I don't think Labour are making the argument for it very well so I thought I'd help.. If I didn't know some petrol cars are exempt then I doubt the general electorate does hence why Sadiq Khan and Labour are getting battered over it..

Oh right! I thought you were arguing against yourself!

You know we all need things explained more clearly to us on WP :P

Yeah, they do seem to have gotten worse over time, don't they? I have never voted Conservative either. In almost all of the general elections I have voted in, I have voted The Labour Party.

The Liberal Democrats have pretty much sabotaged any chance of them ever being a major party, after their backstabbing policy of raising student tuition fees.

UK politics is a joke at the moment. Even The Labour Party are not much better than the Conservatives.

Oh I thought you were American!

Unfortunately I've nearly always lived in True Blue areas of the country so I've had to vote Lib Dem to get the Tories out. Our local Lib Dem councillors are brilliant, the Tories don't stand a chance here. The councillors are often seen around the village, they greet us by name. Proper politicians taking care of their constituents.

I just wish the Labour Party had a direction! And a clear message, like 'we will overhaul the NHS so it works for everyone.' Or 'we will focus on renewable energy'. Or 'we will focus on making the UK independent in food and energy.'

Or SOMETHING! A message we can get behind!

Well that was my lecture for the day, thank you for attending.

I just can’t understand how someone could treat another person this badly.

I am SO frustrated by the continuing TOTAL lack of action to remediate my dire concerns about this issue!

Haha, weirdly, a lot of people online, historically, assume I am American for whatever reason!

But, no, I am a humble British person. :)

My city on a whole typically votes Labour at the general election. My local constituency that covers the town within the city I live in, votes Conservative at local elections. :(

Yes, The Labour Party could do with direction! Their only selling point at the moment seems to be that people are sick of the Tories, which isn't exactly something to be proud to be elected for (assuming The Labour Party win the next election).

I'm f*****g sick of the tories. I hate them.

I was in my kitchen today training and that f*****g Gillian Keegan was on trying to sell herself as a woman of the people. She literally drove me to distraction and I kept on tripping over my jump rope.

The sooner they are out the better. And don't even got me started on the water situation. FFS!

Another Tory muppet!

Hopefully they'll be out by next year at the latest.

Yeah hopefully. It might as well be the end of democracy if they get in again.

I do beg your pardon, good sir :) Most people think I'm Australian for some reason :?

My local area votes Lib Dem, my general consistency votes Tory.

Let's hope Labour steps up its game soon!

Yes why do people think Tories are on the side of the people?? THEY ARE NOT. I know people who still champion the Tories as if their lives depended on them. Whereas it is the opposite- the Tories are trying to kill us! Such people like that still blame Tony Blair and Labour for all the problems the UK has. WTAF.

Did you see Rishi Sunak's latest ruse to win the election? 'To put the Conservatives on the side of the driver. i.e. To cancel ULEZ and 20mph speed limits because they aren't British values.

How are pollution and speed limits British values? They are facts. Pollution and high speeds kill people. Is Sunak saying that British people's values are killing people?

FFS.

Argh! This is very much a first world problem but still.

I write fanfiction as I've probably said. It is very important to me as I don't have a life offline. I have a lovely beta reader but lately I've noticed she is constantly sending me her stories to read, but not bothering to read mine. Over the last 18 months I've written/re-edited 200K words of fanfiction and I've only sent her about 3 stories because I knew she wouldn't be interested in the others and I didn't want to burden her. And also, I'm not very interested in her stories because they are about characters I find dull.

Today I decided to point out to her how unfair this is. It should be give and take- she reads my stories, I read hers. I'm not here to give all the advice and support but get none back myself!

It's okay, haha.

Yes, hopefully Labour will have a landslide victory this time around at the coming general election. Fingers crossed!

You should definitely put your needs out there KitLily, particularly if there is an unfair balance at hand in whatever scenario, and especially in scenarios like you describe, where you are spending your own valuable time doing a task.

Yes, fanfiction is meant to be FUN! Not me reading other people's stories 24/7 and helping them when they don't help me. She has a full time job but she still has time to write loads of stories so she can't be that busy! And she just sends me endless pictures of celebs that she fancies, I don't like them so what do I say? 'How nice.'

While I do not forgive the emotional abuse inflicted on me by a mod on another forum, I am happy that they have finally decided to ban a sexual predator/groomer/bully. Better late than never, I suppose.

That is something, sorry you were abused .You have most likely saved others from the predator.
