I think faith is key, do you think the universe would just stick you here for no other reason then to give you pain and murder you?

You don't have to believe in God to see that makes no sense, I am not going to preach to you because thats probably frowned upon and it benefits me none what your beliefs are. However if you want my honest unfiltered opinion, I think you need to wonder why you are here and read the bible. The answers you want and even the cure to you condition is in there.

God says to ask and you shall receive if you believe its true. I can't say I have that great of faith but I know I would trust God more then anyone who told me I had six months to live. You have nothing to lose and if you don't buy into the whole Christian thing then fine. Say its bullcrap, you'll be dead either way so I would be talking to God existent or non existent.

I would choose the treatment option. Why? Because in the 8 months between the give-up and the fight-on options, medical science may have come up with a cure. This does happen sometimes!

But whichever you choose, put as much joy, laughter, and love in your time as you can. These things can heal, and if that is not to be, they can at least strengthen a patient.

Are your parents still here? What about other family members, do you have relationships with them?

Like an extreme emotional weakness in my whole body.
I expect I will pick up again presently.
I didn't feel like this before.
I felt more hopeful.
Kind of delayed reaction?

I'm thinking maybe it's because September first has snuck-up on you, and you know you have to make a decision about accepting / not accepting treatment, and you can't decide----TOTALLY understandable. Nobody can decide, of course, but YOU----but, have you asked your kids what THEY think?

I'm concerned that your emotional weakness is your mind fighting your body to give-up..... I DO think, though, that it IS, in-fact, a "delayed reaction". When you first got the September 1st date, you had PLENTY of time, and took what I call "The Scarlet Vow" ("I'll think about it tomorrow"----named, as such, for Scarlett O'Hara). Now, you have so few "tomorrows", before you need to decide.

I don't know how to get out of this pit.

Is your hurt, physical or emotional? BOTH are understandable, of course----I was just wondering.....

I think our bodies and minds are much stronger than we give them credit. We don't know their strength, unless they've been called-on before, for a similar trial----and, since you've never experienced this, before.....

I've always said that if I were faced with your decision, I would NOT do the treatment. I have enough stomach problems (everyone that I've known who's had Chemo, they have stomach problems, because of it----can't eat, terrible nausea, etc.)----and, I know it sounds silly, but I don't want to "go-out", bald----also, I'm not afraid of dying. Whenever I have told someone, who has been-through Chemo, that I wouldn't do it, every ONE has said the same thing: "When----IF----the time comes, you'll do whatever you have to, to save your life". I have nothing to live-for, though----and, I don't mean that in a suicidal way----it's just that..... If I had a spouse, and / or children, or an elderly parent, it probably would be different. You have kids (I know they're grown)----and, even though I don't believe anyone should ever do anything (life-changing) for someone ELSE, I can certainly understand why it would be A factor in the decision----I just don't believe it should be THEE factor.

This isn't helping.
My fault.
I shouldn't have said anything.
It's better to pretend everything's ok.

I can't handle advice right now.
It's like more pressure.
But I know you all mean well.
I'm a horrible person.

:(

You're a wonderful person. You are struggling. Whatever path you take is your best decision.

Good for you, Raleigh! It's really important to set limits as you navigate your own way through this.

^ Could I ask you to lock this thread please, B19?
It's making me feel weird.
