rules.

Try earplugs, like I do when my noisy unstairs neighbors start jumping on my ceiling. Look for a decibel rating of >30.

I was thinking about this last night. It doesn't matter whether there's a scale or not; you cannot be fully sure that you wont feel worse than you feel at one specific point. Like, one day you might think you're at a -10, but the next day you might feel even worse than that. So what is that number? The same goes for +10. I mean, you could be blissfully happy one day and think you couldn't be better, and then the next day you win the lottery, or get married, or receive a gift you've always wanted, or anything, and you are feeling even better?

Well, I'm feeling better than whenever it was that I put that number, so I'd say probably a -10. Heh.

Wow... that's a rather complex feeling!

They're guidelines, nothing more. Good guidelines to follow (I've tried to make my opinion on this clear...numerous times...all people seem to see is "HE IS DISAGREEING!! !") but at the same time it isn't reasonable to go around correcting people when they feel horrible. Are you very open to this sort of advice or "corrections" when you feel like absolute s**t? If you are, that's commendable, but I'm sure as hell not.

These ideas (Again, I've tried to tell Violentcloud that I thought they were good ideas numerous times...) should be offered to people in a way that they might be willing to consider them, and then be able to better put them to practice.

In the beginning the thread said on a scale of 1-10. People began using negative number to reflect their greater perceived pain.
I know the lady who started this thread she does not give a d*mn what numbers people use. The problem we have had is a person will say they feel very bad and a troll will then post how they are at "10". So if some one who post before you post a low number its a good idea to acknowledge your sympathy for their pain before you say your at 10 because of some trivial reason.

Good point, I think I may have been careless about this at times...
I didn't consider my reasons, or rather reason, for posting a high number to be trivial, but I suppose it might have come across as insensitive (or at the least oblivious) of me to not at least acknowledge that not everyone was doing as well.

Yes, that is a good idea. I've probably done that myself when I've been a bit hyper.

If you can't equate your feelings to a number between -10 and +10, this probably isn't the best thread to be in :P There's probably a thread better suited to you lurking somewhere in The Haven, just waiting to be resurrected.

And as I said in my original post, I felt the need to comment because I've raised this issue with everyone else who broke with the scale, and as such I felt it was only fair to say something on this occasion - wouldn't want anyone to think I was picking on specific people.

Perhaps people could specify the scale they're using when they post?

it's more intelligible if everyone uses the same scale,

if not it's like talking any language, some people do understand each other, but others don't,
even if it might give interesting mixes at times, it would also be quite complex.

a regular 5 for me.

Back to my normal self. I took 20 mg of propranolol shortly after my last post in this thread. Its has some major efficacy I think in treating posttraumatic stress.
