how can i stop this anxiety problem?
Last time when i visited my psychiatrist she told me that i should start skipping medication so i can end taking them one day. I have been like this for a month and i am getting to feel quite sick. I have had this problem for 2 or 1 week.
I have some sort of pain or pressure feeling on my chest. I always feel tension and my heart is beating strong or fast. I sweat too. BUT there is NOTHING i should be anxious or nervous of! There is no reason i should be feeling like this!
I am doing quite well. I am back to my old home and it is nice and beautiful here. I definently should not feel this tension. I am getting really tired of it. I don't know what to do. I'd really like to get rid of this feeling.
I'd like to enjoy this summer-time. Maybe i am going to die who knows. Or maybe i am haveing some heart problems.. i really don't know. Or MAYBE this happens to me because i am skipping medication and i should not, even if my psychiatrist told me so.
Should i start taking my medication like i did it a month ago? I took two pills everyday, morning and night. Right now i take them over a day.
I feel like i am slowly dieing.. i can't even focus on my interests anymore even if i'd desperately like to..
And i apologize if my writing is messed up. I really can't focus on my writing because i am feeling sick of my chest.
Your psychiatrist may have got it wrong. It happens sometimes. Go back and tell him/her what is happening, or phone up and report it.
Aspies often have high anxiety levels, even if there isn't a good external "excuse" for it -- it's just how our brain chemistry works. Some people need to be on pills all the time because of this, whereas others can go off pills completely. Maybe you are one of the people who needs longer-term medication.
I'd hug you now if I were there. (But only if you wanted a hug!)

I've been having problems with this sort of for a while now, and like you I came to believe that there was something wrong with my chest as I always felt tense and my heart would start pounding for no reason.
But over the past year I've had two chest x-rays trhee ecg's and various blood tests which have all reported that I'm perfectly healthy, it was just random anxiety attacks but because I couldn't trace the reason I thought there was something wrong with my heart.
I think considering you're age it's far more likely that you're experiencing random panic than having a heart problem, heart problems in people below 40 are very rare. Was it ssri's that you were taking? if so I would suggest that is probably the reduction in you're medication that is causing these problems.
Still, I found the only thing that really helped was to get totally checked out and have it absoloutly confirmed that my health was fine.
Well you have my deepest sympathies anyways, it's not a nice problem to have.
you didn't say what medicine you take. You do have to quit them slowly, but you don't have to quit them at all if you still have anxiety! My son tried going off of his, because he dropped off of our insurance. after about 1 yr. he said he at least needed something for anxiety. He went to my GP and he prescribed celexa. He's been on it for about 2 months now and feels better. He was afraid of being on meds forever, but if he were a diabetic he would not think of giving up his meds. He gets generic celexa at wal-mart for $4 a month. way better than being ill all of the time. Do what is best for you!! I don't ever miss my bloodpressure medicine or my prozac! Good luck.
