I paid money to avoid the ads and be used as a mole.

*Regrets*

Yeah, I regret paying for the subscription as well. If it wasn't for my private conversation with certain members of WP, I'd regret ever using that toxic place.

The horrible moderation was one thing.
Allowing members to lie and trash WP / Cornflake was my final straw.
They even admitted to me that they knew people were lying.
I don't get it and I never will.

They were very kind to me a couple of years ago.
I always said nice things about them here.
I defended them here.

It's a shame to discover they were never sincere.

Seeing how people, especially those in positions of power and authority, handle conflict says a lot about them...

I understand if they are upset about my rant here, but hey ... sorry ... it wasn't a rule break. They clarified that to me when people there were ranting about WP (and CF, and the mods, and the members, and telling lies about it all). They said it's not against the rules there to talk about another site. They only discouraged people from mentioning WP because they didn't want any drama. They also said those people at their site couldn't really be reported because they didn't specifically name anyone even though they referred to "the admin at the other autism site", or the transgendered people at the the other autism site, the clique at the other autism site, etc. If that's all permissible, even with lies attached, then I don't know why it's wrong for me to rant about them here, without using names, when telling the truth. They know it's the truth. Their unnamed mod agreed with me on several accounts that their members appeared duplicitous and they were in the wrong. Their mod even admitted that a certain member was a groomer, and that they had groomed Twilight. Did they do anything about that? Nope. Not even when that member started to bully or gaslight her, which is against the rules.

Hence, this shenanigans.

Verbal/emotional abuse:

Quote:
Verbal abuse is the use of language and communication to cause harm, and it’s a term often used interchangeably with emotional abuse.

Melissa Barsotti, a licensed clinical social worker from Carlsbad, California, explains verbal abuse can be incredibly harmful, especially when experienced in early development.

“Verbal abuse is meant to belittle, humiliate, and psychologically harm an individual,” she says. “Verbal abuse often is manifested as derogatory language, usage of curse words or threats, and use of a harsh tone or voice.”

https://psychcentral.com/health/what-is ... definition

Example of verbal abuse: "Knock it the hell off a**hole." People in positions of power and authority who abuse others run the risk of being reported to the appropriate person and losing their position, especially when there is evidence in the form of screenshots.

WTF? ^

Someone in power said that?

Now I’ve heard everything.

Yep, it's crazy. I had never even interacted with this person before in any capacity. It was utterly bizarre. Who knows how much he's harmed other people.

I’m incredulous. Despite everything that’s bugging me, I wouldn’t expect that of anyone there. If they are that upset about our rant then perhaps they should notice the double standard involved with their own decisions, think of it as a learning opportunity, or at least offer to discuss things with the goal of conflict resolution. CF has done that in the past and he always extended common courtesy when similar things happened to him / WP on their site.

I understand that sometimes people say things they shouldn't in the heat of the moment, but I think it's a problem when a mod says something that hurtful. Hopefully, they learn from their behavior and don't subject someone else to it. It could even lead some on a downward spiral if they are struggling with mental health issues.

Perhaps they felt overwhelmed because of various problems they've got going on, but that still is NOT an excuse to be abusive.

I created an account there when the groomer problems here emerged.I never posted and don’t like the lay out.Lots of negativity towards this site.
I think I’ll go post a question and see if I get banned.
Will report back.

If you are THAT emotionally unstable and bad at conflict management, you shouldn't be a mod/admin. You can't just blow up at people, and especially not if you've barely interacted with them. I bet I know who you're talking about and he has a history of being wildly unprofessional, and he's actually the main reason I avoided posting there, even before all of this. He's not a good mod/admin.

Yeah, I’m sure it’s the same person. I had never talked to him before.

I just wouldn’t have thought that a mod would behave this badly on a purportedly professional and balanced forum. It’s something I’d expect, perhaps, from a subreddit with few members. I guess appearances can be deceptive. With the bullies, groomers, and awful mods, I’m really concerned about members, especially those who are sensitive and vulnerable.

Elevated levels of nitrogen dioxide can cause damage to the human respiratory tract and increase a person's vulnerability to, and the severity of, respiratory infections and asthma.

Long-term exposure to high levels of nitrogen dioxide can cause chronic lung disease.

It may also affect the senses, for example, by reducing a person's ability to smell an odour.

High levels of nitrogen dioxide are also harmful to vegetation—damaging foliage, decreasing growth or reducing crop yields.

I wonder if it would reduce one’s ability to smell a skunk. :chin:

Decreasing crop growth is certainly a concern.

Skunk weed might confuse them.
Once we smoked a fatty in the car on the way to the post office and when I got out an old biddie in the parking lot said, “ I smell an ol’ skunk.”
It was hard not to laugh.
