Clothes , cough , crippled-ness .
Then I would advise DCJ to hold on any further planning...because it's sounding again like ASS-P is trying to back out of moving.
ASS-P I think you need to figure out what you really want to do - and let DCJ know whether Nashville is a good destination for you or not, as he/she has offered transport and already made preliminary arrangements for housing, along with offering the valuable "shoulder" you have been begging for.
...It is Monday lunchtime , I am at that expensive yuppie grocery/deli with wi-fi , I will try and read all the piled-up posts in this line from the last days before I say much more .
I will give a clue as to something I,n
m going to say - As far as making my way to Nashvillle via Greyhound , alone , factors related to my health make ne wonder whether I can do it that way , or if another way of reaching Music City is , in fact , needed...Which is something my would-be benefactor has brought up .
Some things could make a bus trip difficult - That isn,t to say : impossible : , just that the problems especially possiby added by my health (my crippled-ness
, the d/e problems - Over the weekend , the medicos said to me that they thought I had an infection in my digestive system/interior - and my coughing) have to be taken into account , and , since he was suggesting another method possibly...

ASS-P, if you're waiting for a time when all is peaceful with you to move, that's going to be never. If it isn't your health, then someone has stolen your stuff or you are broke. It's always something and it's no different for the rest of us. I could sit here and tell you all the bad things that have happened to me, but I won't.
Simply put, if nothing changes, then nothing will change. If you stay there, you'll get sick, people will steal your s**t and you'll be broke off and on.
Buy some disposable diapers and get on the Greyhound. It really IS that simple.
...With my SSDI/ATM card , I usually take all of that week,s amount/close out all at once to get the ATM fees over with (I also do buy stuff at Walgreens, and other chains which let you get cash back from card purchases , however , the amount you can take out at once is pretty limited) , to justt pay one ATM fee for taking the majority of the cash out .
I have what is known in California as : Medical : and also , nationally , Medicare and - Um , I;m mentally blocked now !
- oh , yeah , Meedicaid . I do need to get a new physical card , tho, .
I can,t at this time drive as I do not have a driver,s liscence now - That can change , I imagine , and , they always sa , you never forget how to /drive - However , I haven,t , for some years .

It's unfortunate. It's an endless cycle. It's not easy to improve his situation but it doesn't help when our advice is ignored. It's probably something he has to learn on his own. Hopefully before it's too late.
I would also like to say that finding a care home appears to be hard, even though it's a paid-for situation, so you'd think there would be many care homes/rooms available, from an economic standpoint.
I suggested this years ago, and if the Nashville plan doesn't work out, it remains my suggestion:
http://www.sfhsa.org/DAAS.htm
Social Services exists precisely to help in cases such as this, when someone needs housing and medical services due to disability issues. ASS-P has indicated he's not interested in a solution that involves the state managing his money, and limiting his lifestyle through disability housing, but that option does exist, if the situation becomes dire.
I think DCJ, Tobes, and others have been very kind to try to help him find alternative solutions, and I sincerely wish ASS-P the best, but at this point I think it's important for any would-be helpers to be aware of his pattern of asking for help on this forum, then consistently shooting down any advice offered, because of his cough, clothes, crippled-ness, etc.
I apologize for not having a better solution than what Social Services is able to provide, but I offer the suggestion once again, because I'm concerned for ASS-P's health and safety, and want him to get the care he needs.

Thanks for the link, it provided another link to some information that I was questioning. According to someone who knows ASS-P's situation quite well for a number of years, his SSDI is only about half of what he is entitled to. There is a Representative Payee who is looking after ASS-P's finances but it may be possible that the payee isn't required. This would free up hundreds of dollars each month, which would help in the rent of a care home's services.
From the link above, it linked to a program which appears to be the service that ASS-P has entered into: http://www.sfhsa.org/370.htm. It's called the Representative Payee Program. It states that the program "ensures that their daily living needs are met, and maintains their well-being and independence." Whether that's being done is upto each person to decide.
A big note on that page is that it states the program is voluntary. "This program is voluntary and each participant must have a case manager to be eligible. Participants must be referred by their case manager."
If ASS-P still has a case manager in SF, maybe he can ask them to remove him from the program.
It's not just his funds that he has trouble managing, it's his life. He needs someone from DAAS and affiliated programs to take change and acknowledge the problems he has and then place him with around-the-clock care, paid for by some of his SSDI. It's such a simple solution, people over the internet can see that. It sucks that it's not happening in real life by the people who can actually make the most difference.
...IT SEEMS THAT ASH , ANYWAY , IS EXPLICITLY WRITING ME OFF AS ; NOT DOING ANYTHING : AND THAT , FURTHERMORE , THERE IS AGREEMENT TO THIS ELSEWHERE IN THIS DISCUSSION !
WHAT THE f**k ?
I HAVE
<<<<<<<<<SAID>>>>>>>>> I WAS INTERESTED IN THe Nashville plan ! !! !! !! !! !!
I have ONLY tied to deal with the less-than-ideal amount of coputer timme that circumstance has forced on me the last few days - Am I espected to have already hopped the bus to do so ? On the first business day after New Years, , a semi-holiday ?
I DO NOT HAVE the money to get a bus ticket , (if that is to be the method by which I do it , which , remember , has itself been discussed) let alone actually have the ticket/other means of transportation set up !
I,m not sure if this got up before , so -

- If it were via G-Hound , I would have to , once the ticket was arranged , finish up here , then , with less than perfect clothing and luggage situations , and my hobbled/handicapped walking and carrying things situation , get on - HAVING ABSOLUTELY MADE CLEAR WITH MY ATTEMPTED BENEFACTOR THAT I AM COMING AND WHEN IT WILL BE - Something that has not happened yet - !
I haven,t even reached an agreement with the benefactor yet that I am fir sure coming , and how , and how we would meet !
Tobes seems now to think that there,s some care situuation waiting just around the corner for me here in SF which I am rejecting !
I assure you that there isn,t .
The idea that my SSDI is :: less than half : of what I should get (or whatever was siad above , I cannot go back to re-check it now on this tiny device while typing on : borrowed time:) is entirely new to me , too ! !!
And who here at WP knows enough , especially about my personal/: business : details ,/ to say this ?
There is only about one now-active WPer who I have had much off-board contact with , we had quite a lot in 2013/4 but we haven,t had too much recently and myself and that person and I have never met face to face - how does Tobes think this ?
Is some weird : TAUNTING ME THAT I DO,T WANT TO DO THE NASHVILLE PLAN , SO I WILL : REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY BEING ATTEMPTED HERE ?
It has only been a couple days since the Nashville plan was proposed , I was cut off by my hospital problem/s and the weekend from having much weekend contact aloowing me to plan - Now are people deciding : I haven,t moved fast enough : ? WTF ?

...For me to do as much discussion on this subject as I have these last few days has taken me an INCREDIBLE amount of effort (Which I have not really taken time to write about here and now !

, and the ultra-limited , even with me now having this tablet , availability of Internet time I ROUTINELY have to deal with !
Now it,s being hiinted : I don,t care/don,t want to do it :
.
I must go back to the shelter , I snuck out to that deli to get this time in - I hope I,m not in trouble there !
My benefactor was speaking of what Imight do after the 3d of this month - Pllease stay with me on that .

Some information worth sharing to anyone reading. It's probably best to keep this (or any other relevant thread) updated with whatever information we find to get ASS-P into a care home. Whether that's in SF or elsewhere. It's a start. Here we go:
1. As of August 2016, all housing and homeless support services are overseen by San Francisco’s new Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing (dhsh.sfgov.org). The department’s phone number is 415-252-3232.
2. Regarding getting to Nashville, there is a program in SF run by the Human Services Agency called "The Homeward Bound program." http://www.sfhsa.org/79.htm - It provides a free bus ticket if they can prove someone is meeting a friend at a destination and that friend is able to provide them with a place to stay and on-going support. Whether that's dcj123 helping out or someone else in another town, the above program may give ASS-P a free bus ride to the destination.
3. Here's a very easy application to a SF service called Project Homeless Connect. https://www.projecthomelessconnect.org/ ... ssistance/. Some of the options they may help with are prescription glasses, dentures, housing search workshops, hygiene supplies and more. ASS-P, please fill out that form when you have the time.
4. Direct Access to Housing program in SF, run by the SF Department of Public Health - http://dishsf.org/dah/direct-access-to-housing/. (Currently not accepting applications but worth noting anyway.)
5. SF Connected: Free computer learning/educational classes for seniors and adults with disabilities - http://sfconnected.org/home/ - Phone number: 415-355-3555. They're at various locations in SF, just give them a call and see what they can do for you. Here's a PDF of all their locations in SF: https://sfconnected.files.wordpress.com ... -13pdf.pdf.
6. Mercy Housing in SF - Might have some cheapish rent-controlled apartments - https://www.mercyhousing.org/california-contact. Phone: 866-338-0557.
7. Housing for Single Adults and Families with Disabilities, by the Human Services Agency of SF. Phone: (415) 557-6449. "HSA administers the federally-funded Shelter Plus Care Program which provides rental subsidies for homeless persons with disabilities. It provides permanent supportive housing for both individuals and families at various sites throughout San Francisco. Eligibility requires applicants to be homeless at the time of intake, and have a certifiable disability related to mental health, substance (ab)use and/or disabling HIV/AIDS. All referrals are solicited directly from HSA through the Coordinated Assessment process."
On the point above, it seems the above program and virtually all of the care home programs are based on referral by either a case manager, social worker or counsellor. If anyone at all is looking out for you, ASS-P, then you need to ask to be referred to any available care home ASAP. If no one is looking out for you, you need to find a case manager/social worker. Even if that means moving to another part of SF.
