Yes. I really, really do :(
I don't like it. I want to be able to spend my money without feeling bad.

Tough lesson to learn. Say no/never do that again.

Money isn't easy from where I live. Seriously.

What part of South East Asia are you in? How difficult is it to make money there? What's the typical income? What's it cost for housing, food, and essentials? It's always interesting to get a different perspective and learn how other people live.

Before you even respond, I bet it makes my income seem relatively high, and the op's considering of spending $1,000.00 USD on a material item that's not essential for survival seem like a dream, or perhaps very wasteful, depending on your line of thinking.

I know that being working class poor here, where I am, still affords me a very high quality of life compared to global standards. We're only poor here compared to North American standards of having disposable income & the ability to save and invest for retirement while simultaneously paying to own our own homes, be University educated, and drive brand new cars.

I am legitimately curious as to where you are in the world and what your financial/economic situation is, if you'd care to share. Perhaps we could all do a bit of learning from you. 8)

In the Philippines.

Google it if you like.
Most articles tells things about the most modern places -- along with the most expensive 'average' incomes and cost of living by region.

In reality, from what I've seen with my own and others, is usually crazier than that. And I'm not one of those who live in said most modern and expensive places.

Sly, why not pay off your cc debt with the money instead of paying interest and being stressed by debt?

I believe Sly has student loan debt, not credit card debt. In the neighborhood of $10,000 or so.

Sly could get himself out of default through making a "down payment," then agreeing to paying a certain amount per month. And do it for nine straight months, I believe.

In Sly's financial position, the monthly payment could be negotiated down to a small amount.

He just said a couple posts ago that he has “family debt,” that’s on his credit card.

Oh. Okay.

I truly wish his family would pay him back. If he pays this particular debt, then it would seem like the family has a "free pass" to give him even more credit card debt.

All he has to do is say no. “No. You never repaid me before and I can’t afford to pay for your mistakes again. No.” And then he’ll never have to pay for some other family member’s debt again.

Did your relatives trick you to sign for their debts?

No I let them buy things and for long time they paid them off.
Then my sister didn’t cause car broke down and she bought new one so then we’d put bills on it and pay off early to cover it as well as I’d buy stuff every month to cover it too. Then in December due to Christmas my mom didn’t pay the whole month so then there was that too.
My sister got bonus and said she pay hers off today and my mom paid some of here’s but they’re still be the cable bill which we now month behind. But at least it’s not the 1500
I think I’ll use some of my savings to pay the $300 mom owe and just give her less each month until it’s paid back.
I won’t let them use it anymore as they charge things and forget then say they paid when they didn’t and accuse me of stealing

Actually I have both. I owe total of 25,000 I beleive. But student loans I don’t pay anything on and I don’t make enough for credit to take money.
Student loans says due to my income I don’t have to pay anything so it’ll just be wiped and become irs debt in 20 years at which point I’ll probably just kill myself. As it’s will take 30% of my $700 ssdi gives me.

That's wise, I think.

Indeed and I don’t think I should feel guilty about buying something I want with the surprise money I got. I bought my sister a switch and my mom Roku and lights and I saved rest back to get something I want for fun. The gun is what I finally decided on. :s

No one wants you to feel guilty. We may express our opinions but the decision is surely yours.

My family does and some people at work and also conservatives.

It’s why I’m trying to hidethe purchase from my family. If I can sneak it home they won’t know any different as they don’t know guns or which ones I own

Your feelings are not their business.
Also, if someone thinks you should do something differently, it does not necessarily mean they want you to feel certain way.
