i thought i should come back and let you know i'm doing all right, even though i'm not really posting too much on WP.

my sisters and i are doing family therapy together, which is helping a lot. we are now learning to communicate what we need from each other in a healthy way, because we did not learn to do that as children. we are working at lifting each other up instead of smashing each other down. basically, for the first time we are establishing a healthy family relationship. it is sad that it took a tragedy to make this happen, but sometimes it takes a crisis in order to initiate a sea change.

i started a university Biology class through distance learning (i had enrolled before the tragedy). i am already behind on the coursework, but i am not stressing about it as i am taking it for fun. and i am enjoying it immensely!

i work in a call centre, and for some reason the powers-that-be decided to perform my quarterly evaluation immediately upon my return to work after bereavement leave. essentially, i work in a government call centre and i was monitored on my calls during a difficult period of transition. my Team Leader tried to block it from happening as it set a nasty precedent (the government appeared less-than-human). but anyway... i scored the highest possible marks in every category. against all odds, i aced it.

i also had a medical procedure done yesterday, and the results came back completely normal, so things are looking up in that regard as well.

thanks for reading, i just wanted everyone to know i am doing fine - just not visiting WP too much lately.

So good you posted back, hyperlexian. Since the tragedy, you've done so much! I know you'll do really well in your Biology class and glad your sisters are now also your friends. Stay well and all the best to you :sunny:

I am glad you are doing a bit better, Hyperlexian, and I am glad that you have the support of your sisters and are doing therapy with them for a better relationship. It is nice to see you posting.

It's good to know you're doing alright in inspite of everything that is going on in your life. Take care of yourself. :)

I'm glad you're doing better, too.

No matter how it happens, you're never prepared for it. It takes time. People have told me to feel what I need to feel for as long as I need to feel it and not let others tell me how I should "move on" in ways that won't be healthy for me.

Anyway...glad you're here!

Hyperlexian, seems you have lots of Wrong Planet friends who have every confidence in you. You'll be stronger for this - we do care :)

Glad you're doing better.... I never even noticed this, before. Although, many times I may read through whole threads where people even ask for help, but I don't say anything, anyway... :/ don't tend to have the energy, too often, or I just can't help due to my strive to be honest, as much as is possible... -_-
