There used to be a men's forum, but it was abused so badly by the male members that Alex closed it down. Tough luck. If you want to b***h about women and make lewd or offensive comments about them go to another site where that is acceptable. It isn't welcome here.

Please define sexism.

i was going to break it down for you, but then i saw that you said this:

answeraspergers wrote:
Fact is that the sexism from females goes unchecked but the other way its clamped down on hard.

so it seems that you already have an idea as to what it entails, so you don't need my help. feel free to report this "unchecked" sexism, that seems to loom large. you can pick another moderator to report to if you like, of course.

Just deal with the truth and accept men and women are very different beings for very good and still relevant reasons.

i don't see any premises that i need to "deal with" here. this looks like utter nonsense, stated in a manner that is intended to be inflammatory.

No no. I need a working definition from YOUR POV. Hence I asked.

You are woeful at reading intent. Please do not do that with me. Not once have you got it right. However there is no premise here - I keep my mouth shut in general on here because the dynamic is woeful for the males in need of advice. Hence they get annoyed when they make no progress.

Im for truth, honest and open expression. If you are offended by truth then that's your ego - not the truth that is at fault. Sexism does not bother me one bit - if its true.

I will button it here out of respect to the OP. Not because Im wrong.

PM didnt answer the question posed.

Im out of this thread.

Good luck guys. You will have to find love and acceptance for women or you will get nowhere - but you cant work through your actual beliefs to get there because its "sexist" - hence not much will change.

Are you seriously going to delete my reply each time to make it look like you "won" the debate and frame me negatively?

How lame and abusive of position.

So yeah, this thread has exemplified why I have all but left this forum.

As with every kind of discrimination, you have to view then within the context of power. Who has the power in a given set of circumstances. Of course, it's not as simple as men have the social power, and women do not, because there are other power dynamics present within society - between races, the disabled and the non-disabled, classes, heterosexuals and sexual minorities, etc.

So, in the same way that reverse racism doesn't really work, reverse sexism doesn't really work. Especially within the context of wrong planet I think it's important to consider how it's not sexism that is making males feel (or even be) unwanted, it's the interplay between ableism and societal expectations of masculinity.

Doubtless people will disagree. But oh well.

I found this and thought it was worthwhile. I liked the fact that the initial premise was no names (whose posts were mysogynistic), just talk.

I am being very tactful here, which takes so much energy as everything has to be thought, rethought, written and re-written.

I don't know if males are affected by mysogyny. I don't know if they recognise mysogyny. Either by themselves or by others. I'm not male so I cannot know.

The posts made recently have only served to prove the point of the initial poster. By arguing in that way, using those tired old justifications and not accepting that sometimes people just feel what they feel and you don't have to agree or approve, the point of the original post was proven by the negative recent posts.

I am assuming this post was not about proving anything but, an avenue to salve a person who felt set upon and was asking if they were the only one who felt a particular way.

WP should be a safe zone. It should be a place where we recognise that we are all different. Within the "syndromes" that inhabit WP there are an extremely wide range of indicators. I should be able to question the way I'm feeling, ask for affirmation and expect support not villification. If the feelings seem misplaced say it in a manner that doesn't attack. WP should be a place that we can all feel supported.

In response to the initial post.
Yes I have noticed the mysogyny. No, I don't think that confronting those who do it would serve any purpose but to frustrate anyone who tried. No, it isn't acceptable.

As a newbie I almost didn't bother with the forums as I am having some issues in my relationship, thought i'd found somewhere to go for advice, saw the callibre of advice out there and thought "what the hell am I doing here?".

I do wish there was a post by women for women where I could seek advice, solace. But how do you prove gender on the internet? (If your first thought was lewd you may be mysogynistic.)

I have not contributed to the discussion, but have been following it. Watched as the initial point was discarded and the conversation derailed, and a lot of justification claims made for boys behaving badly. It was brought back to point and a summation made by the OP which, again I fully agree with and compliment her eloquence.

Being mostly a newbie and a lurker I haven't personally seen a lot of misogyny, but it does pop up in some odd places. A thread about conversation difficulties has a post about how much harder it is for male aspies to get girlfriends than it is for female aspies to get boyfriends, something that really had no connection to the rest of the thread.

Just my two cents. That and another dollar and a half might get you a cup of coffee.

While I see that mistreatment/rejection etc from women may be connected to having a sexist/misogynistic attitude I don't see it as a reason or excuse. Because you have a choice in the way you deal with it. Being misogynistic is a choice, just as keeping a healthy attitude about women is one too. For every misogynist I see there are just as many guys keeping a good mind and realizing that they've only had bad experiences with a few women, not with the whole female population (they're a preciously rare type here though). Maturity IMO plays a big part of it. Immaturity makes one choose to deal with it in an inappropriate way which leads to misogyny.

That's what I've mostly seen it as anyway. Not misogynists, just a pack of whiny immature a**holes who happen to be guys.

Also, I've never understood guys who hate women yet still want a relationship with one. Like here I see a guy post the most sexist passive aggressive thing I've ever seen, then five minutes later post that they wish a women was snuggling with them right now. Yeah sure....we'll be over in 10 minutes....not :?. Just an example I guess of how their attitudes are making them even more unattractive to date.

I've never blamed women who rejected me, I mean they date who they find attractive, just like men do. I can't find fault with that.

I, however do get frustrated and jealous at men who are vastly superior in attractive qualities compare to me; i.e. good looks, being smart, smelling decent, having talents, being mentally tough, having a lot of friends, charismatic, mysterious etc.

So what does that make me.

I think women are a lot nicer and friendlier than men

I'd rather have a female as a friend than a male any day.
