Let me get this straight.
You are an individual not following the herd, and you have a problem with that?

All I can say is:

I don’t dye my hair, nor have piercings, nor have tattoos—and I never will do any of these things.

If somebody doesn’t like that, it’s tough nuggies on them.

I only haven't done those things because I can't be bothered (ADHD symptom right there). Taking a puff of weed doesn't require any time or effort.
I don't choose not to enhance my appearance, I just find it's extra effort, but then I feel left out because I don't do these things. But I seem to be hypersensitive to pain so I know getting a tattoo will just hurt and so will having a piercing. I could dye my hair I suppose, just to feel normal, as I don't think I've met another woman who hasn't dyed their hair the opposite colour to their natural hair colour (blonde people dye their hair black, black-haired people dye their hair blonde, and brunettes dye their hair different shades of brown). Being a female with your natural hair colour isn't normal and it's probably one of the reasons why I get funny looks from other women when I go out.

How do they know whether you dye your hair or not?

I know a few people who do these things. But many don’t.

Some girls find guys with piercings, tattoos, etc really cool……but it doesn’t matter to me.

I would say that not giving into peer pressure is far less wimpy.

I'm also a woman who has never dyed my hair, had tattoos... I was forced to have my ears pierced by my mum and I hated it. Eventually I had to go to hospital to have them removed because they got stuck and I couldn't take them out. Never worn them since.

Never worn makeup or dressed to impress anyone else. Never drank alcohol or taken any drugs. I just do what I feel like. If other people don't like it, it's their problem. If I don't make friends, fine. The friends I do make like me for me and not some pretend version of myself.

Smoking weed is no good for you if you are of a paranoid disposition.

I thought about dyeing my hair in order to look younger. I decided it was too much hassle.

I don’t mind it when people do dye their hair. But don’t do it only to satisfy other people.

I'd be surprised if Joe or anyone else would dye their hair to satisfy other people.

Sometimes people might dye their hair or change their appearance to fit in with a group of people who they want to associate with but that quite normal I think.

Like if I wanted to be accepted by a group of Manchester City supporters then I wouldn't get very far if I went along dressed in a Manchester United shirt.

It’s not quite the same thing….

Not dyeing one’s hair doesn’t indicate that you’re a fan of a rival football team.

I would like to think that Joe would know what point I was making.

I knew what you meant.

About the wimp thing, I'm a wimp because I'm scared of everything. Although some people define wimp as giving into peer pressure, wimp can also mean not giving into peer pressure, not because you don't want to but because you're scared. And when you're scared, you miss out. And when you have FOMO, you get depressed. Then it becomes a vicious cycle.

FOMO seems be an especially bad trap for those of us who can consider all of the possibilities. No matter what choice we might make, we're missing out on the other outcomes.
